Make-up by ALBA

Make-up by ALBA is a makeup and hairstyling business run by Alba, a certified makeup artist (diplomierte Make-up Artistin) and hairstylist based at Schönbüelpark 16, 9016 St. Gallen. She works as a mobile service, traveling to clients in Switzerland and in the areas just across the border ("im grenznahen Ausland"), and she also receives clients in her home studio in St. Gallen. For weddings she comes to the bride for both the trial and the wedding day, and her bridal page publishes prices for the bride and for guests. The site is in German.

Training

Her About page lists her training in date order. She completed a makeup artistry program at the Beauty & Style Academy in Zurich from February to August 2023, followed by a Special Effects Workshop there in September 2023 and a Brow & Lashlifting Workshop in October 2023. In November 2024 she attended The Beauty Masterclass with Dário Dos Santos. Hair training followed: a Hair Expert course with Jenny Brändle Hairstyling Coach in Wetzikon in June, July and August 2025. In September 2025 she took a Bridal Masterclass VIP with Jessica Krenn in St. Gallen, and in April 2026 an online Korean Lashlifting training. The same page says that, on behalf of the Beauty & Style Academy, she did makeup for the Elite Model Look Switzerland casting, bootcamp and final in Zurich in June, September and October 2023. The list shows a relatively recent start, since 2023, with regular further training in both makeup and hair, including a bridal masterclass.

The bridal process

The bridal page, headed "Brautstyling mit Herz" (bridal styling with heart), sets out the process. After an inquiry, the bride receives an individual quote. Once she accepts, Alba sends a booking confirmation with a questionnaire and a checklist to prepare for the trial and the wedding. The questionnaire helps her match the styling to the bride and her dress, and brides are invited to send inspiration pictures and a current photo so she can prepare.

She recommends a trial to every bride, saying it gives both of them certainty. They discuss the desired styling in detail and carry it out straight away, trying different versions until they find the right look. The trial takes place at the bride's home, "in vertrauter Umgebung" (in familiar surroundings), so the bride knows exactly how she will look on the day. On the wedding day she travels to the bride, whether at home or directly at the wedding venue. The page closes with her promise of calm, experience and a lot of heart.

Bridal prices

The prices include all consumables. False lashes, rhinestones, hair clips and hair jewelry are charged separately. Travel is charged at CHF 1 per kilometer (there and back), with the first 20 kilometers from St. Gallen included in the prices. A couple marrying further away can work out the travel cost from the venue's distance.

Other services

The offer page presents hair and makeup "aus einer Hand" (from one source). Makeup, covering nude, day and evening makeup, business makeup, film and photo makeup and creative makeup, costs CHF 120 per hour. Hairstyling, including low and high buns, French twists, half-updos, Hollywood and glam waves, curls, straightening and braids, costs CHF 70 per hour, at the client's location or in her home studio in St. Gallen. Event makeup for motorbike parties, festivals, costume balls or a Polterabend (the pre-wedding party) is CHF 120 per hour, and the event page shows looks inspired by the 1920s, 1940s and 1980s, festival looks and pop art. She also offers eyebrow plucking, tinting and lifting, and lash tinting and lifting, which the page says she times according to the lunar calendar ("nach dem Mondkalender").

For a bride's friends before the wedding, there is a girls' evening (Mädelsabend) for 2 or more people: makeup of each person's choice with advice and tips, a bottle of Prosecco and a goodie bag, lasting about 3 hours, at CHF 150 per person. Business clients can ask for flat rates, and gift vouchers are available in any amount.

The site has a portfolio, a references page and a testimonials page, so a couple can see her work before writing. It lists as partners Viktoria Jäger Rareshot, Erik Bont and Vincent Ribbers DEMAKO.

What the site does not settle

The site does not say which languages Alba works in; everything is in German, so a couple from abroad should ask in the first message. It does not say whether the trial can take place at a hotel or holiday rental rather than at home, which matters for a bride who lives abroad and arrives shortly before the wedding. It does not say how far ahead the trial should be, how early she can start on a wedding morning, or how many guests she can style in one morning. Deposit and cancellation terms are not set out on the bridal page, so a couple should read the AGB or ask.

Who it suits

Make-up by ALBA suits a bride marrying in or around St. Gallen and eastern Switzerland, or near the border, who wants hair and makeup from one person, done at home or at the venue, with a clear bridal price list that includes the trial. The guest prices make it easy to add the mother of the bride and the maid of honor, and the girls' evening suits a group of friends before the wedding. The caveats are the German-only site, a trial that the page places at the bride's home, and travel charged per kilometer beyond 20 km from St. Gallen.
