Tanzschule Wingling

Tanzschule Wingling is a dance school in St. Gallen whose website headline reads In St.Gallen + Mobil: it teaches private lessons at its own school in St. Gallen and, on request, comes to the student's home or another chosen place. Couples preparing a wedding dance are one of the two groups its private lessons are written for. The other is couples and singles looking for a relaxed new hobby. The school also runs dance evenings for clubs, associations and companies, and a summer dance week in Arosa.

The wedding dance

The private-lessons section says they suit couples "die sich ohne Stress auf den Hochzeitstanz freuen wollen" (who want to look forward to their wedding dance without stress). The benefits it lists over a regular course are that lessons can happen away from the school at home, that age does not matter, that singles do not need to find a partner, and that you learn to dance the way you feel most comfortable. It promises exclusive time, no crowded dance schools and no rigid course times, and says the student decides when to learn to fit their daily life. Its line on the atmosphere: "Kein Stress, keine Zuschauer, nur du und die Musik bestimmen das Tempo" (no stress, no spectators, only you and the music set the pace).

On the choice of dance, the page reads: "Egal ob Discofox, Walzer, Salsa oder ganz persönlicher Hochzeitstanz. Du hast die Wahl!" (Discofox, waltz, salsa or a completely personal wedding dance: your choice). For a couple, that means the first dance can be a standard partner dance learned properly, or something built around their own song.

The site does not suggest how many lessons a wedding dance needs or how far ahead to start. With lessons booked individually rather than as a course, the couple sets both.

The page says the teachers come to a chosen place, but it does not state how far they travel from St. Gallen or whether a travel charge applies. Couples living elsewhere in eastern Switzerland should ask.

Groups, clubs and companies

A separate section offers the same mobile idea to clubs, associations, companies and groups. The school brings its sound system and runs one or more dance evenings in the group's gym, community hall or restaurant room; the group provides the room. No experience is needed ("Keiner braucht Vorkenntnisse. Wir starten locker und alle kommen mit"), and the format can be a one-off evening or a short taster course over a few weeks. Dance holidays in Arosa

The page says young and older dancers meet there, and it quotes one participant, Moritz Schönenberger from Altstätten, who writes that a week of dancing under expert guidance, in fine surroundings and with good food, is worth two weeks of vacation.
