Le Dressing des Mariées is a bridal boutique at 7 rue Aristide Briand in Annemasse, in the French department of Haute-Savoie, which sets out to serve brides from Geneva and French-speaking Switzerland. Its homepage headline places it "à 20 minutes de Genève" (20 minutes from Geneva), and a dedicated page is written for brides from the Geneva area and the Suisse romande. It keeps a Swiss phone line alongside its French one. The site's description calls it a wedding dress specialist since 2004, and it is run by its founder, Hayette. Couples should note that the shop itself is in France, not Switzerland.
The Founder and the Team
The Geneva page introduces Hayette as a designer with a lifelong passion for bridal fashion. It says she was inspired by her grandmother, a dressmaker, and her mother, an embroiderer, and that her career in major fashion houses in Switzerland and France shaped her love of silk and lace. Today, the page says, she works with a team of dressmakers and advisers. A bride's review on the homepage adds a useful detail: the manager closes the shop during fittings so she can concentrate on one customer.
The Collection
The homepage invites brides to try dresses from more than 180 models, and the Geneva page speaks of nearly 200. The homepage says the dresses are made with great care in Europe, and a closing line calls them exclusively European-made. The labels named across the two pages are Rosa Clarà, Aire Barcelona, Eva Lendel, Milla Nova, Lorenzo Rossi, White & Lace, Madi Lane, Pollardi, Ida Torez and Woná, and the menu also lists a civil ceremony collection.
The Geneva page describes each label in some detail. It presents Milla Nova and Eva Lendel as close-fitting, lace-heavy and sensual; Madi Lane and Pollardi as bold and original; Rosa Clarà as a designer who has shaped bridal fashion "depuis plus de 25 ans" (for more than 25 years), with clean lines and noble fabrics; Ida Torez for brides who love lace, long trains, satin and organza, often with a slit skirt or a sheer bodice; and Aire Barcelona as a mix of satin and lace, contemporary and romantic at once.
The homepage advertises a summer clearance with exceptional reductions on a selection of Milla Nova, Eva Lendel and Rosa Clarà gowns, available immediately and in limited quantities, naming the models Novella, Tucker, Rios and Fairy as available. There is also a permanent outlet of past collections, which the site describes as a chance to wear a gown from a major designer house at a more affordable cost.
Custom Work and Alterations
The shop does more than sell off the rail. The Geneva page says: "Vous souhaitez dessiner votre propre robe de mariage ? Nous la mettons en lumière pour vous, dans notre atelier" (want to design your own wedding dress? We bring it to life for you in our workshop). The homepage adds that a bride can have a dress made to measure and personalized to her wishes.
Existing designs can be adapted too. The page gives the example of a bride who loves an Aire Barcelona gown but wants a slit skirt and an open lace back: the dressmakers add the details while keeping the character of the original. It also mentions an alterations service meant to make the dress comfortable for the whole day. The site does not say whether alterations are included in the price.
Private Appointments
Every visit and every fitting is by appointment only, according to the homepage, so that the bride has a private and relaxed time with her family and friends. The Geneva page describes a fully private showroom ("un espace entièrement privatisé") where one adviser is devoted to the bride and helps her find the cuts that suit her figure, with the dressmakers on hand to adjust details. The menu has a booking entry (Prendre un RDV).
For the Groom and Guests
The Geneva page states that men will also find their wedding suit here, and so will guests who want a refined outfit. It describes a range of suits from bold to classic, and says the team will help coordinate the groom's outfit with the bride's dress. The accessories section lists veils, stoles and parasols for the bride, and ties, bow ties, cufflinks and pocket squares for the groom. The menu also includes a honeymoon section.
What Brides Say
The homepage carries reviews, most in French and dated 2016 and 2017, plus one in English from Margarita: "you made the stressful part fun! It is a great experience, you found a perfect dress and tailored it perfectly!" The French reviews repeatedly mention Hayette's honest advice about which cuts suit a bride's figure, the wide choice, and the personal follow-up.
Contact
The address is 7 rue Aristide Briand, 74100 Annemasse. The French reception number is +33 7 68 41 43 27, the Swiss one is +41 76 769 38 13, and appointments can be requested at rdv@ledressingdesmariees.com. The site has a French and an English version.
What the Site Does Not Settle
The site publishes no prices, either for gowns or for custom work, and no lead times for ordering or alterations. It gives no directions or parking details beyond the 20-minute line from Geneva. It offers an English version of the site, but does not say whether appointments can be held in English, and says nothing about German. A couple from Switzerland should also ask about payment, whether prices are quoted in euros or francs, and how the dress is handed over or delivered across the border, since the site does not address any of that.
Who It Suits
Le Dressing des Mariées suits brides in Geneva and the Lake Geneva region who want a large choice of European labels in one private appointment, and who may want a design adapted or made to measure. The groom's suits and guest outfits make it possible to dress the couple together. The outlet and seasonal clearances help on a tighter budget. The lack of published prices, and the fact that the shop is across the border, are the two things to settle before the first visit.
