Drumminsax
Tap a star to rate
Drumminsax is a DJ and saxophonist based in Lausanne who plays weddings and high-end private and corporate events across canton Vaud and French-speaking Switzerland, and in France. The act is one person, Maxime, as the client reviews call him: he mixes a DJ set and plays live saxophone over it, improvising in a jazz style. The site says he has worked as a professional DJ and saxophonist for more than 20 years, with hundreds of performances behind him.
The DJ plus sax format
The core idea is that a wedding gets a DJ and a live musician in one booking. The DJ side is billed as "DJ All Styles": a personalized playlist, all musical styles (electro, house, pop, rock, funk, soul, disco and more) and reading the mood of the room. The Lausanne wedding page describes the set as open format, naming lounge, house, funk, hits and wedding classics. The saxophone side promises live improvisation in a jazz style, interaction with the guests and an elegant, modern and emotional sound.
The wedding pages describe how the evening is meant to build: each performance is shaped around the wedding's cocktail, dinner, opening dance and dancing party, with a gradual rise in energy from a chic cocktail hour to a full dance floor. The site's music section gives a sense of the material, with sets labeled Lounge, Starter and Dance that include tracks such as Jimmy Sax's "Time", "La Bohême", "Shallow", "Dance Monkey", "Get Lucky", "Pjanoo" and "Prayer in C".
Equipment and extras
The services list reads like a full production menu. Professional sound is sized to the event and the venue, with premium equipment and complete installation. A light show adds effects and ambient lighting synchronized with the music. A professional photobooth with instant photos and props is available, and special effects include spark machines, fog and smoke, and a custom gobo (a projected light pattern). A complete package combines DJ, live saxophone, sound and lights as a turnkey offer. The FAQ adds a designer DJ booth and further live options: percussion, a singer and the photobooth.
Drumminsax also books other suppliers for a couple: percussionists and violinists, magicians, and photographers and videographers. The support service offers a free consultation, a tailored package and flexibility. Besides weddings, the site lists company evenings, birthdays, cocktails and afterwork events, art openings and galas, and its FAQ pitches the act for weddings, private parties and upscale celebrations in Switzerland and France. For couples organizing from abroad, having the music, the lighting and some of the other suppliers come through one contact is the main practical draw.
Where he plays
The Lausanne page names weddings in Lausanne and across canton Vaud, receptions in Montreux, Vevey and Nyon, and estates, luxury hotels and exceptional venues in French-speaking Switzerland. The Montreux page adds receptions at the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, the Royal Plaza Montreux, the Hôtel des Trois Couronnes in Vevey and private estates in Lavaux, as well as lakeside cocktails, secular ceremonies and dinners. The footer names Lausanne, Geneva, Montreux and Switzerland as service areas and lists these venues: Beau Rivage Palace, Portes des Iris, Fairmont Montreux, Vaudoise Arena, Musée Olympique, Royal Savoy and Casino Montreux. Corporate clients named are Nestlé, Audemars Piguet, CHUV, Centre Patronal, Rolex, Porsche, Pictet and Dior.
What clients write
The page shows a rating of 5.0 from 122 reviews and quotes six in French. Mélissa and Marc write that Maxime set the mood from the ceremony to the end of the night, made guests laugh and dance, and was loved by everyone. Mélanie and Damien say he set the place alight from start to finish. Vicenzo writes that Maxime "pense à tout et est super avenant" (thinks of everything and is very welcoming), was happy with a performance "de 16h à 04h du matin" (from 4 pm to 4 am), and calls him "une machine de guerre" (a war machine). Marina says he helped fill the day with surprises beyond the music and played a real part in the entertainment, and that the sax was the extra everyone loved. René describes an evening on 3 July 2024 at La Villa Perret and praises the contact, the booking and the collaboration, adding that the saxophone delighted the audience and the mood was good from the very start. Monique, writing about her son's wedding, says guests danced until they were thrown out, and closes with "une journée parfaite au Costa Rica" (a perfect day in Costa Rica).
Read literally, that last review describes a wedding far from Switzerland; the site itself does not say whether or how often he travels outside Switzerland and France.
What the site does not settle
The site publishes no prices. Its FAQ lists questions on rates, on whether he helps organize the wedding day, on how he handles DJing and saxophone at the same time, on how many times the couple and he will meet, on whether he visits the venue in advance, and on whether he also acts as "major de table" (the French-Swiss master of ceremonies), but the page text gives no figures or terms. There is nothing on deposits, cancellation, travel costs outside Vaud or the length of a standard booking.
The site is entirely in French and does not say which other languages Maxime works in. For an English-speaking couple, that is the first question for the contact form, which asks for the date, the venue, the type of event and the number of guests. Contact is also possible at info@drumminsax.com and +41 (0)78 907 05 03. The business is represented by Staszewski Events & Consulting.
Who it suits
Drumminsax suits couples marrying around Lausanne, on the Riviera or elsewhere in French-speaking Switzerland who want more than a DJ: a live instrument during the cocktail, a sax solo over the opening dance and a party that builds late into the night. The long list of add-ons (lights, effects, photobooth, other musicians) makes it a strong single contact for a large, high-end reception. Couples planning a quiet dinner with little dancing will be paying for energy they do not need. The caveats are the French-only site and the absence of any published price.
