A private house for small weddings above the vineyards

Les Délices de Lavaux is a gastronomic venue in Puidoux, in the canton of Vaud, at an address the business calls La Maison Blanche, Chemin de la Nachonnaz 2. Its wedding page describes a property facing the Lac de Bret, "au cœur du vignoble classé de l’UNESCO" (at the heart of the UNESCO-listed vineyard), and it is clear about the kind of wedding it wants to host: a small one. The page contrasts couples who dream of a big party with those who prefer "l’élégance d’une célébration intimiste" (the elegance of an intimate celebration), and it is written for the second group.

The business runs more than weddings. Its menu lists gastronomic experiences, private and corporate events, a page on the place and its history, and a section on wines and food pairings. Weddings are one use of the house, and the whole house is given over to the wedding party when they come.

The house and the setting

The wedding page calls the property "une maison de caractère" (a house of character), designed for intimacy and refinement. Its sharpest line is about what the place is not: "Ici, pas de salles impersonnelles ni de banquets anonymes" (no impersonal halls or anonymous banquets here). Instead the couple gets "un cadre authentique et privatisé, réservé uniquement à vos invités" (an authentic, privatized setting reserved for your guests alone). For a couple used to hotels that run several events at once, that exclusivity is the main point of difference.

The setting is the lake and the vines. The page places the house facing the Lac de Bret and surrounded by the Lavaux vineyards, and suggests the landscape as the backdrop for the wedding photographs. Note that the lake named on the page is the Lac de Bret, not Lake Geneva; the business does not mention Lake Geneva at all on its wedding page.

Food and wine

The kitchen is the core of the offer. The page says every wedding is unique and the meal should be too, and that the team builds a "menu sur mesure" (a made-to-measure menu), "inspiré par la saison et vos préférences" (inspired by the season and your preferences), with every course from the starter to the dessert designed to surprise the guests. There is no fixed wedding menu to choose from and no sample menu on the page, so the menu is something the couple develops with the business.

Wine is the second strand. Because the house sits in Lavaux, the page says, it has access to "crus d’exception" (exceptional wines) to accompany the wedding meal, and it names three: Dézaley, Epesses and Saint-Saphorin. The site has its own section on wines and food pairings. For guests from abroad, a dinner built around wines from the surrounding appellations is a very local experience.

Size and approach

The business says outright that it prefers quality to quantity and hosts "mariages en petit comité" (weddings in a small circle), balancing elegance, intimacy and conviviality, far from the bustle of large receptions. It does not put a number on this. A couple should read "small" literally and give their exact guest count in the first message.

The house is not new to this kind of event. The page explains that the team had already organized intimate weddings and private celebrations at Les Délices de Caux, and that the tradition continues at Lavaux in an even more exclusive setting facing the Lac de Bret. Three things, it says, have not changed: the warmth of the welcome, the personalization of every detail, and the wish to create lasting memories.

The wedding page itself is an article in the site's blog and news section rather than a brochure, and it reads as a statement of intent. It closes by describing an intimate wedding by the Lac de Bret, in the heart of Lavaux, as a guarantee of an elegant and sincere celebration, and says the team works with the exacting standards and passion it calls its signature. What it offers, in its own summary, is an exclusive place, refined cooking and a natural setting.

Contact and booking

Wedding requests go through a "Demander une offre mariage" (request a wedding offer) button on the page, a general contact form with a subject line for reservations or information, the phone number +41 79 212 68 80, or the email address oppis@bluewin.ch. The business is also on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, and runs a newsletter.

The wedding page is in French, and it links to no English version. Nothing on the wedding page says whether the team works in English, so a couple writing from abroad should ask in the first message, and should expect the offer itself to come in French.

What the site does not say

The page leaves most of the practical questions open. There is no guest capacity, no price, no package and no minimum spend. It does not say whether a ceremony can take place at the house or in the garden, civil or symbolic, or whether the house is used for the dinner only. It does not describe the rooms, a terrace, an indoor alternative if it rains, or how late the celebration can go on. There is no mention of accommodation, so a couple should ask where guests can stay, and no information on parking, the nearest station or how to reach Puidoux from an airport. The page also does not say whether flowers, music or photography are arranged by the house or left to the couple. Put all of this in the first enquiry.

Who it suits

Les Délices de Lavaux suits a couple planning a small wedding who care most about the meal and the wine, and who like the idea of having an entire house to themselves with a view over the Lac de Bret and the Lavaux vines. It also suits a couple who are happy to plan the details with the team directly rather than pick from a brochure.

It is not the place for a large reception; the business says so itself. A couple who need an English-speaking coordinator, published prices or rooms on site for their guests will have to confirm each of these by email before going further, and should treat the French-only website as a sign that the conversation may continue in French.
