Five Seasons Live Band

Five Seasons Live Band is a cover band based in Lyon, France, that plays upscale weddings, private parties and corporate events in France and, increasingly, in Switzerland. Its Geneva page introduces the group as a team of 5 to 6 French artists living near the Swiss border who have already played in quite a few places in Switzerland, mostly around Geneva. The sound it sells is a mix of live instruments and electronic production, and it often plays alongside a DJ.

The line-up and the sound

The base line-up, as the site describes it, is a pianist who also sings, a lead female singer, a lead male singer who works as MC, a saxophonist who performs rather than just plays, and a percussionist. Guest musicians, a lead guitarist and a violinist, are sometimes added. The Geneva page names the current team as Roxana (singer), Tony (MC and singer), Ludovic (singer and keyboards), Mathieu (saxophone) and Oliver (percussion), while older posts show other musicians rotating in, so the exact faces on the day depend on the booking. A 2019 post on the Geneva line-up introduces the sax player as the leader of the hip hop and soul group Electrophazz, the percussionist as a performer from Grenoble and the MC, Tony Milano, as a performer from Annecy. Another post presents Roxana as a singer from Dijon who joined the band in 2019 and goes out among the guests during the party set.

The band also says it keeps investing in equipment to make its shows more striking, and quotes the question it hears most often from couples during the cocktail concert: "Sublime ! Vous l’avez trouvé ou ce groupe?!" (Wonderful! Where did you find this band?).

The concept, in the band's own words, combines the electro sounds of current productions with the acoustic warmth of Latin percussion, Nord Electro, Rhodes and Wurlitzer keyboards, tenor and alto sax, male and female voices, and a very lively MC. It describes its DNA as a balance between machines, samplers and turntables and the live show. The English-language page adds that the group alternates styles to suit the audience and the event, covering electro, lounge, pop and funk songs by artists such as Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Drake, Nina Simone and Coldplay, and that it offers flexible line-ups, from a range of musicians and singers to a DJ with live singers.

How a wedding usually runs

The site's wedding write-ups show a common pattern. A smaller electro formation warms up the cocktail, often outdoors on a terrace or under a marquee, and the full band then plays a live set after the meal before a DJ takes over for the rest of the night. At the Abbaye de Collonges near Lyon, the band writes that there were 8 musicians on stage (sax, drums, keys, an MC, singers, bass and guitar) who played for 2 hours before the DJ took the relay. At the Terrasses de Majorac in south-west France, the musicians played the cocktail under the estate's marquee and then a live set after dinner that lasted until the DJ arrived. Several posts mention playing as a quartet for the vin d'honneur and the evening.

That format suits couples who want live musicians at the moments guests remember and a DJ to carry the late hours. It also means couples should ask whether the DJ is part of the Five Seasons booking; the English page lists a DJ within the collective.

Swiss work

The Geneva page is specific about where the band has played in Switzerland. Roxana sings regularly at the Leopard Bar of the Hôtel d'Angleterre in Geneva. The band played a high-end wedding at the Hôtel des Trois Couronnes in Vevey on the shore of Lake Geneva, a country wedding in Neuchâtel, the Rooftop 42 above Geneva, a company evening at the Hilton in Geneva with performers from La Folie Douce, and an event at Bonpoint in Geneva with Folie Douce performer Steven Grégory. A news post describes a corporate evening for an IT company with 400 international guests at the Kursaal congress center in Interlaken. Beyond Switzerland the site lists weddings and events in Geneva, Lyon, Nice, Colmar, Cannes, Monaco, Paris, Bordeaux and Barcelona.

The band says it plays more than 80 events a year, counting upscale weddings, private birthdays, corporate evenings and other events together, and that it works with leading agencies and wedding planners in France and Switzerland.

International couples

For couples from abroad, the site gives a fair amount to go on. A page is written in English, the Geneva page carries English captions, and the news posts describe weddings for international couples: an American wedding at the Palace de Menthon, a small American wedding of 70 guests at the Impérial Palace in Annecy, a Norwegian wedding in Tours, an English-origin couple at a château near Bordeaux, and an international wedding in English and German at the Château du Fey. Those posts suggest a band used to mixed-language guest lists, although the site does not state which languages the MC works in, which is worth confirming for the announcements.

What the site does not settle

The site publishes no prices, packages or rate ranges, and no deposit, cancellation or lead-time terms. It does not say whether travel from Lyon to a Swiss venue is charged, how the 5 to 6 piece base line-up compares in cost with the larger formations, or what sound and lighting the band brings. It does not state a maximum or minimum guest count for a wedding. The contact route is a booking email, fiveseasonsweddingband@gmail.com, and a French mobile number, +33 6 61 75 95 66.

Who it suits

Five Seasons suits couples marrying around Geneva or on the Lake Geneva shore, or just over the border in France, who want a live band with a modern, electro-leaning sound for the cocktail and the first part of the party, and who are happy to pair it with a DJ for the late hours. Its record with international weddings makes it a reasonable fit for English-speaking guests. Couples marrying deeper inside Switzerland should ask how the band handles the distance from Lyon. The caveats are the lack of published prices, the rotating line-up, and a site written mostly in French.
