A mobile bridal stylist with a studio in Brüttisellen

YOURMAKEUP is the hair and makeup business of Chantal, who works from a studio in Brüttisellen, which her site places between Zurich and Winterthur. Bridal styling is her specialty, and her mobile bridal service can be booked anywhere in Switzerland. She also does hair and makeup for other occasions and runs makeup courses for private clients at the studio. What sets the site apart is a full price list for the wedding, including guest styling, travel and a trial.

Chantal's background

Her about page says she completed her training as a makeup artist in 2010, followed by further training, including in hairstyling. Her biggest success so far, she writes, was 3rd place at the Swiss makeup championship (Schweizer Make-up Meisterschaft) in 2016. In recent years she has specialized in natural bridal styling. She lives in Brüttisellen with her small family, and her studio is there too.

She describes her aim as helping the bride feel like herself on her big day, only more beautiful than ever, and says her clients value her reliability and the way she brings out their best features with natural makeup and hairstyling. Her motto closes the page: "Je mehr du bist wie du bist, desto mehr strahlst du" (the more you are as you are, the more you shine).

Photography is another passion. She photographs her stylings with her own camera and gives the pictures to her brides as a keepsake. The about page also links a podcast episode with her on bridal styling, and points to Instagram and Facebook for current work.

How a booking works

The bridal service page lays out the steps:

1. The bride fills in the contact form with all the relevant details.
2. If Chantal is not yet booked for the date, the bride receives a quote and then an order confirmation.
3. A trial appointment is set in due course. Before it, the bride receives a Brautstyling Guide (bridal styling guide) that answers her questions.
4. At the trial they discuss everything needed to match the styling to the bride, her dress and the wedding, and Chantal then creates the look.

The price page adds that the trial ideally takes place about 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding and is held at the studio in Brüttisellen. On the wedding day she comes to the bride for a relaxed styling, ideally, as she puts it, in a comfortable outfit (the bridal page suggests a bathrobe) with a glass of Prosecco alongside the maid of honor.

Her styles are mainly natural and modern, she writes, though she also likes romantic and playful looks. Among the listed benefits of the mobile service: the whole package of hair, makeup and advice from one person, no unnecessary driving on the wedding day, a personal timeline for the day, and a large case of high-quality makeup and styling products used only for the bride that day, meant to create a look that lasts into a night of dancing.

Bridal prices

The price list is headed "Brautstyling - Preise (Preise 2027 auf Anfrage)", with 2027 prices on request.

• Bridal makeup and hairstyling, CHF 750. Makeup and hair on the wedding day (2.5 to 3 hours), including a trial (2.5 to 3 hours), consultation and preparation by email or phone, and individual lashes.
• Bridal makeup or hairstyling only, CHF 490. One of the two, including a trial (1.5 to 2 hours), consultation and preparation by email or phone.
• Bridal styling without a trial, CHF 390. Makeup and hairstyling on the wedding day (2.5 hours) with a brief preparation by email, and only at the studio. This option is not mobile: the bride comes to Brüttisellen on the wedding morning.

Guests, travel and extras

Guest styling. A guest package of makeup and hair costs CHF 250. Guest makeup without a trial is from CHF 120 and guest hairstyling without a trial from CHF 130, both depending on the work involved. Individual lashes cost CHF 25.

Travel. She comes to the place of the bride's choice. Travel is a flat CHF 60 within 20 km of postal code 8306, and CHF 1 for each further kilometer, counted for the outward and return journey.

Hair extensions. She works with clip-in extensions, can advise on them at the trial, has several colors at the studio to try and borrow, and will order extensions in the bride's hair color. Prices on request.

Hair accessories. A large selection at the studio, best chosen after the trial once the hairstyle is fixed. Prices on request.

Touch-up on the day. On request she stays with the bride on the wedding day to refresh her makeup, for example before the photo shoot, and can freshen up the guests too. Price on request.

The general services page gives an hourly rate of CHF 130 including general consumables, plus travel and special materials such as special lashes, clip-in extensions, rhinestones and hair accessories. Payment terms are by arrangement, in cash or by bank transfer.

Courses and other occasions

For other occasions, the services page lists evening, gala or festive makeup from CHF 120, makeup for a photo shoot, hairstyling (straightening, curls) from CHF 120 and updos or half-updos from CHF 130.

The courses page offers a VIP makeup course for 1 person (about 2 to 3 hours, CHF 350), a group course or makeup party for 4 or more people (about 2.5 to 3 hours, CHF 120 per person) and a Learning by Doing course for 2 to 3 friends (about 2.5 to 3 hours, CHF 165 per person), all at the studio with a glass of Prosecco. The group course is also offered as a Polterabend, the German-speaking version of a bachelorette party, which makes it a possible pre-wedding event for the bride and her friends. All services are available as gift vouchers.

What the site leaves open

• Language. The whole site is in German, and English is not mentioned. A couple who does not speak German should ask when first writing.
• Trial from abroad. The trial is at the studio, ideally 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. A bride who cannot be in Switzerland then is left with the no-trial option, which is only available at the studio.
• Group size. The number of guests she can style on one morning is not stated.
• Deposit and cancellation. The site links general terms (AGBs), but the pages here do not set out a deposit or cancellation rule.

Who it suits

YOURMAKEUP suits a bride who wants a clear price before she writes, a natural and modern look, and one person handling hair and makeup, with guests styled on the same morning. The travel formula lets a couple work out the full cost for a venue anywhere in Switzerland.

The caveats are the German-only site and the studio trial, which a couple from abroad has to fit in weeks before the wedding.
