An Owner-Run Boutique in Winterthur

Just Marry is a bridal boutique at Im Laubegg 36 in Winterthur, run by its owner, Julia Pelleschi. It sells wedding dresses from current collections, a mix-and-match line aimed at civil ceremonies, an outlet of previous-season gowns and bridal accessories. Every page opens with the same line from Julia: "Eine glückliche Braut ist mein grösster Erfolg" (a happy bride is my greatest success).

The boutique works only by appointment, and each appointment is exclusive. On the dress page Julia writes that she takes 3 hours for each bride and blocks the boutique for other customers during that time. She describes the setting as calm and relaxed, a place where a bride can focus on her own feelings and feel at ease, and the shop itself as simple, modern and cozy. The site's meta text puts the stock at over 150 wedding dresses.

The location pages add a little more about how Julia works. She writes that she accompanies each bride with empathy, experience and an open ear, and that the aim is not simply to find a beautiful dress but the one that feels right for that bride, her personality and her day. The bride's companions are part of the appointment, from the first selection through to the toast when the dress is chosen, so bringing a mother, sister or friends is expected rather than tolerated.

The Dresses

The dress page gives prices, which many Swiss bridal shops do not. Wedding dresses cost between CHF 1000 and CHF 3000, and most fall between CHF 1500 and CHF 2500. The same page's meta description advertises dresses from 900 francs, without saying which dresses that figure applies to. Most dresses of the 2027 collection have arrived, and delivery for a new dress takes about 4 to 5 months.

The collection is explained by cut rather than by label:

  • A-line, which the page calls the classic among wedding dresses, wearable by almost any bride, with a fitted bodice and a full skirt, in many materials.
  • Flowing dresses in chiffon, soft tulle or satin, often a flowing A-line, described as airy and flattering.
  • Clean look dresses, which the page says are especially popular this year: no lace or other embellishment, relying on refined cuts and fabrics.
  • Fitted dresses, fit and flare or mermaid cuts. The page is candid that these suit taller brides better, since on a shorter figure the proportions often no longer work.
  • Party dresses, some of which were due in summer and autumn 2025, meant for the civil ceremony or as a second look for the party afterward.

The site does not name the designers or labels it stocks.

Mix and Match, Outlet and Accessories

The second pillar is a mix-and-match collection presented for the civil ceremony at the registry office (Standesamt). It lets a bride build her own look from separates, under the slogan "mix it, match it, love it". For couples who hold a small civil wedding and a larger celebration on separate days, this is a practical way to have two different looks.

The outlet reflects what Julia calls her concern for sustainability: wedding dresses from previous years' collections, offered more cheaply. Accessories include shoes, veils, jewelry and boleros.

How the Appointment Works

Each location page describes the same five steps. First, Julia asks about the wedding and the bride's ideas for her dress, and the two choose dresses together. Second, the bride tries them on while Julia keeps bringing further options, and the favorites are tried again until the dress is found. Third, once the bride has said yes, the moment is toasted with her companions, measurements are taken, and the contract and payment are settled. Fourth, when the dress arrives at the boutique, there is a second fitting to choose accessories, after which the bride takes everything home. Fifth, an experienced seamstress makes the final alterations; at the second appointment Julia gives the bride the details so she can book her own appointment with the seamstress in good time.

Julia recommends booking about 8 to 10 months before the wedding so that everything can be handled without stress. Shorter notice is possible, and brides in that situation are asked to get in touch so she can advise on the options. She also asks brides, out of respect, not to book appointments at several bridal shops at the same time and then cancel at short notice, since she reserves the shop for 3 hours for each bride.

Booking and Contact

Opening hours are by appointment only, with an online booking calendar. Julia can be reached on +41 76 454 21 10 and by email at info@justmarry.ch. The site has separate pages aimed at brides from Zurich, Zug, Aarau and other places, but they all point to the single boutique in Winterthur; the Zurich page describes it as only a few minutes from Zurich. The site does not give directions, public transport details or parking information. An Instagram channel is linked for inspiration, and the menu includes a Real Brides section.

What the Site Does Not Settle

The site is written in German, with a few English headings and phrases, and does not say whether appointments can be held in English. It publishes no deposit, cancellation rule or payment schedule beyond the fact that contract and payment are settled once the dress is chosen. It does not name the seamstress, say where she works or give alteration prices. It does not list the size range or say whether maternity gowns are available. It names no designers, so a bride looking for a particular label has to ask.

Who It Suits

Just Marry suits a bride who wants an unhurried, private appointment with the owner and a clear idea of cost before she arrives. The published price band and the outlet make budgeting easier than at most boutiques, and the mix-and-match line is useful for a separate civil ceremony. A bride with only a few months should contact Julia before booking, since new dresses take 4 to 5 months to arrive, and a couple who need to work in English should confirm that in advance.
