A mobile hair and makeup team in the Zurich area

Makeup-Partner is the hair and makeup business of Gabriela Wassmer, who has a studio at Haldenstrasse 16 in Brüttisellen and an office in Wallisellen; the homepage title places the business in Zürich. The business describes itself as mobile: its homepage line is «Wir bringen die Schönheit zu dir» (we bring beauty to you), and the wedding page says the team travels to the couple's wedding location. Clients who prefer can also come to the studio. For a bride who wants hair and makeup done where she is getting ready, with published starting prices and a trial built in, it is a transparent offer.

Gabriela writes on her About page that she has worked full-time as a hair and makeup artist for more than 10 years, and that she enjoys the nervous excitement of weddings as much as preparing speakers for an event or styling for a photo shoot. Weddings sit alongside business styling, makeup courses for private clients and training for makeup artists on the same site.

The 3 wedding packages

The wedding page lists 3 packages, each with a starting price and a duration. All 3 include a trial appointment (Probetermin).

  • Paket Gold, hair or makeup, with a trial and styling for the wedding, 1 hour 30 minutes, from CHF 390.
  • Paket Platinum, hair and makeup, with a trial and styling for the wedding, 2 hours, from CHF 690.
  • Paket Diamant, makeup and hair, with a trial and styling for both the civil wedding (Zivile Trauung) and the wedding ceremony (Trauungs-Zeremonie), 2 hours, from CHF 890.

The Diamant package is the one to look at for a couple who marry at the civil registry office on one day and hold their ceremony on another. The prices are marked "ab", meaning from, so the final quote depends on the styling and on what else is added. The wedding page does not publish separate rates for travel or for guests in the bridal party, so those are the figures to ask for when requesting a quote.

The bridal party, timing and the full day

The FAQ on the wedding page answers the practical questions a bride would ask. Asked whether the team has the capacity to style the whole party (maid of honor, mother, mother-in-law, friend, sister), the answer is yes: the business says it will come with the whole team and style everyone. A hair and makeup service takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the look. Very early morning appointments are offered. Makeup-Partner can also be booked for the entire day, to accompany the bride, do touch-ups and change looks when needed, which suits a wedding with a daytime ceremony and a separate evening look.

On how long the result lasts, the business says the styling is done by experts with professional products, is designed to last, and should hold all day. It adds a fair caveat of its own: humidity, rain and wind are beyond its control, lips usually need refreshing, and the complexion needs occasional mattifying for photos. It offers to put together a touch-up kit. Once a date is reserved, the team sends detailed instructions on how to prepare, including skin and hair care tips.

The bride may bring her maid of honor, mother or sister to the trial, and the site recommends bringing someone for a second opinion. For inspiration on looks, the site points to its Pinterest page.

Booking and deposit

Bookings start with the appointment request form on the calendar block or an email to info@makeup-partner.ch, and the business says it responds promptly. A deposit is required, and the date is only definitively reserved once the deposit has arrived. The footer gives a mobile number, +41 79 598 27 94, and the About page lists a landline, 044 830 19 19. The site also offers a free PDF of 10 wedding preparation tips in exchange for an email address.

Language and reviews

The site is written in German. On her About page Gabriela says she likes languages, foreign countries and gardens, and that she has learned 5 languages. She does not list which ones, so a couple who wants to work in English should confirm it in their first message rather than assume it.

The wedding page carries one review, from a bride named Ines, who writes that Gaby created a beautiful bridal styling for her, is talented and very likeable, and responds to her clients' wishes. The About page adds a second, from Anna-Lea, who calls Gaby uncomplicated, flexible and absolutely professional, notes that she does both hair and makeup, says the makeup for her wedding was perfect, and mentions working with her at large business events too. The About page also points readers to further reviews on the business's Google profile.

What the site leaves open

The site does not publish its travel charges, so the cost of bringing the team to a venue outside the Zurich area is a question for the quote. It does not say how far the team will travel, although the homepage and FAQ describe the service as available everywhere and at any time. It gives no per-person rate for bridesmaids or family members and names no other team members. It publishes no booking lead time and no cancellation terms on the wedding page; the footer links to terms and conditions (AGBs), which are the place to check before paying the deposit. It does not state which of Gabriela's 5 languages she works in.

Who it suits

Makeup-Partner suits a bride marrying in the Zurich region who wants hair and makeup done at the venue or hotel, knows roughly what she will pay before asking, and may need several people styled on the same morning. The Diamant package is a practical fit for couples with separate civil and church or celebrant ceremonies, and the full-day option covers weddings that run from a morning ceremony into an evening party.

The caveats are about the extras. Travel, bridal party and full-day rates are not on the wedding page, so the published package price is only the start of the budget. The site is in German, and English is not confirmed. A couple coming from abroad should put the date, the venue, the number of people to be styled and the language question in one request and ask for a complete quote before paying the deposit.
