A Mobile Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist in Aargau

Merita Spaija is a certified makeup artist and hair stylist ("zertifizierte Make-up Artistin und Hair Stylistin") working from Bahnhofmatten 22 in 5502 Hunzenschwil, in the canton of Aargau. The title of her homepage describes makeup and hairstyling for weddings, events and photo shoots in Aarau, and the booking page offers three settings for the appointment: at her location, at the client's home, or directly at the wedding venue. She does both makeup and hair, so a bride can book one person for the whole look.

What makes her site useful to a couple planning from a distance is the price page. Bridal makeup, engagement makeup, registry-office makeup and hairstyling all carry a figure in Swiss francs.

The site is in German, with English only in a few headings and the business name ("Make up Artist and Hair Stylist"). It does not say which languages she works in.

Her Approach and Background

The about page is short. Merita writes that for several years she has kept training, through courses, workshops and masterclasses with well-known brands and experienced professionals. The page names neither the brands nor the trainers, and it gives no year for her certification. Her stated aim is to make women glow with looks that underline their personality and natural beauty, and she considers the job done when a client feels confident, beautiful and entirely herself after the styling.

Three short sections describe how she works. Under "Wohlfühlen" (feeling good) she says she creates a relaxed atmosphere for the styling. Under "Schönheit" (beauty) she promises makeup matched to the person and the occasion, professional and long-lasting. Under "Momente" she lists weddings, shoots and events as the occasions she loves to accompany.

The homepage adds three working principles. She is a mobile stylist who comes to wherever the client feels most comfortable. Every look starts with a short preliminary conversation ("kurzes Vorgespräch") to agree what suits the client's type, occasion and wishes. And she works only with professional brands that, in her words, last long, are skin-friendly and hold through the day and the night. Those are her own product claims; a bride with sensitive skin should ask which products she uses.

Prices

The price page, titled "Preise im Überblick" (prices at a glance), lists five services:

  • Abend & Shooting-Make-up (evening and shoot makeup): CHF 100, expressive, for evening events or on camera
  • Braut-Make-Up (bridal makeup): CHF 400, described as radiant, long-lasting and "tränenfest" (tear-proof), and marked "ohne Probetermin" (without a trial appointment)
  • Verlobungs-Make-Up (engagement makeup): CHF 200, an elegant look matched to the dress and setting
  • Standesamt-Makeup (registry-office makeup): CHF 200, stylish and discreet, described as ideal for a civil ceremony in the morning
  • Frisuren (hairstyles): from CHF 120, from updos to soft waves

The bridal price explicitly excludes a trial, and the page gives no price for a trial or for a bridal package that includes one. A bride who wants a test run before the day has to ask for that separately.

Under the heading "Individuelle Wünsche? Kein Problem." (individual wishes, no problem), she notes that the prices are a guide, that she is happy to combine services to order, that special requests can be arranged, and that additional services may carry a surcharge. So a bride who wants makeup and hair together, or makeup for her mother or bridesmaids as well, gets a quote after the first conversation rather than a package price.

For a couple holding the civil ceremony and the celebration on different days, the separate registry-office price is useful, since both appointments can be budgeted from the page. The evening and shoot makeup at CHF 100 is the natural choice for an engagement shoot or for a guest who wants her makeup done for the reception, and the booking form also lists a light day makeup ("Tages-Make-up (light)") that has no price on the price page.

The site carries no gallery of its own. The only portfolio link is to her Instagram account, so a bride who wants to see finished bridal looks, particularly updos and waves, should look there or ask for examples before booking.

Booking

The contact page opens with "Jetzt Termin buchen" (book an appointment now) and restates the mobile offer: she does makeup at her place, at the client's home or directly at the wedding location. It lists opening hours of Monday to Friday 8:00 to 18:00, and Saturday and Sunday 8:00 to 14:00. For a wedding, the weekend hours are worth noting: the published Saturday and Sunday hours end at 14:00, so a bride with a late ceremony should ask how an afternoon or evening wedding is handled.

The inquiry form asks whether the client is private or commercial, which service is wanted (day, evening, shoot, bridal, engagement, registry-office makeup or hairstyles), a subject, a message, an email address and a phone number. Contact is also possible by phone at +41 76 569 2706, by email at info@merita-spaija-mua.ch, or through a WhatsApp link on the site.

What the Site Leaves Open

The site is brief, and a couple planning from abroad will need to ask about several points:

  • Travel area and costs. She describes herself as mobile, but the site names no region she covers and no travel fee.
  • Trial. Bridal makeup is priced without a trial, and no trial price appears.
  • Bridal party. No prices for bridesmaids, mothers or guests.
  • Wedding-day timing. The weekend opening hours end early afternoon; how that applies to a wedding day is not explained.
  • Language. Nothing on the pages mentions English.
  • Deposit and cancellation. No terms are published.
  • Getting to Hunzenschwil. The site gives the address only, with no directions or parking information, which matters if a trial is held at her location.

Who It Suits

Merita suits a bride in the Aarau area, or marrying there, who wants one person for makeup and hair and likes knowing the bridal makeup price before she writes. The separate engagement and registry-office prices suit couples with more than one event to plan. The drawbacks for a couple from abroad are a German-only site, no published trial option, and no stated travel range, so anyone marrying further afield should confirm that she travels that far and what it costs before counting on her.
