Wedding Diaries
Tap a star to rate
Wedding Diaries is a wedding video business from the canton of Zurich, run by videographer Dominik Zuppiger and signed "Wedding Diaries by DoMotion," with Zurich and Wernetshausen given as its locations. It films weddings in the Zurich region and across Switzerland, and it works with a photographer, Adrian Knobel, who also acts as second shooter. The site publishes 4 packages with prices and a five-step booking process, all in German.
The people
Dominik introduces himself as the person behind Wedding Diaries. "Ich liebe echte Momente," he writes (I love real moments), meaning the unplanned, honest and sometimes slightly chaotic side of a wedding that makes it special, and he says he tries to catch exactly that with his camera: no staged scenes, but memories that feel like the couple. When he is not at a wedding, he is usually outdoors, hiking in the mountains with his wife or freediving, and traveling whenever possible. He thinks that mix shapes his work: relaxed, attentive and always looking for the small, real moments.
Adrian Knobel is introduced as "unser Hochzeitsfotograf und second shooter" (our wedding photographer and second shooter). He writes that photography has held him since he was 18, when a friend handed him a camera at a sports event, and that at Wedding Diaries he is responsible for the wedding photos, aiming to catch the emotional moments, small gestures and big highlights authentically. He also films: he gained his first experience with video and social media through his YouTube channel, and says he has built up wide knowledge over more than 13 years since. His portfolio outside weddings is at fullframepictures.ch.
The packages
Every package on the price page lists 12 hours, and the FAQ says each includes a stay of at least 10 to 12 hours, covering the day "vom getting ready bis zum Hochzeitstanz" (from getting ready to the wedding dance), so couples need not worry about how long they booked.
- Highlightfilm 5-7 Minuten, CHF 2'250: a highlight film of 5 to 7 minutes.
- 1-2 Minuten Teaser + Highlightfilm, CHF 2'500: a short teaser of 1 to 2 minutes as well as the highlight film.
- Highlightfilm mit Tonaufnahmen + Teaser, CHF 3'000: the highlight film with sound recordings, plus the teaser. This is the package for couples who want the original sound of the vows and speeches in the film.
- Fotograf und Videograf kombiniert, CHF 6'500: photographer and videographer together for 12 hours.
Because every package lists the same 12 hours, the difference between the first three is what the couple receives, not how long Dominik stays: a teaser for sharing, and then sound recordings of the ceremony and speeches. For a couple who wants both photos and film from people who already work together, the combined package is the obvious option, with Adrian on photos and Dominik on video.
How booking works
The price page sets out five steps. First, if the date is free in the calendar, couples book it without commitment and share as much as they can. Second, Wedding Diaries gets in touch as quickly as possible to arrange a FaceTime call, to get to know each other, talk through the planned wedding and answer questions about the video. Third, the date is reserved and an order confirmation is sent, and the team offers help with further wedding planning from its own experience if the couple needs it. Fourth, on the day, everything is filmed as discussed. Fifth, the finished wedding video arrives about 4 to 6 weeks after the wedding.
The FaceTime call is a practical format for couples planning from abroad, since the first meeting does not need a trip to Zurich.
The portfolio
The portfolio page presents Wedding Diaries as a videographer from the canton of Zurich with films from Zurich and across Switzerland, and lists 8 couples: Irene and Adrian, Fabienne and Jan, Yara and Angelo, Livia and Jeremy, Melina and Om, Gabi and Andi, Berenika and Luis, and Esthi and Beni. The page describes the goal as catching real emotions and special moments inconspicuously, from the first look to the yes to the party in the evening, and argues that while photos hold single moments, a film tells the whole story of the day, with movement, music and real emotion. It does not name the venues.
The FAQ
The price page has a FAQ with questions that cover most of what a couple would ask: whether a film longer than 4 to 6 minutes is possible, whether they film with a drone, whether they make highlight videos for social media, whether Dominik works alone or with a second videographer, what happens in bad weather, when the film arrives, how it is handed over, whether scenes can be changed afterwards, whether couples can request music, whether the raw footage is available, and what happens in case of illness. The questions are listed as expandable entries, and couples should open each one on the site or raise it on the FaceTime call. The one answer given in full is the coverage answer quoted above.
Contact
The contact details are +41 (0)79 946 51 15 and info@wedding-diaries.ch, and the contact page has a form asking for names, email and the wedding date. It is aimed at couples whose date turns out to be taken, who are unsure whether they want a videographer at all, or who simply have questions, and promises a reply as quickly as possible. The site also links to its terms (AGB's).
What the site does not settle
The site is written in German and does not say whether Dominik and Adrian work in English. An English-speaking couple should ask on the FaceTime call whether planning and the day can run in English. Travel costs for weddings far from Zurich are not stated on the price page, and neither are deposit or cancellation terms beyond the linked terms and conditions.
Who it suits
Wedding Diaries suits couples in and around Zurich, or elsewhere in Switzerland, who want a full day covered at a fixed price and a relaxed, unstaged style, and especially couples who want photos and video from one team. The published prices and the online first meeting make it easy to plan from abroad. The caveats are the German-only site and the need to confirm travel costs and language before booking.
