JCL Swiss Event

Tap a star to rate

JCL Swiss Event is an event agency at Chemin Marc Charrot 2 in Plan-les-Ouates, in canton Geneva, that organizes weddings, company events and family celebrations and rents out event equipment. Its wedding menu runs from a complete organization service to single items: venue and catering, decoration and flowers, personalization, guest gifts, music, games, photos and secular ceremonies. Its music page is concrete, with three named packages and a starting price for each.

The three music formats

The music page splits the offer into three kinds of performer. The DJ ("DJ Animateur") handles the entertainment and launches the dancing, with music chosen for each moment to keep the energy up through the evening. A live band is proposed for the aperitif, in a choice of styles that the page lists as gypsy, pop, rock, folk, funk, soul, jazz, blues, French variety, crooner and even humorous songs. A solo musician is suggested for an emotional ceremony, and can also play the aperitif for a more intimate mood or join the DJ during the aperitif for a mix of soft and upbeat.

The technical side is listed under four headings. Lighting covers light effects and decorative lighting that colors the room with LED pars. Sound covers standalone speakers, microphones, a sound system, a mixing desk and decks. Effects include a bubble machine, a fog machine (standard or heavy, low-lying fog) and spark machines. Equipment covers a stage, a podium, a screen and projector or TV, a lectern, a microphone and stand, and a totem.

Packages and prices

The three packages are priced "HT", before VAT, so the final bill will be higher.

Formule Essentielle, from CHF 1'450 HT. A DJ with decks from the aperitif to the end of the evening, a personalized playlist for the vin d'honneur (the drinks reception after the ceremony), coordination of the entertainment during the meal, elegant background music during dinner, and a DJ set for the cake, the first dance and the dancing. Equipment: decks, sound, a microphone and moving-head lights.

Formule Élégance, from CHF 2'600 HT. A live band at the aperitif or a vinyl bar, then the DJ from the meal to the end of the night, with the same dinner coordination and background music, the same DJ set for the cake, first dance and party, and LED pars added to light the dance floor.

Formule Signature, from CHF 3'600 HT. Everything in the Élégance package plus a live musician for the ceremony (the page names sax, violin and piano), and spark fountains for the opening dance on top of the moving heads and LED pars.

The page does not say how many hours each package covers or what pushes the price above the starting figure, and it does not say whether travel within the Geneva region or further afield is included. The packages cover only the music and its equipment; venue, catering, flowers and the rest are separate services.

How the planning works

The FAQ explains the process. Couples meet the DJ in a first conversation to set out what they want, their program and their musical taste, to agree the songs to avoid and the ones they love for the key moments. Couples can send the titles they absolutely want to hear and the DJ will work them in. The agency likes to have everything settled two weeks before the day, but says it will adjust up to 7 days before for couples who decide late.

On booking a DJ just for the dancing, the answer is careful: the agency will do what it can, depending on the availability of its providers and partners. That wording, and the line that after booking the couple has a direct exchange with "votre prestataire" (your provider) to centralize information for the day, show that the musicians are supplied through the agency's network. The page presents them as experienced, reliable professionals who specialize in weddings.

There is also a DJ-free option. The agency offers a standalone setup with sound, lighting and a DJ tablet, which includes more than 2000 songs, automatic mixing without gaps and wedding playlists put together by a professional DJ. The page calls it ideal for an intimate party at a lower price, though it gives no figure.

Beyond the music

The agency's other wedding services sit in the same menu: complete organization, venue and catering, decoration and flowers, personalized items, guest gifts, games and entertainment, photos and keepsakes, and secular ceremonies. For companies it lists organization, music, interactive entertainment, shows, custom decoration and photos, and for private life events it covers gender reveals, children's and adults' birthdays, and christenings and family parties. Equipment rental and a blog complete the site. The agency's own summary of its role is that it takes care of every step so that the couple can simply live the moment, and the music page closes by pointing couples to its games, photo and flower services. For a couple organizing from abroad, that one-contact approach is the main practical argument: the music, the decoration and the ceremony can be briefed once rather than supplier by supplier.

What the site does not settle

The whole site is in French, and nothing on the music page says whether the DJ, the musicians or the agency's coordinators work in English. English-speaking couples should raise it in the first email to contact@jcl-swissevent.ch or by phone on 076 630 51 11. The page names no individual DJ or band, so couples who care about a particular style should ask who would play and whether they can hear them first. It publishes no deposit or cancellation terms and no hours.

Who it suits

JCL Swiss Event suits couples marrying in the Geneva area who want to know the music budget early and who like choosing between clear tiers, from a DJ-only evening to ceremony musician, live aperitif band and DJ in one booking. Couples who also want help with the venue, catering or a secular ceremony can take those from the same agency. The caveats are the French-only site, prices quoted before VAT and the fact that the performers come from a network rather than being named on the site.
