Music & Sport

Tap a star to rate

Music & Sport is the public name of MusicadHoc Sagl, a live-music and entertainment company with its operating base in Minusio-Locarno, Ticino, and its registered seat in Roveredo in the Grisons. It supplies musicians, DJs, tribute acts and sound and lighting for events, and weddings are one of its named specialties: the home page lists "MATRIMONIO (siamo specialisti di matrimoni per musica e intrattenimento)", which translates as weddings, where the company says it specializes in music and entertainment. The page title places the business in Locarno and Bellinzona. The same company also runs guided sports experiences, which explains the name.

Music services for weddings

The wedding page sets out the moments the company covers, one by one: a serenata d'amore (a love serenade), music for religious ceremonies, a choir, music for the aperitivo after the ceremony, bachelor and bachelorette parties, sound and lighting hire, music during lunch or dinner, the party after dinner, a magician and dancers. That list runs from the church to the late part of the evening, so one supplier can in principle be asked for the whole day or for a single slot.

The instruments on offer are piano, saxophone, guitar, harp and violin. The company also books musical groups of 2 to 6 people, with or without a singer, and describes its live music as covering all genres, naming classical, swing, modern, pop and jazz. DJ sets are listed "di tutti i generi", in every genre. For the evening there are tribute acts, with ABBA, Nomadi and Vasco given as examples, and variety performers: magicians, dancers and jugglers. The wedding page links sample videos, including harp as background music, saxophone and an Ave Maria, which gives a couple a way to hear the ceremony repertoire before writing in.

Pricing and what is included

Music & Sport is one of the few suppliers in this category that puts figures on its site. The wedding page states that services start from CHF 350. Sound and lighting services start from CHF 300, and single or recurring music events start from CHF 250. The footer of every page adds that all prices include VAT, which matters to a couple comparing Swiss quotes, since some suppliers quote net of tax.

The figures are starting prices only. The site does not say what the CHF 350 covers: how many musicians, how long they play, or whether travel and equipment are included. A couple wanting ceremony music plus an aperitivo set, or a band for the evening, should expect a quote built around their own day. Enquiries go to info@musicadhoc.art or +41 76 374 64 74, and the site also gives a second address, christian.minotti@hotmail.com, and a booking form.

The founder and company background

The "Chi siamo" (about us) section is unusually personal. Christian Minotti was born in 1975 in Lugano and took up piano and skiing at the age of 3, encouraged by his parents; both hobbies later became professions. For 12 years, until 2002, he worked as a stockbroker after completing his training at a large Swiss bank, which the page credits with shaping his business mindset. After traveling around the world twice, he returned from China in 2008 and founded Musicadhoc, first as an association and then, in 2010, as a limited-liability company (Sagl). The page says the company organizes events with professional musicians, artists and sports guides.

In parallel, from 1990 and for 30 years, he worked as a ski instructor with the Sci Club Ticino-Lugano, and since 2010 he has coordinated groups from schools and private groups looking for mountain experiences. In 2024 he opened to the public the sports activities he had run privately for the previous 15 years. The page describes his way of working as the result of 25 years as an independent professional, and names music and sport as the two pillars of the business.

Sound and lighting hire

A separate page covers technical services. The company rents out loudspeakers for recordings, concerts and discos, "fino a 30 altoparlanti" (up to 30 speakers), as well as lighting for shows, discos and stages. Equipment can be rented with or without a technician, and the page says the team installs professional sound and light systems with professional technicians. Prices start from CHF 300. For a wedding at a venue with no house sound system, that means the same company can supply both the musicians and the rig they play through, which saves a couple coordinating two suppliers from abroad.

Offers and availability

Every page carries the same promotion for new clients: book two evenings and the second one is 20% cheaper. The page states that the offer was valid until 31 August 2023, so its end date has passed and a couple should not count on it. The footer also carries the line "Disponibile 24/7", available 24/7, without saying more about what that covers.

Languages and booking from abroad

The site is written in Italian, and the menu offers switches to English, Russian, German and French versions. The wedding and service pages quoted here are the Italian ones. The site does not say whether musicians can sing in English, whether an MC or announcements can be done in English, or which languages the office handles by phone. For a couple whose guests are mostly English speakers, it is worth asking about repertoire in English and German as well as Italian, and asking for recordings of the specific musicians who would be booked.

What the site does not settle

Beyond the price detail, a few things stay open. The site does not publish a roster of musicians or name the performers behind the videos, so a couple cannot tell in advance who would play. It does not state a service area beyond the Locarno and Bellinzona reference in the page title, and it says nothing about travel charges for a wedding elsewhere in Ticino or in another canton. It does not give lead times, deposit terms or a cancellation rule on the pages read here; there is a link to terms and conditions in the footer, which is the place to check before booking.

Who it suits

Music & Sport suits a couple marrying in the Locarno or Bellinzona area who want one contact for several musical moments: harp or violin for the ceremony, saxophone or piano for the aperitivo, then a DJ or tribute band after dinner, with the sound system supplied too. The published starting prices, with VAT included, give an early sense of budget that most Swiss suppliers do not offer. The drawbacks are the thin detail behind those prices, an Italian-first website, and no named roster. A couple planning from abroad should send the date, venue, guest count and the moments they want covered, and ask for a written quote naming the musicians and what the price includes.
