Wedding Voice

Wedding Voice is a wedding music agency run by Esther Seidel from Florastrasse 18 in Biel. Instead of being a single act, it books singers, bands and DJs from its own roster for the ceremony, the aperitif, dinner and the party, and it also offers a photo booth. The home page says the agency looks specifically for musicians from Switzerland "welche mit ihrem Talent die grossen Bühnen der Welt erobern könnten", who could conquer the world's big stages with their talent, and who will play a wedding with just as much "Herzblut" (heart and soul). The site has German, English and French language options.

What the agency covers

The home page describes the offer as the complete musical entertainment for a wedding: from a singer during the ceremony, through discreet background music at the aperitif and dinner, to party music at the celebration until the early hours, supplied by singers, bands or DJs, with "das richtige Package für jedes Bedürfnis", the right package for every need. The menu also lists a repertoire page, a section on company events and private parties, and a "preise & packages" (prices and packages) page, which is where a couple should look for costs before writing in.

The roster, as listed on the site:

  • Singers: Tasha, Jasmin, Dave, Valerù, Miriana, Michael, Dara, Pamela, Diego, Emilia Anastazja and Laura, each with a profile and audio samples.
  • Bands: Schneiders Music, Sib & The Folding Chair Orchestra, Twang Gang, Tom's Alias Effect, the Irina Mossi Band and a string orchestra, Streichorchester Wedding Strings.
  • DJs: DJ Fulvio, DJ Michael, DJ Sandro, DJ Cesare and DJ Luk.

On DJs, the home page makes a point worth noting: playing a wedding is one of the biggest challenges for a DJ, so specialization is essential. The singers' page invites couples to browse the audio samples.

How booking works

Couples contact the agency through the "jetzt anfragen" (inquire now) form, by email at booking@wedding-voice.ch or by phone on +41 79 639 67 98. The contact section asks couples to inquire as early as possible because of high demand.

The reviews on the home page, all in German, describe the process from the couple's side. Eileen Graf writes that they found DJ Sandro through his audio samples and Instagram, made contact through Esther, who prepared the contract and answered every question, and then had a personal call with Sandro before the wedding. On the night he stayed in touch with them as guests sent in requests, and mixed their wedding dance on request. Barbara Suchcicka writes that Wedding Voice handled all the communication, and that the singer Pamela learned the couple's favorite songs for them. Muriel Kaufmann describes choosing the ceremony songs together with Emilia Anastazja from a large repertoire.

One review is useful precisely because it is not only praise. Natacha Wenger, who booked Tasha and DJ Sandro, calls the music wonderful but says the couple had no direct contact with the two musicians beforehand, which made the exchange feel a little distant. Taken together with Eileen Graf's call with her DJ, the lesson for a couple is to ask the agency for a call with the booked musicians before the day.

Who is behind it

The blog adds background. One post, "Unsere Reise mit Wedding Voice & Marry You", says that it all began over 12 years ago with a voucher for 5 singing lessons with Jasmin, which is how Esther and Jasmin met. Jasmin, who signs as wedding singer Jasmin Joana, is on the singers' roster, and another post says she and DJ Don Rodolfo, "ein eingespieltes Team", a well-practiced team, married on 23 August 2014 in the Dreifaltigkeitskirche in Bern. In a post on what a wedding singer brings, the author writes that even after hundreds of weddings each one is different. The rest of the blog is practical planning advice: the most popular wedding songs in Switzerland, how to choose musicians and a DJ, tips for the first dance, upbeat songs to open the party, gift ideas, and marrying while pregnant.

Venues mentioned

The blog names places where the agency's musicians have played: an outdoor ceremony at Schloss Hünigen, where the page says the ceremony can take place in the rose garden or a small clearing in the woods, with an aperitif on the castle terrace; and several civil ceremonies on the Sky Terrace of the Schweizerhof in Bern. Reviews mention a church wedding and party in Gstaad. The site does not publish a service area, so a couple should confirm travel for a venue outside the Bern and Biel region.

Language

The site itself offers German, English and French versions, so a couple from abroad can read it and write in English. What the site does not settle is which musicians sing in English or can announce in English. The blog also has a post on Swiss-German dialect songs for the ceremony, and the review from Natalie Bernath mentions Jasmin's own song "ich säge ja", so the repertoire includes Swiss-German songs as well as others. A couple should say early which languages the ceremony and the guests need.

What the site does not settle

The home and roster pages carry no prices; costs sit on the separate prices and packages page. The site does not say how the agency's fee relates to the musician's fee, what travel costs apply, how long sets run, what equipment each act brings, or the deposit and cancellation terms (the footer links general terms, AGB, which are the place to check). It also does not describe what the photo booth includes.

Who it suits

Wedding Voice suits couples who want to choose from a shortlist of singers, bands and DJs with audio samples, and let one agency handle the contract and communication. It is especially practical for a couple who want a singer at the ceremony and a DJ at the party, booked together. It suits couples in and around Bern and Biel best, given the venues on its blog, though the reviews show the musicians traveling to Gstaad. The caveat, in the agency's own reviews, is that the musicians may not be in direct contact before the day unless the couple asks. Couples who want a single band they have heard live may prefer to book an act directly.
