DJ Pat Fisher presents himself as "Euer DJ aus Basel", your DJ from Basel, and plays weddings, company parties and birthdays in the Basel area. His German-language site says he has been playing as a wedding and event DJ for more than 20 years, lays out his musical range genre by genre, and backs it up with a wall of Google reviews from couples and companies, two of them written in English. Reviewers call him Pat or Patrick.
From house clubs to weddings
The site tells the story in some detail. It started in a hobby room with friends, playing records for hours, weeks and years, and spending a lot of time in record shops buying house music. One party request led to more, and those turned into weekly gigs in the Basel region over many years: Acqua, Annex, Hinterhof, Barrouge, Borderline, Atlantis, La Luna, Fakt, Kaschemme and Bücheli Bar among them. Gigs followed in Zurich (including the Streetparade), Bern, Lucerne, southern Germany and Alsace, with vinyl in the suitcase.
The change to an all-round wedding and event DJ came at the Baselworld Village in Acqua, where the international crowd wanted more than house, lounge and electro. He added pop, hip hop, R&B, trap, dancehall, reggaeton, afro, rock and oldies to the electronic music, and has since specialized as a wedding and event DJ in Basel. His point is that a company aperitif and a wedding party call for different music, and that the mood on a given night depends on the guests, the venue, the weather and the catering. He compares himself to a conductor: he sets the beat and builds the atmosphere together with the crowd, with clean transitions between songs and a build of tension and energy that leads into the party.
What he plays
The "Mein Sound" section walks through the genres. Pop is there for mixed crowds and the newest hits. Hip hop, trap and R&B are his great passion, from Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Eminem and Dr. Dre to Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Apache, Sido and Luciano, with funk and Motown for variety. Afro, dancehall and reggaeton (Sean Paul, Bad Bunny) mix well with hip hop in his view. Dance, house and electro are his second passion and where his career began, from French house to newer names such as Prospa, Cloonee, Mau P, Vintage Culture and HUGEL, with classics from Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Deichkind, and electro kept for the early morning hours, with Ben Böhmer named as the closer. He also recalls the sound of earlier days at the Groovelift party series, run by and with Mr. Mike. Rock (AC/DC, Foo Fighters, Kings Of Leon, The Doors) and hits from the 50s to the 90s (Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Donna Summer, Queen, Michael Jackson, ABBA) round it out.
His rule, stated plainly, is that the music has to get people dancing, whatever the genre. He also lists what he listens to privately and would not play at an event, from Mumford & Sons and Paolo Nutini to The xx and Hermanos Gutiérrez, and says he loves live concerts.
What the reviews describe
The reviews on the home page fill in how he works. Stefan Egger writes that Pat was great at their wedding and that "Die Zusammenarbeit hat von Anfang an bestens funktioniert" (the collaboration worked perfectly from the start), and that he was "absolut professionell und unkompliziert" (absolutely professional and uncomplicated). Stefanie Mirwald valued that he mixed their wedding song. Sarah (Fauchventures) writes that he clarified all the details with their venue in advance. Severin Reinhart mentions his professional commitment to the arrangements beforehand. Beatrice Landolt and piergiorgio regazzo both describe wedding parties with a full dance floor; the second review is in English.
Drum Max, also writing in English about a social event, describes an initial consultation on music choices, after which Pat handled the liaison with the venue and set up his equipment on the day. That event had more than 200 guests, and Drum Max writes that they let Pat choose the music. Company clients Marie Stoffel and Doreen Domenge booked him for staff events. Marie Stoffel calls him a great entertainer with a real feel for the mood in the room, and notes that people she never expected to dance ended up on the floor, which is the test most wedding couples care about with a mixed-age guest list.
Booking and what the site does not settle
Booking runs through "JETZT ANFRAGEN" (request now) buttons, and the site's closing line asks couples to get in touch in good time. The menu also links to a wedding checklist and to pages on wedding and event venues in Basel.
The site publishes no prices, no packages and no terms for deposits or cancellation. It says nothing about what equipment he brings beyond reviewers' mentions of good gear, nothing about lighting, and nothing about how long a booking runs. It does not say whether he plays the ceremony or the dinner or only the party, or whether he travels beyond the Basel area now, so a couple marrying elsewhere in Switzerland should ask. The whole site is in German and it makes no statement about languages; the two English reviews show that English-speaking clients have booked him, but a couple should confirm how consultations and any announcements would run. He does not describe himself as an MC, so couples who want someone to host the program should ask whether that is part of the job.
Who it suits
DJ Pat Fisher suits couples marrying in or around Basel who want a party that ends on a full dance floor, with a DJ whose own taste runs from house and hip hop to reggaeton and rock and who is used to international crowds from his Baselworld years. The reviews point to someone who sorts out the venue logistics himself, which matters for couples planning from abroad. The caveats are the German-only site, the lack of any published price or package, and the open questions about equipment and hours, all of which have to be settled in the first conversation.
