A beauty institute in Lausanne
Boros Esthetic is a beauty institute in Lausanne, with its address at Rue du Rotillon 20 B, 1003 Lausanne. Its services cover eye beauty, brows, lashes, eyeliner, lips, dermopigmentation, waxing, tattoo removal and professional makeup, and it runs trainings and an online makeup shop. Wedding makeup is one of four makeup services on its makeup page, alongside day, evening and event makeup. The site exists in French and English versions, which is useful for a couple planning from abroad: the price list, return policy and service pages can be read in English, although the makeup page itself is in French.
Wedding makeup
The wedding service on the makeup page is described in one line: "Avec ou sans essai, nous nous déplaçons aussi à domicile sur demande." In English: with or without a trial, and they also come to your home on request. That covers the two questions many brides ask first. A trial is available but not required, and the makeup does not have to happen at the institute.
The page does not add detail about what the wedding makeup includes, how long it takes, or whether the home visit extends to a hotel or venue. The event makeup section says the makeup artist travels for personal or professional events, naming beauty contests, fashion shows and photo shoots, which shows the team works away from the institute regularly. For bridesmaids or family members, the page offers day and evening makeup; the day makeup is pitched for a date, a job interview or simply wanting to feel good, and the evening makeup for a romantic evening, a birthday or a night out with friends.
Training and the Karaja makeup line
The makeup page states that the institute is certified by the Sminkstúdió institute of Barbara Dudás, whom it describes as world and European champion of the OMC, which it calls the most prestigious world championship of professional makeup. It adds that Boros Esthetic trains with recognized professionals and works with long-lasting, waterproof, moisturizing and oil-free products ("longue durée, imperméable, hydratants et sans huile") from the Italian brand Karaja. The page describes Karaja as a prestigious Italian brand since 1985, and a heading on the same page calls the institute an exclusive distributor.
The institute describes its approach to makeup in its own terms: "Perfectionniste et designer avec une vision pour l'harmonie des couleurs et la forme symétrique du visage notre but est d'apporter la beauté et l'élégance, le glamour et le chic". In English, as perfectionists and designers with an eye for the harmony of colors and the symmetrical form of the face, its aim is to bring beauty and elegance, glamour and chic. It considers makeup an art, using professional products for weddings, day or evening makeup, special events, photo shoots, fashion shows and other artistic events.
The online shop
The same page doubles as a shop for the Karaja range, with foundations, concealers, powders, blushers, eyeshadow palettes, eye pencils, mascaras, brow products and several kinds of lipstick, including a waterproof long-lasting lipstick and a liquid matte lipstick. A matte red lipstick, for example, is listed at CHF 14.90. The shop offers a 15% discount with the promo code "BEU". Delivery within Switzerland is by Swiss Post with tracking, takes 1-3 days and is free, and the return policy allows returns within 7 days, with no returns of opened hygiene items such as tweezers or brushes. For a bride who wants to buy the lipstick used on her wedding day for touch-ups, this is a practical option; the site does not say whether the institute provides one as part of the wedding service.
The site also offers gift cards and invites businesses to become distributors of the brand.
Other services
The English price and service pages describe waxing with Italwax film wax for women and men, and a tattoo and permanent makeup removal service using the Li-FT saline solution. The removal page says treatment most often takes up to 4 sessions and can reach 10, depending on the case, and invites clients to send a photo of old permanent makeup for an assessment. Claims about the safety and effectiveness of that method are the institute's own. Both the waxing and removal pages advise booking at least 3 weeks in advance to be sure of availability.
Booking and contact
The institute states that makeup services are by reservation only. The site has an online booking button on every page, a booking and contact form, and the phone number +41 76 221 01 12. The French form promises a reply within 24 hours; the English version says 15 minutes. The shop lists a separate customer service number, +41775020955, and the return policy gives a customer service email address.
What the site does not settle
The site publishes no price for wedding makeup, and the price list page in English covers waxing rather than makeup. It does not say how much the trial costs, how far the makeup artist will travel for a home visit or what that costs, or how early she can start on a wedding morning. It does not name the makeup artist. The 3-week advance booking advice appears on the waxing and removal pages; for a wedding date, the site gives no lead time, so a couple should book as soon as the date is fixed. The site does not state which languages are spoken in the institute, beyond the fact that the site is published in French and English.
Who it suits
Boros Esthetic suits a bride marrying in or around Lausanne who wants the choice of a trial, the option of having her makeup done at home, and a clear idea of the products that will be used. The long-lasting, waterproof character the institute claims for its Karaja products is aimed at exactly the kind of long day a wedding is, and being able to buy the same products afterwards, with free delivery in Switzerland, is a small but useful extra.
The caveats are that there is no published wedding price and no stated travel radius. A couple from abroad will find the English pages helpful for the basics, but should confirm by message what the wedding makeup costs and whether the artist can come to their hotel or venue.
