An English-Language Makeup Studio in Baar

Nadia Makeup is the makeup and permanent makeup studio of Nadia Tomassini, at Huobriedstrasse 4 (Überbauung Inwil Dorf) in 6340 Baar, in the canton of Zug. The homepage describes makeup services "in Zug und Luzern". For a couple coming from abroad, the most useful fact is simple: the site is written in English, from the service descriptions to the booking pages, so the bride can read the offer, compare prices and book without translation. A block of German search keywords sits at the bottom of the pages, but the content itself is English.

Wedding makeup is one of eight services on the homepage, next to permanent makeup, photoshoot and editorial makeup, event makeup, artistic face and body painting, brow and lash lifting, self-makeup lessons and a professional masterclass.

Nadia Tomassini's Background

The about section says she has been a professional makeup artist since 2009, after training at the Makeup For Ever Academy in Nice, and the homepage speaks of more than 10 years of experience. Her career has included work at the Fribourg Opera and the Vevey Photography School, collaborations on photography and film projects, and teaching as a makeup instructor at aesthetic and professional makeup schools, including one in Geneva. She also spent several years with NARS Cosmetics in London as team leader and trainer; the masterclass page adds that this included testing and assessing aspiring candidates. She writes that she came to permanent makeup later, after seeing what recent advances in the technique offered, and extended her skills from traditional makeup into it.

Wedding Makeup: Trial and Wedding Day

The booking page lists the bridal service in two parts:

  • Wedding Makeup Trial: CHF 130. "We'll try two different looks to find the perfect makeup that matches your style and personality."
  • Wedding Makeup: CHF 190. The page describes it as creating the bridal makeup for the day.

The homepage teaser for wedding makeup says "don't wait for your trial", which is as close as the site comes to a lead time; no number of weeks or months is given. The trial and the wedding day are booked as two separate services, so a bride who lives abroad can book both online and choose whether the trial fits into an earlier visit.

The event makeup page, which covers weddings as well as galas and parties, gives more detail on how an appointment works. It includes makeup matched to the event, outfit and lighting, long-lasting products, and tips on keeping the look fresh for touch-ups and photos. False lashes are an add-on at 30 francs, and the client keeps them. The service is given at the studio in Baar, with an option to come to a home, office or event location; for other locations "a travel fee and additional expenses may apply depending on the location." The artistic makeup page states that travel is free within the canton of Zug. How the travel fee is calculated beyond that is not published, so a couple marrying outside Zug should ask for the figure. Event makeup itself starts from 30 francs, which makes it an option for bridesmaids and mothers who want their makeup done.

Permanent Makeup

The second half of the studio is permanent makeup, and the site treats it with the same prominence as makeup. The booking page lists:

  • a free consultation, described as a no-obligation "design map"
  • eyeliner from CHF 200
  • brows from CHF 490, either "Magic Shading" for a soft, powdery finish or "Hairstrokes" for a natural hair effect
  • lips from CHF 380
  • lash line enhancement from CHF 200
  • a combined permanent makeup offer, described as saving time, from CHF 672
  • maintenance touch-ups from CHF 200
  • removal of old or asymmetrical permanent makeup at CHF 150

The site says the results stay fresh for up to two years, with a touch-up needed every 18 to 24 months. For a bride, the relevance is timing: permanent brows or eyeliner would be done well before the wedding, as part of preparation rather than on the day. The site does not describe healing times or aftercare, and a bride considering it should discuss both with Nadia at the free consultation, along with how far ahead of the wedding it should be done.

Lessons, Lash Lifts and Other Services

A bride who wants to handle her own makeup for the evening, or for the days around the wedding, has two options on the booking page: a private makeup lesson (from CHF 150, a two-hour personalized lesson) and a group lesson with friends (CHF 100) covering day looks to evening glamour. Lash and brow lamination, a lift and tint of the natural lashes and brows, starts from CHF 45. Artistic makeup, including face and body painting, pregnancy belly painting and children's makeup, starts from CHF 140 and needs at least 2 weeks' notice.

The Pro Makeup Masterclass (from CHF 350) is for aspiring artists and covers professional fundamentals, bridal makeup for professionals, contouring, fashion and editorial work, makeup for photography, men's grooming, special effects, theater and opera makeup, and body painting basics.

Booking and Contact

Every service can be booked online through the booking page. The studio works by appointment only, from 8 am to 8 pm; the pages list the days as Monday, Friday and Saturday, so it is worth checking whether that means the whole week up to Saturday. Contact is +41 79 783 33 19 or info@nadiamakeup.ch, and the site also carries a contact form. The footer links to treatment terms, a cancellation policy and a photo release policy, so the studio does have written terms; a couple should read the cancellation policy before paying for a wedding date.

What the Site Leaves Open

  • Travel beyond Zug: a fee "may apply", with no rate published.
  • Lead time: no stated number of weeks or months for bridal bookings.
  • Hair: the site describes makeup only, so a separate hairdresser is needed.
  • Lucerne: the homepage names Zug and Lucerne as service areas, but the only address given is the studio in Baar.
  • Wedding parties: there is no bridal-party package, only the per-person event makeup price.

Who It Suits

Nadia Makeup suits a bride marrying in the Zug area who does not speak German and wants to read, compare and book in English. The trial and wedding-day prices are published separately, and the event makeup rate makes it easy to add bridesmaids. A bride who wants permanent brows or eyeliner before her wedding can do that in the same studio. The caveats are the absence of any hair service, a travel fee outside Zug that is only set on request, and a trial that, for a couple living abroad, has to fit around a trip to Baar.
