Casino de Morges is a historic building on the shore of Lake Geneva at Place du Casino 4 in Morges, in the canton of Vaud, now run as a restaurant and event venue. Its events page offers it for weddings, birthdays, christenings, seminars and company banquets, in three spaces ranging from a salon for 32 people to a Belle Époque theater hall that seats 50 to 220 for a meal. The site describes the combination on offer as historic elegance, a lake view, quality food and personalized service.
A listed building with a new team
The about page, titled "125 ans d'Histoire" (125 years of history), says the building has watched over the lake since 1900. It was built in neo-baroque style and over the years hosted balls, shows, banquets and summer concerts. The site calls it "ce bâtiment iconique et classé", this iconic and listed building, and says it is now starting a new chapter under 2 friends who run it together: Rémy Gravelaine, chef de cuisine and co-manager, and Thibaud Gardette, chef sommelier and co-manager. The page says the two trained in the kitchens of some of the great starred restaurants of France and Switzerland, and that their paths crossed at the Hôtel de Ville de Crissier.
The 3 event spaces
The Salle Belle Époque is the venue's showpiece, described on the events page as a spectacular theater hall ("salle de spectacle") suited to weddings, birthdays, christenings and other private or business events. It seats 50 to 220 people for a meal, and the page mentions its balconies, which in the page's words offer "une vue imprenable sur l'espace", a sweeping view over the room. For a large wedding this is the room that makes the venue.
The Salon du Casino is the intimate option. The page describes a cozy atmosphere for a dinner for two, a family banquet or a small celebration of up to 32 people, and says the salon combines elegance, comfort and historic charm. It suits a small wedding dinner or a rehearsal dinner the evening before.
The restaurant and its terrace complete the offer. The summer terrace takes up to 100 people with a view over Lake Geneva, and the main indoor dining room is described as having an exceptional panorama. For this space, the page states: "L'espace peut être entièrement privatisé, avec des menus et prestations sur mesure", the space can be fully privatized, with tailor-made menus and services, for a wedding, a birthday or a reception in Morges.
The page does not say whether the Belle Époque hall and the salon are rented exclusively or can run alongside other events on the same day, or whether the restaurant stays open to the public while a wedding takes place in the hall.
The kitchen and the cellar
The team is the reason many couples will consider this venue. The about page says Rémy Gravelaine is a former sous-chef of the Hôtel de Ville de Crissier and a winner of the Grand Prix Joseph Favre, and describes his cooking as "précise, exigeante, mais toujours habitée par l'envie de faire plaisir" (precise, demanding, but always driven by the wish to please). He likes big tables and dishes for sharing, and the page says he builds his cooking on the produce of the Lake Geneva region: lake fish, local vegetables and meat of character, without ruling out exceptional produce from elsewhere.
Thibaud Gardette spent more than 7 years at the Hôtel de Ville de Crissier, where the page says he was head sommelier in charge of one of the finest cellars in Europe. The menus page describes the casino's wine list as constantly evolving, built from visits to Swiss and international estates, and ranging from rare, little-known bottles to great renowned wines and exceptional vintages. For a wedding, that means the wine pairing can be a genuine part of the menu discussion rather than an afterthought.
The restaurant's regular offer gives a sense of the style: a weekly lunch menu from Wednesday to Friday, an à la carte menu, and a 4-course market menu that changes each week, served every evening from Wednesday to Saturday and at lunch on weekends. None of those menus is a wedding package, and the events page gives no wedding menus or prices.
Opening hours and booking
The site lists the restaurant's hours as closed Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 to 23:00 Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 to 00:00 Friday and Saturday, and 10:00 to 17:30 on Sunday. These are the restaurant's public hours; the events page does not say whether a private event can run later, or whether events can be held on the closing days.
Enquiries go through the contact form, by email to info@casinomorges.ch or by phone on +41 21 802 62 15. The contact page promises a quick reply.
Language and access
The whole site is in French, and it does not say whether the team works in English. A couple planning from abroad should write in English and ask directly whether the planning and the service on the day can be handled in English, since the site gives no indication either way.
For access, the site gives the address and describes the venue as set between town, lake and mountains on the Vaud Riviera, but it names no train station, parking or shuttle, and it does not offer accommodation. Guests who need a hotel will have to book one separately, and couples should ask about parking for guests arriving by car.
What the site leaves open
Much of what shapes a wedding budget is missing: there are no prices for room hire, menus or drinks, no minimum spend, and no wedding package. The site does not say whether a ceremony can be held on site or only the reception, whether outside suppliers such as florists, bands or DJs are welcome, how late music can play, or how far in advance couples should book. Dietary requirements are not addressed either. All of these are standard questions for a first meeting.
Who it suits
Casino de Morges suits couples who put food and wine at the center of the day and want a historic building on the lake. The range of rooms works for a small wedding of 32 in the salon, a summer reception of up to 100 on the terrace, or a large seated dinner of up to 220 in the Belle Époque hall. The caveats are practical: a French-only site, no published prices, and no information on ceremonies, access or late-night hours, so couples from abroad will need a direct conversation before they can compare it with other venues.
