A Second-Generation Bridal Shop in Martigny

Isabella Boutique is a bridal and ceremonywear shop in Martigny, in the Valais, run by Isabelle. Its motto on the site is "La passion du mariage depuis deux générations" (a passion for weddings for two generations). Her mother, Carmela, opened the original shop in the center of Martigny in 1991. In 2016 Isabelle, who the site says had more than 20 years of experience in fashion and bridal wear, took the shop over under a new name, Isabella Boutique, and specialized it in weddings and ceremonies.

On 1 December 2023 the boutique moved out of the town center to its present address, Rue de l'Ancienne-Pointe 30, 1920 Martigny. The site explains the move as a way to offer a service better suited to what customers expect, and describes the new shop as a warm, intimate space entirely dedicated to future brides. The homepage opens with a line attributed to Nietzsche about marriage as the will of two to create something unique, and adds that the boutique's own aim is to make each customer unique on the wedding day.

The whole site is in French, and the pages give no English or German version.

Wedding Dresses in Sizes 34 to 54

The bridal space offers a wide choice of wedding dresses from size 34 to size 54, which the page says can suit every budget, together with all the accessories needed for the day. A published range up to 54 is useful for brides who have struggled to find sample dresses in their size elsewhere.

The page lists the labels it carries: Morilee, Ronald Joyce, Madeline Gardner, Kaya Nova and Alma Novia. A photo gallery of wedding dresses is linked from the bridal page, but the site gives no model names, prices or descriptions of individual gowns, so the labels are the best guide to the style range before a visit.

The bridal page frames the offer with two short lines, "Une robe parfaite pour un jour parfait" (a perfect dress for a perfect day) and "Vous avez un rêve, nous le réalisons" (you have a dream, we make it happen). The galleries themselves, for wedding dresses, men's suits and cocktail dresses, are presented as suggestions to browse for inspiration, and they are the closest the site comes to a catalog. A bride who wants to try a particular gown she has seen from one of the five labels should mention it when booking, since the site does not say which models are in stock.

Accessories are part of the offer. The presentation page lists shoes, underwear, hair accessories, veils and boleros, among other things, so a bride can put together the complete outfit in one place.

Suits for the Groom and the Family

The men's side is a real part of the shop rather than an afterthought. The homepage describes a men's space with suits for the groom, for the groomsmen and for the groom's parents, and the presentation page adds a wide assortment of suits with all the accessories. A photo gallery of men's suits sits alongside the bridal one. For a wedding party, this means the groom and his family can be fitted in the same shop as the bride, although the site does not name the suit labels or give prices.

Cocktail Dresses, Bridesmaids and Children

The cocktail section offers a wide choice of dresses, short or long, plain or with rhinestones, from Morilee and Ronald Joyce. The page pitches them as dresses worn like jewelry, to feel beautiful and shine at private events, which covers wedding guests, mothers of the couple and witnesses. Because Morilee and Ronald Joyce appear in both the bridal and the cocktail lists, the same labels run through both departments. The presentation page also mentions dresses for bridesmaids and dresses for children, so flower girls can be dressed here too. The site's meta description adds that the shop sells women's ready-to-wear as well.

Alterations In-House

Isabella Boutique has its own alterations atelier. The bridal page says: "Grâce à notre atelier de retouches, nous réalisons les ajustements nécessaires directement au sein de notre boutique" (thanks to our alterations atelier, we make the necessary adjustments right here in our boutique). The atelier has its own entry in the site menu. For a bride this means the dress does not have to be sent to a separate tailor after purchase. The site does not say how long alterations take, how many fittings are usual or what they cost.

Appointments, Hours and Contact

For a personal fitting, the bridal page recommends booking an appointment by phone or through the contact form. The shop is open Monday from 14:00 to 18:00, Tuesday to Friday from 09:00 to 11:30 and 14:00 to 18:00, and Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00. Monday mornings are closed, and Saturday has only a morning opening, which is worth knowing for anyone planning a weekend trip. The phone number is 027 723 10 23 and the email is isabella-boutique@bluewin.ch. The presentation page ends by saying Isabelle and her team will be happy to welcome and advise customers on their choice of outfit.

What the Site Does Not Settle

The site publishes no prices for dresses, suits or cocktail dresses, only that the bridal range can suit every budget. It gives no lead time for ordering a dress or completing alterations. It says nothing about directions, parking or public transport to the new address outside the center. It is written in French only and does not say whether consultations can be held in English or German, which a couple from abroad or from German-speaking Switzerland should ask before traveling. It also does not say how large the team is or who, besides Isabelle, advises customers.

Who It Suits

Isabella Boutique suits a couple marrying in the Valais or the French-speaking part of Switzerland who want the bride, the groom, his parents, the bridesmaids and even the children dressed in one shop, with alterations done on site. The size range to 54 makes it a good option for brides who have found little choice elsewhere. It is less suited to someone who wants to compare prices online or who needs an English-speaking consultant without checking first, and the limited Saturday opening means a visit from farther away is best booked ahead.
