Simone Egner

Tap a star to rate

Simone Egner is a makeup artist and hairstylist (Visagistin) who lives and works in St. Gallen. She works for film productions, photo shoots, weddings, business shoots and events, and her site sets out 3 wedding packages for the bride, each of which includes a trial appointment ahead of the day. Her website still runs under her maiden name, Häller, which is why the address reads simonehaeller.com.

The 3 wedding packages

The site lists the wedding offer as three numbered packages, and the difference between them is simply what gets done on the day:

  • Paket 1, Komplett-Paket für die Braut. Makeup and hairstyling on the wedding day, including an "ausführlichem Probetermin im Voraus", a detailed trial appointment in advance.
  • Paket 2, Make-up. Bridal makeup on the wedding day, including a trial appointment in advance.
  • Paket 3, Hairstyling. Bridal hairstyling on the wedding day, including a trial appointment in advance.

Only the complete package describes its trial as detailed ("ausführlich"). The other two list a trial without that word, which a bride choosing between them may want to ask about: whether the makeup-only or hair-only trial is shorter, and what it covers.

For a couple from abroad, the value of this structure is that the trial is part of every package rather than an extra line on the invoice. The look is agreed before the wedding morning, with the same person who will do it on the day, and there is time to change something that does not feel right.

The packages are written for the bride. The page does not mention bridesmaids, mothers or guests. It does, however, describe her general hair and makeup service as bookable by the hour, by the half day or by the full day, and it names weddings among the jobs for that booking. The page does not say whether that booking covers styling several people on a wedding morning, or how many, and that is the thing to settle in the first message.

How she works

Her about section describes an experienced makeup artist who combines professionalism with a calm, pleasant way of working. In her words, "Ich nehme mir bewusst die Zeit und Geduld, die für ein präzises Ergebnis nötig sind, und begegne meinen Kunden mit Freundlichkeit und Diskretion" (I deliberately take the time and patience a precise result needs, and I meet my clients with friendliness and discretion).

Her focus, she writes, is makeup that suits the person ("typgerechtem, professionellem Make-up") and that convinces both in front of the camera and in person. What matters to her is that the client feels comfortable and that the result looks natural and coherent. She lists flexibility, punctuality and pleasant cooperation as things she takes for granted.

On location she is clear: "Gerne komme ich direkt zum Einsatzort", she is happy to come straight to the place of the job. For a wedding, that means she comes to wherever the bride gets ready, rather than the bride traveling to her. The site gives her address as Kleinbergstrasse 18 in St. Gallen but does not describe a studio there.

The site does not list her training or qualifications. It describes her as experienced and lets the client list make the case.

Clients and portfolio

The client list is long for a one-person practice and gives a sense of the work behind the wedding packages. Companies named include the St.Galler Kantonalbank, FC St.Gallen Event AG, Migros Ostschweiz, Abacus Research AG, Theater St.Gallen, Naturcoiffeur Weishaupt, the bridal atelier J. Grubenmann and the handball club TV Uster.

On the photography side she names Niklas Niessner, Patrick Itten, Matthias Krattenmacher, Manuel Eichmann, Ladina Bischof, Anna-Tina Eberhard and Rissi Fotografie. Film and video work includes Nektar GmbH, ARTE TV (the culture program TWIST), Kinamo GmbH, ON AIR Videoagentur Graubünden, SWISSFILM, Filmklang Vision GmbH and Raiffeisen St. Gallen.

The galleries section has a set labeled Hochzeiten (weddings), two sets made with Atelier J. Grubenmann, one for TV Uster Handball, one with Matthias Krattenmacher and a music video, "MOUNTAINS" by Josephine Assayech. Judging by the client list, much of her work is camera work, which is relevant to a bride: makeup that has to hold up under film lights and close-up lenses is the same discipline as makeup that has to look right in wedding photographs taken over a long day.

Other services

Two more offers sit next to the wedding packages. A 1:1 coaching session is an individual makeup lesson in which she and the client work out a personal style and simple techniques for everyday or event makeup. And every offer is also available as a gift voucher (Gutschein), which the site suggests as a present idea.

What the site does not say

  • Prices. No package has a price on the site. The page says she is glad to answer questions and prepare an offer (Offerte), so a quote on request is the route.
  • Travel. She comes to the location, but the page does not state how far she travels or whether travel is charged.
  • Language. The site is written only in German, addressing the reader with "Du". It does not mention English or any other language, so a couple who does not speak German should ask directly.
  • Booking terms. There is no stated lead time, deposit or cancellation rule. Contact is by email, phone or WhatsApp.
  • Group styling. How many people she can prepare on one wedding morning is not stated (see above).

Who it suits

Simone Egner suits a bride marrying in or around St. Gallen who wants a trial built into the price, a calm and discreet working style, and a makeup artist used to cameras. The choice between hair only, makeup only or both is set out plainly, which makes it easy to ask for exactly the part that is needed, for example when the bride already has a hairdresser she trusts.

The caveats are the ones common to a small German-language practice: no prices on the page, no stated language beyond German, and no word on bridesmaids. None of these is unusual for a Swiss makeup artist, and her invitation to get in touch and receive an offer is the direct way to settle them.
