Stationery designed from a Pinterest board

Maisosana is an online wedding stationery boutique founded by Eladsana Kuganesan, trading as "Maisosana by Kuganesan" in Schaffhausen. It sells digital products: wedding stationery designed to a couple's brief, and ready-made templates, both delivered as files rather than printed cards. The home page headline is "Individuelle Hochzeitspapeterie, nach deinem Pinterest-Board gestaltet" (individual wedding stationery, designed from your Pinterest board), followed by "Keine Vorlage von der Stange. Dein Board, real gedruckt." (no off-the-peg template; your board, printed for real).

The idea is simple. A couple sends the board itself, the exact pins, colors and fonts they like, and Maisosana designs stationery that, in the site's words, looks like the couple and not like a standard Etsy download. The site lists its advantages as fast turnaround, a Pinterest aesthetic, high quality even in digital form, a Swiss boutique, digital convenience, changes at any time, and real before-and-after transformations.

The founder's reasoning

In the about section, Eladsana introduces herself as founder and managing director and describes the problem she set out to solve: „Wir alle kennen dasselbe Problem: Wir haben das perfekte Pinterest-Board für jeden Anlass – doch in der Praxis stossen wir immer wieder auf Hindernisse“ (we all know the same problem: we have the perfect Pinterest board for every occasion, but in practice we keep running into obstacles). Most wedding stationers, she writes, do not offer exactly what a couple wants, or only after endless searching, and a professional designer often costs too much because of what she calls the "Wedding Tax". Maisosana is her answer to that gap.

Two routes: custom design or ready-made

Eigenes Design (custom design). Through the custom design option, Eladsana designs a template exactly to the couple's wishes, working from their board. The FAQ confirms the service: "Ja, über 'Eigenes Design' gestalte ich eine Vorlage exakt nach deinen Wünschen." The site publishes no price for this route, so couples need to ask.

Ready-made designs. For couples who do not want to spend time on a brief, the shop sells finished designs. The home page shows these with prices:

  • Signature-Suite, the bestseller, black and white in a black-tie style: CHF 19.95
  • Save-the-date flyer in newspaper style: CHF 6.50
  • Save-the-date flyer with the couple's own photo: CHF 6.50
  • Ivory invitation with delicate calligraphy: CHF 16.95
  • Red invitation set: CHF 16.95
  • Modern striped invitation: CHF 16.95
  • Emerald monogram invitation: CHF 16.95
  • Modern serif invitation set: CHF 19.95
  • Burgundy invitation suite: CHF 19.95
  • Stationery suite with signs, ten pieces in one design "von der Begrüssung bis zum Dessert" (from the welcome to dessert): CHF 49.95
  • Dusty pink floral stationery suite: CHF 44.95

The shop sorts these into tiers. The single invitations at CHF 16.95 are labeled "Einstieg" (entry level), the sets at CHF 19.95 are "Kern-Suite" (core suite), and the two larger suites are "Premium-Paket". The short descriptions give a feel for the range: the ivory invitation pairs delicate calligraphy with an ivory ground, the striped design combines clear serif type with graphic stripes, the emerald design uses a deep forest green and a large monogram, the modern serif set mixes strong serif lettering with fine, playful line art, and the burgundy suite sets classic white against a strong burgundy red. The newspaper-style save-the-date presents the engagement as a headline, in the style of a wedding newspaper. The larger suite with signs is the one to look at for couples who want signage and table pieces in the same design as the invitation.

The templates are held on Canva, and the FAQ says couples can change colors, text and fonts themselves in a few clicks without any design experience. They are available as a download immediately after purchase.

What Maisosana does not do: printing

The FAQ is explicit that Maisosana does not print. It designs the stationery and delivers high-quality, print-ready files, and the couple decides where and how to print them. For couples who need help choosing a printer, it offers to recommend suitable options in Switzerland. One reviewer did not print at all: her review, headed "GENAU WIE MEIN PINTEREST!", says everyone loved the designs and that she sent them by WhatsApp instead of printing, and saved money ("Noch Kosten gespart!").

Reviews and response time

The home page shows five-star reviews and notes more than 14,000 views on Etsy. Mary Smiths praises very open and precise communication, Lise adapted a design to her needs and recommends it, Sara describes her invitations as minimalist, elegant and modern yet timeless, and Kathleen writes that her questions about editing were answered quickly and that everyone at the party loved her table cards. The FAQ says Eladsana answers personally, usually within 2 to 18 hours.

For couples planning from abroad

Because everything is digital, a couple never needs to visit Schaffhausen: the board goes in by message, and files come back. That makes Maisosana easy to use from abroad. Two caveats matter. The site is written in German, and it does not say whether the custom design conversation can be held in English, so couples should ask. And because the product is a file, printing, paper, envelopes and posting are the couple's own job; couples who want printed cards delivered to guests will need a printer as well.

What the site does not settle

There is no price for custom design, no statement of how many revisions are included beyond "Änderungen jederzeit" (changes at any time), and no lead time for a custom design. It does not say which file formats are delivered for custom work or whether the Canva templates can be translated into another language for a bilingual wedding. It also does not list which pieces the ten-piece suite contains beyond the welcome sign and the dessert, or whether reply cards are part of the invitation sets, so couples should check the product pages before buying.

Who it suits

Maisosana suits couples who know the look they want, have it pinned, and want it turned into stationery at a low cost, and couples happy to edit a ready-made template themselves in Canva. The published template prices are among the lowest a couple will find, and the custom route fills the gap between a template and a full-service designer. It does not suit couples who want printed, finished stationery delivered by one supplier, or who want to see and feel paper samples before choosing.
