A two-studio school east of Zurich with priced wedding courses
dance4fun is a dance school with two studios in the canton of Zurich, at Barzloostrasse 18 in 8330 Pfäffikon ZH and at Uster West 2 in 8610 Uster. The school says it has offered courses in dance, fitness and movement since 2003. Its wedding page is detailed: it names the dances, lists the course dates and publishes the price, per couple and per person. For a couple planning from a distance, that means the cost and the calendar can be settled before the first phone call.
The site is entirely in German and does not mention teaching in English. That is the one point a non-German-speaking couple has to raise directly with the school.
The basic wedding dance course
The wedding dance course (Hochzeitstanzkurs) is billed as dance preparation for couples, witnesses and family members. It teaches the basic steps and right turns of the English Waltz, and the basic step and first simple figures in Jive and Disco Swing (Disco Fox). No previous experience is needed. On the first course day the school serves a small apéritif, which the page notes is on the house.
The school recommends the course not only to the couple but also to the witnesses, the bride's parents, the family, all the wedding guests and friends, and suggests making a shared experience of it. For a wedding where the couple wants the floor to fill quickly after the first dance, booking a few extra places for family is a practical idea.
The prices are stated plainly:
- Fr. 320.00 per couple, or Fr. 175.00 per person when registering alone, for 5 x 1h 30min or 6 x 1h 15min
- Fr. 360.00 per couple, or Fr. 195.00 per person when registering alone, for 4 x 2h
The dates listed for the basic course are all in Uster, in 5 x 1h 30m format. A Monday course runs from 19:00 to 20:30 between 28.09.2026 and 26.10.2026. Sunday courses start in three blocks, 18.10.2026 to 15.11.2026, 22.11.2026 to 20.12.2026 and 17.01.2027 to 14.02.2027, with slots at 16:00, 17:30, 19:00 and 20:30 (the 19:00 slot is not listed in the November to December block). Registration is online, by clicking the sign-up link beside the chosen date.
The follow-up course and the Disco Fox course
Couples who finish the basic course can continue with Folge Hochzeitstanzkurs 2. Here they learn the Viennese Waltz for the first time, add the left turn and further simple figures to the English Waltz, and extend Disco Swing and Jive by 1 to 2 new figures. The basic course is a prerequisite. Witnesses, parents, family, guests and friends remain welcome. The same two price levels apply, with a third option: Fr. 270.00 per couple or Fr. 150.00 per person for 3 x 2h. No dates for the follow-up course appear on the page.
The third wedding course focuses on Disco Fox alone, which the page presents as a modern, varied way to open the dancing. It teaches the basic step (the 4-step), various changes of place and 6 to 7 simple figures, with no previous experience needed and the same prices as the basic course. It runs in Pfäffikon ZH in 6 x 1h 15m format: on Tuesdays from 19:10 to 20:25 or from 20:30 to 21:45 between 29.09.2026 and 03.11.2026, and on Sundays from 20:30 to 21:45 between 04.10.2026 and 08.11.2026. For couples who prefer something upbeat to a waltz, this is the obvious choice.
The studios and practicalities
The homepage lists what the school provides: qualified teachers who teach with enthusiasm, a bar, a cloakroom, a play corner and air-conditioned rooms, "Gratis Parkplätze direkt vor den Tanzlokalen" (free parking directly in front of the studios) and "Gute Anbindungen an das ÖV Netz (Zug und Bus)" (good connections to the public transport network by train and bus). The site does not name specific stations or bus stops.
The school also notes a dance support contribution from certain Swiss health insurers, naming SWICA, AXA, CSS, HELSANA, ÖKK, KPT, GLARNER and SUMISWALDER, with a refund toward its courses of Fr. 50 up to Fr. 900 per year depending on the insurer. It asks students to check this with their own insurer.
Trial lessons can be booked for many courses by choosing a trial date in the sign-up, but the homepage states this is not possible for couple dances. The menu also lists requests for private lessons (Anfrage Privatstunden), gift vouchers, dance evenings, holidays and timetables, and general terms.
Contact is by phone on 079 441 51 52 or 079 431 91 14, or by email through an address the site protects from spam bots. The closing line on every page is "Bei uns macht Tanzen lernen Spass!" (with us, learning to dance is fun).
The wider program
The course menu is long. Couple dances include Disco Swing and Disco Fox, a couple-dance mix, Salsa and Bachata, West Coast Swing, Cha Cha Cha and Rumba, and Jive. For adults there are Hip Hop and Streetdance, Afro Dance Mix, Reggaeton, easy ballet, Body Ballett Fit, jazz dance, contemporary, Heels Dance, belly dance, Burlesque, K-Pop, Chair Dance, Line Dance, Zumba and more. The children's and youth program starts at age 3, and the school says no one is ever too old to dance.
What the page leaves open
The wedding page does not say how private lessons are priced or whether a choreography to the couple's own song is possible, beyond the menu link to request private lessons. It does not state a teaching language, and it gives no dates for the follow-up course. A couple who wants lessons at the wedding venue or on the day would need to ask, since the page describes only courses at the two studios.
Who it suits
dance4fun suits couples living east of Zurich, around Uster or Pfäffikon ZH, who want to plan with real numbers: a fixed price per couple, set dates and a clear syllabus. The invitation to parents, witnesses and friends, the Sunday evening slots and the apéritif make it a sociable choice. The caveats are a German-only site with no stated English teaching, and group courses that cover standard figures rather than a personal routine.
