A large couple-dance school near Lenzburg
TanzFabrik (Die TanzFabrik) is a dance school in the Hetex-Areal at Lenzburgerstrasse 2, 5702 Niederlenz, in the canton of Aargau. Its homepage calls it the largest dance school in the greater Lenzburg area, with the largest course program in the region, and says around 400 customers come and go every week and that 10'638 new customers have learned to dance there since 1997. It is led by its founders and owners, Susi Tirsek and Markus Fischer, and is a member of swiss dance, the Swiss dance teachers' association. Its tagline begins "Tanzträume leben" (living dance dreams) and adds three words: enthusiastic, precise, sustainable.
For couples it runs a wedding dance course (Hochzeitstanzkurs), private lessons with a choreography to their own music, and crash courses for wedding guests. The site is in German and does not mention teaching in English.
The wedding dance course
The course is for beginners and needs no previous experience ("Für Anfänger, keine Vorkenntnisse notwendig"), so that you feel comfortable during the wedding dance on the most beautiful day of your life. It covers three dances: Viennese Waltz, slow waltz (Langsamer Walzer) and Discofox. It runs as 4 x 1h or 2 x 2h. The page lists what couples get from it: moving confidently across the floor on the day, tips around the wedding dance floor so that the day can be enjoyed without worry, and the school's commitment to helping couples enjoy the dance and leave a lasting impression. It also links to a wedding dance checklist.
The page currently shows no course dates ("Es sind zurzeit keine Einträge für diesen Kurs vorhanden"). For couples who cannot find a suitable date, the page suggests a private lesson, bookable on 062 891 21 71.
Private lessons and choreography
The private-lesson route is the one most wedding couples will want, because of one sentence on the page: "Wir machen Ihnen eine passende Choreographie auf Ihre Lieblingsmusik." (We create a suitable choreography to your favorite music.) The school also runs a music download shop where couples can look for their favorite music.
For the guests, the page points to the school's crash dance courses (Crashtanzkurse), offered for events, so that friends and family can join in after the first dance.
Teaching philosophy
The philosophy page is direct about who the school suits. It says it is for active couples who want to learn the basics of dancing precisely and with all the finer points of each dance. "Nur Schritte aneinanderreihen ist nicht unser Ding" (just stringing steps together is not our thing): the whole body is involved, so students will sweat a little more than elsewhere, and the result will look better for it. It also says who will not feel at home: anyone who wants to learn as many figures as fast as possible without regard to quality.
The teachers, it says, combine the swiss dance teacher diploma with experience from competitive dance sport, and it describes itself with the line "Wir sind die Experten für schönes und präzises Paartanzen" (we are the experts in beautiful and precise couple dancing). The homepage adds that the school gets even two left feet dancing with plenty of patience, and lists video support in its basic, hobby and Discofox courses. Among its reasons to learn there, it names enriching a partnership with something new, switching off from everyday life while meeting nice people, and no longer needing an excuse at the next dance event, which is more or less the situation of every couple before a wedding.
The team page lists, among others, Markus Fischer and Susi Tirsek as founders and owners, Philipp Anliker and Isabelle Florin as couple-dance teachers, Leansy Arbolaez Fernandez (born in Cuba) and Denise Arbolaez Fernandez, who has long tournament experience in Latin, as well as teachers for Zumba, dancit and seniors.
The premises
The homepage describes 450m² of dance space in 3 large, bright rooms with wooden parquet, and free parking in front of the building. It calls the school a WiFi-free zone, "deiner Gesundheit zuliebe" (for the sake of your health). Public dance evenings take place regularly at its partner venue, dieTanzhalle, and the school rents out dance and teaching rooms. Its menu also lists Salsa, Merengue and Bachata, courses for single people, new Night Club 2-Step workshops and tips for a first visit to a dance course.
The school also sets out its environmental record. Since 2007 it has taken part of its electricity from the Aabach hydroelectric plant in the Hetex-Areal, and since 2013 that plant has covered 100% of the electricity needs of the TanzFabrik and the TanzHalle. It switched to energy-saving lamps in 2008 and to LED lighting in 2019, has driven a hybrid car since 2008, and serves only organic wines at its bar.
Holidays and planning
The wedding course page lists the school's holiday breaks, during which all courses pause: autumn holidays from 26.09.26 to 11.10.26, Christmas from 19.12.26 to 03.01.27, Easter from 26.03.27 to 29.03.27, spring holidays from 10.04.27 to 25.04.27, Ascension from 06.05.27 to 09.05.27, Pentecost from 14.05.27 to 17.05.27, summer from 03.07.27 to 08.08.27, then autumn and Christmas again in 2027. A couple planning lessons in the weeks before a wedding should check their dates against these breaks.
Contact
The school can be reached on 062 891 21 71 or at info@tanzfabrik.ch. The homepage also mentions an online course consultation.
What the site leaves open
The wedding course page gives no price, and no dates are currently listed for the group course. It does not say how many private lessons a choreography usually takes, what they cost, or whether lessons can take place at the wedding venue. It does not describe public transport access, only the address and free parking. The teaching language is not stated.
Who it suits
TanzFabrik suits couples in Aargau and around Lenzburg who want a compact, beginner-friendly wedding course in the three classic wedding dances, or a private choreography to their own song, taught by a school that takes technique seriously. Crash courses for guests and free parking are practical pluses. The caveats are a German-only site, no published prices, and no current dates for the group course, so most couples will start with a phone call about private lessons.
