Nearly New

Tap a star to rate

Nearly New is a pop-up sales event for preloved bridal and occasion dresses, held at Seepark Sempach in the canton of Lucerne. It is not a shop with opening hours. It is a ticketed event on a set date: the site announces the 2nd edition for 17 October 2026, with over 250 preloved bridal and occasion dresses that visitors can try on, buy and take home on the spot. Around the dresses sit a seamstress, a color and style consultant, a makeup artist, a bar, food trucks and a row of partner exhibitors.

How the event works

The organizers are clear that this is not a classic secondhand pop-up. In their words it is "ein kleines Festival mit limitiertem Zugang zu rund 250 ausgewählten Braut- und Festkleidern", a small festival with limited access to around 250 selected bridal and occasion dresses, all available directly on site. The same page calls it "Ein Ort zum Feiern, Entdecken, Anprobieren und Verlieben": a place to celebrate, discover, try on and fall in love.

The practical point for a bride is the sequence: you book a ticket, come on the day, try dresses on, and if one works you pay and leave with it. There is no ordering, no waiting months for delivery, and no series of appointments. The site describes the setting as airy and relaxed, leaving room for emotions, encounters and decisions that feel right and can go straight home with you.

The access is limited, and the booking button ("Jetzt dein Ticket sichern", secure your ticket now) sits in several places on the page. The site does not publish the ticket price or the event's opening times.

Why the dresses are there

The pitch is about second life. The homepage points out that many of the most beautiful bridal and evening dresses are worn only once and then wait quietly, carrying stories, emotion and craftsmanship. Nearly New gives those dresses a second life and gives brides and their wedding guests a way to find a dress consciously, stylishly and fairly, in the organizers' words.

The page title also mentions sample dresses alongside preloved ones, so the stock is not only dresses that have been worn at a wedding. The dresses are described as bridal and "Festkleider", occasion or evening dresses, which means the event is useful for the whole wedding party: the bride, a bridesmaid, a mother of the bride or a guest looking for something formal.

The site also invites people to get in touch if they want to submit a dress of their own, so a bride who has already worn hers can ask about selling it through the event.

What is on site

The homepage lists what visitors can expect:

  • an experienced seamstress offering honest, free advice ("ehrliche, kostenlose Beratung")
  • a color and style consultant and a makeup artist for styling tips
  • a bar with selected drinks
  • exclusive co-exhibitors with particular pieces
  • food trucks outside

The free seamstress consultation matters more than it looks. With a preloved dress, the question is rarely whether you like it but whether it can be made to fit, and having someone on hand to say so before you pay is the main safeguard the event offers.

The exhibitors for October 2026

The site names its co-exhibitors for the October 2026 edition. Anima, Raum für Schönheit, does hair and makeup with a focus on bridal and event styling. Blumerei Sempach is a florist making bridal bouquets and arrangements. Casa Cafaro sells aromatherapy blends of essential oils. Creapassioni does wedding and event planning, from the first idea to the last piece of decoration. Dr. Hauschka brings its natural skincare. Fotifox rents photo booths. Jane GmbH is a tailoring business doing made-to-measure work, repairs and alterations with a focus on sustainable, fairly produced fashion. Leaf and Lace Jewellery makes wedding and engagement rings, also as custom pieces. La Leona sells handmade jewelry and accessories from labels such as Maayaz, Pink Sand and Bairo by Baianaroom. New Lifestyle Team (Meli Pape) runs a wellbeing program built on nutrition and short workouts.

Food and drink come from partners too: Gin Toni, a pink gin from Lucerne that forms the base of the event's signature drink, Bel Nada with alcohol-free aperitif alternatives made from berries and roots, and N2 Napoli Style baking Neapolitan pizza on site.

For couples coming from abroad

The site is written in German. Nothing on it says whether the seamstress, the consultants or the organizers work in English, so ask when you book. The contact section invites questions about the event and promises a prompt personal reply.

The venue is named as Seepark Sempach, in the canton of Lucerne. The site gives no street address, directions, parking information or public transport details, and it names no hotels. Visitors from abroad need to work out the journey themselves and should confirm the exact address with the organizers.

The main appeal for a couple planning from outside Switzerland is timing. Because you take the dress home the same day, a single trip can settle the dress, provided the date fits. The downside is the same fact turned around: there is one date, and if you are not in Switzerland on 17 October 2026 you miss this edition.

What the site does not settle

  • Dress prices. The site publishes no price list or price range for the dresses, so there is no way to budget for a particular gown in advance.
  • Ticket prices and the opening hours on the day.
  • Sizes on offer, and which designers or labels are among the dresses.
  • Payment methods, and the conditions of sale. The site links to general terms (AGB), which are worth reading before you buy, since a dress bought at a one-day sale may not be returnable.
  • Alterations after purchase. The seamstress advises on site, and Jane GmbH is listed as an exhibitor, but the site does not say who carries out alterations or how long they take.
  • Shipping. Nothing says whether a dress can be sent abroad.
  • Future dates. This is the second edition, and no later edition is announced on the page.

The navigation also lists a workshops section, which the homepage does not describe.

Who it suits

Nearly New suits a bride who is comfortable with preloved or sample dresses, wants to try on in person and decide on the day, and can be in the Lucerne area on the event date. It also suits a wedding party shopping together, since the stock covers occasion dresses as well as bridal gowns and there is food, drink and styling on hand.

It is less suited to a bride who wants a specific designer or a made-to-order dress, who needs several fittings over months, or whose travel dates are fixed elsewhere. For those couples a permanent bridal boutique is the easier route.
