Kesh Graffiti Artiste

Kesh is a graffiti artist based in Le Landeron, in the canton of Neuchâtel, who works under the site name graff-it.ch and describes himself as a "graffeur pro en Suisse." Alongside murals, trompe-l'oeil and painted children's rooms, he offers live painting and graffiti animations for private clients and companies, and his site documents one of them at a wedding in Bottens, in the canton of Vaud. For a wedding, the idea is simple: the artwork is made in front of the guests, and the guests can pick up a spray can and help. The site is entirely in French, and the projects it lists are all in French-speaking Switzerland.

The Wedding Animation

The wedding example is the clearest description of what Kesh does at a reception. His post from October 2018, titled "Mariage animation graffiti – Bottens Vaud," tells the story of the wedding of Philippe and Laetitia on a sunny October day. After the ceremony and the exchange of rings, he invited the guests to join him in making a personalized graffiti piece on a stretched plastic film. The text was "Just Married," with the letters sketched out in advance. Any guest who wanted to could take part, and, in the site's words, "Petits et grands ont tour à tour rempli les lettres précédemment esquissées" (young and old took turns filling in the letters he had sketched beforehand). Once the guests had finished, Kesh worked over the graffiti himself to bring out the finished piece.

He notes that the same piece could have been done on canvas, but the couple preferred an ephemeral animation that could be kept as a printed photo. The couple were then photographed in front of the finished wall. The post says the animation was very popular at the wedding, and its gallery holds 9 photos. That gives couples a real choice to discuss: a temporary backdrop that becomes a photo, or a canvas that goes home with them.

What Else Kesh Paints

The site's categories give a sense of his range. There is graffiti for indoor and outdoor walls, trompe-l'oeil, children's rooms and game rooms, custom graffiti paintings made to order ("Tableau graffiti sur commande"), first names painted on canvas ("Prénom sur toile"), and a page on materials and quality. There is also a shop.

The live painting page itself describes a commission for a BMW dealer in the canton of Vaud, where the aim was to bring an animation to an open day, which he calls a good way to give an event another dimension. The live painting archive adds a Star Wars themed live painting for a large company, a large graffiti animation for the town of Yverdon (an introduction to graffiti techniques commissioned for a youth center), graffiti courses in Neuchâtel and a graffiti session at a secondary school. The Yverdon entry mentions that walls and floors were protected with plastic and cardboard, a detail worth raising with any venue worried about paint.

The list of recent projects on every page names a Crossfit gym (Crossfit Mayama) in Vaud, an underwater mural in Bulle, a street potter in Saint-Sulpice, the Brasserie Lausannoise, a trompe-l'oeil townscape in Fribourg, a camper van business in Fribourg, a Roger Federer graffiti in Lausanne and a Star Wars themed graffiti in Fribourg. The archive entries date back to 2013.

How to Book

Every page ends with the same contact block: "N'hésitez pas à me contacter pour un devis gratuit sans engagement" (feel free to contact me for a free quote with no commitment). The contact details are Kesh Graffiti Artiste, Résidence des Pêches, 2525 Le Landeron (NE), phone +41(0)79.945.10.42 and email info@graff-it.ch. The site also links to Facebook, Instagram and Telegram. No prices are published anywhere, so a couple needs to describe the date, the venue, the size of the piece and whether it should be a canvas or a temporary backdrop, and ask for a quote.

Language and Location

The whole site is in French, with no English version, and it does not say whether Kesh works in English or German. A couple planning from abroad who do not write French may want to keep the first message short and clear, or route it through a planner or venue coordinator who does. On the day, a graffiti animation needs little language: guests fill in letters with him, which works across a mixed-language crowd.

All the projects the site names are in the cantons of Neuchâtel, Vaud and Fribourg. The site does not say how far he travels, whether he charges travel costs, or whether he takes bookings in German-speaking or Italian-speaking Switzerland, so a couple marrying outside Romandie should ask first.

What the Site Does Not Settle

There is no price list, no description of how long a wedding animation lasts, and no stated size for the piece. The site does not say what he needs at the venue in terms of space, floor protection or ventilation, whether he can work indoors, or what happens if it rains on an outdoor animation. There is no video of a live painting, only photo galleries. There is only one documented wedding, from 2018, so couples should ask about more recent wedding work and for photos of the finished pieces. The site does not publish a booking lead time, a deposit or a cancellation policy.

Who It Suits

This suits couples marrying in Romandie who want guests doing something together during the reception, and who like the look of graffiti and street art more than a classic performer. The participatory "Just Married" format works for mixed ages, since the Bottens post makes a point of children and older guests taking turns, and it produces a ready-made photo backdrop for the couple and their guests. A couple who wants a lasting piece can ask for the canvas version.

It suits less well a formal black-tie reception where spray paint would feel out of place, or a couple who cannot communicate in French and has no planner to help. It is also a small, personal operation with a single wedding on record, so couples who want a long list of wedding references will not find it here. For a relaxed, creative wedding in the Neuchâtel, Vaud or Fribourg area, it is an unusual and hands-on option.
