What it is

TANZLABOOR Tanzschule Luzern is a dance school with its studio at Nidfeldstrasse 1, 6010 Kriens, which the site labels Kriens (Luzern). It teaches weekly classes for adults, teenagers, children and people with disabilities, in styles the home page lists as modern ballet, ladystyle, heels dance, commercial, house, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, pilates and power dance. For couples, its offer page has one relevant item: private lessons for a wedding dance (Hochzeitstanz) or a Polterabend, a party held before the wedding.

TANZLABOOR also teaches in the canton of Zug, under the name Tanzlaboor Zug, with the same "What moves you?" motto. Its lead teacher in Lucerne, Elisa, lists her teaching post as "Tanzlaboor, Luzern & Zug". Each location has its own website, contact person and price list, and the Zug side is described further down.

The wedding offer

The offer page groups private lessons, the wedding dance and the Polterabend under one heading. Its description is short: the lesson is for one person or a small group, the teachers work individually on the student's knowledge, wishes and goals, and they offer a flexible appointment. It ends with an invitation to send a request, and the price shown on that page is "AUF ANFRAGE" (on request).

That means a couple contacts the school with their song, their date and their level, and the lessons are planned around that. The page does not name dance styles for the wedding, so a couple who want a waltz, a salsa or a choreographed number to a pop song should say so up front. Given the school's weekly timetable, which is weighted toward modern, commercial, heels and hip hop classes, a contemporary or choreographed first dance plays to its strengths; a couple set on a traditional ballroom dance should ask whether that is taught. The site's own search description also mentions Latin.

For a Polterabend group, the same private-lesson format applies: a small group can book a session together. The page does not give a group size limit.

Prices

The price page lists a 1h Privatlektion (one-hour private lesson) at CHF 90, in both the adult and the children's sections. The wedding page itself says "on request", so a couple should confirm whether wedding lessons are charged at that rate.

The group-class rates, for couples who live nearby and want to dance regularly before the wedding, are:

  • Trial class (Schnupperlektion) for adults: CHF 15; for children and teens it is free.
  • Light Abo: CHF 100 per month, one class a week, 16 lessons from August to November 2026 (25 per hour).
  • Medium Abo: CHF 176 per month, two classes a week, 32 lessons over the same period (22 per hour).
  • Children and teens, Single Abo: CHF 336, one class a week, 16 lessons from August to November 2026 (21 per hour).

Entry is possible at any time, and missed adult lessons can only be made up during the subscription period. All prices refer to the school's terms (AGB).

The home page timetable shows what a regular week looks like: classes run Monday to Thursday evenings between 18:00 and 21:00, from Power Pilates and Power Dance at open level to modern dance, hip hop, commercial and heels dance at levels from starter to advanced, with a trial-class button on most of them. One beginner commercial class is marked fully booked. The page also advertises one-day workshops with guest teachers, such as a choreography class with Anna Varini on 23 March 2025 and a contemporary fusion workshop with Lara Witschi on 13 April 2025.

The Zug location

The Zug website, tanzlaboor.ch, gives its address as Buonaserstrasse 23, 6343 Risch-Rotkreuz, and its contact as Nadja on 079 266 24 16 or tanzlab@outlook.de, with a contact form on the home page. Its search description says it offers inclusive dance classes for adults and young people in jazz contemporary, waacking and urban styles, for dancers on foot and in wheelchairs, as well as wedding dance courses and private lessons.

The wedding offer sits on its own menu item, HOCHZEITSTANZ, which the offer page introduces with the question "Alles schon bereit für die Hochzeit, nur der Tanz fehlt noch?" (everything ready for the wedding, only the dance still missing?). The private lesson is described in the same words as in Lucerne: alone or in a small group, tailored to the student's knowledge, wishes and goals, with a flexible appointment, booked by sending a request.

Regular group classes in Zug are on a break for now: the home page says the school is pausing its weekly group courses and that more information will follow. The offer page still lists Dancefusion, a class for people with neurological and physical impairments, with or without a wheelchair, mixing jazz, commercial and contemporary dance, and a jazz contemporary class for adults returning to dance or starting out. The Zug price page lists a 10-class pass for 60-minute lessons at 280 francs, a single lesson at 32 and a trial lesson at 10, with the pass to be used within six months. It gives no separate price for wedding lessons.

The Zug team page presents two teachers. Nadja has taught at Tanzlaboor Zug and Luzern since 2022. She trained as a dance teacher with Matchless and Tamara Gassner (2017-2018), studied stage dance at the ZTTS (2018-2020) and completed a Bachelor of Science in Sport at the EHSM (2021-2024), and she has worked as a sports therapist, including at the Paraplegic Center in Nottwil. Ladina trained in stage dance in Berlin and is studying psychomotor therapy at the HFH Zürich (2023-2027); her experience includes leading dance for young people with disabilities at a PluSport camp.

The team

The home page names Elisa, Laura, Leonie, Francesca, Nando and Lea, calling the team "klein aber oho" (small but mighty). The team page gives training details for three of them.

Elisa is the contact person on every page. She trained as a dance teacher with Matchless and Tamara Gassner in Zug (2017-2018) and earlier as a care professional specializing in disability care (Fachfrau Betreuung, 2015-2018). Later training includes The Galen Hooks Method in London (2019), a Liebscher and Bracht pain therapy course (2020), a 200-hour yoga teacher training, reformer pilates instructor training (2023-2024) and functional group training. She has taught at Tanzlaboor since 2017, has run a dance course for people with impairments at Rotdegg since 2020, coaches at the School Dance Award Zug and does freelance prevention work for SUVA. Her motto is "...and if you stumble make it part of your DANCE!"

Laura holds a diploma in dance pedagogy from Matchless Dance & Arts in Hünenberg (2024-2025) and works as a primary school teacher in the city of Lucerne. She has taught at Tanzlaboor Luzern since 2024 and previously led classes at the Because I Love dance school in Bürglen, Uri.

Tanja trained in contemporary and urban stage dance at TanzwerkZH (2021-2024), with an internship at the Tanzfest Winterthur, and has taught at Tanzlaboor Luzern since 2025.

What the site does not settle

  • Language. The site is in German, with English phrases in its headings and timetable ("Book trial class", "Where the magic happens"). No page says whether private lessons can be taught in English.
  • Wedding price and format. Listed as on request; no lesson count or length is suggested.
  • Lead time. No guidance on how far ahead of the wedding to start.
  • Location of lessons. The addresses are the studio in Kriens and Buonaserstrasse 23 in Risch-Rotkreuz for Zug; the Lucerne site has a page on the room (Raum), but neither site says anything on teaching at a couple's home or venue.
  • Access. The site gives the street address only, with no public transport or parking details.

Contact is by phone to Elisa on 076 535 11 77, by email to info@tanzlaboor-luzern.ch, or through the form on the home page.

Who it suits

The school suits couples living in or near Lucerne or Zug who want a modern studio and a first dance with a contemporary or choreographed feel. The published hourly rate for private lessons and the low-cost trial class make it easy to test the fit before committing. Friends planning a Polterabend with a dance element can book a group session through the same channel. The teachers' experience with dancers with disabilities may also matter to some couples; the team can say what is possible.

It is less suited to couples who need English confirmed before booking, want a formal ballroom school, or live far from central Switzerland and cannot attend several lessons in Kriens or Zug.
