kids2events

kids2events is a childcare service for weddings, company events and family celebrations, run by events2people gmbh at Lindenbergstrasse 1 in 8908 Hedingen. It sets up a play area at the wedding and looks after children aged 3 to 12 with games, crafts and a quiet lounge, and offers one-to-one care for the youngest guests under 3, so that parents can stay at the party.

Who runs it

The business is led by Markus Lutz, who describes himself as "DJ, Eventplaner und Geschäftsführer" (DJ, event planner and managing director). On the about page he writes that he is a devoted family man, and that his many years as a DJ and event planner taught him how important tailored childcare is at celebrations for young and old. His summing-up line is "Sind die Kids glücklich, sind es auch die Eltern" (if the kids are happy, so are the parents).

The team, the same page says, consists of "pädagogischen Fachkräften", trained educators, who shape the children's day in an empathetic, responsible and competent way. The aim is to excite the children without overwhelming them, and to respond to each child "je nach Temperament und Tageslaune", according to temperament and mood on the day. kids2events handles the whole organization and content of the childcare so that the hosts have nothing to arrange.

The wedding service

The wedding page opens with the observation that when you marry, children are probably as much a part of your guest list as adults. The childcare is designed for 3 to 12-year-olds, combining classic games with creative activities. The page lists the building blocks:

Timing on the day

The couple decides when the childcare starts: "Ob bereits während der Trauung, beim Aperó oder zu Beginn des Abendessens" (whether during the ceremony, at the aperitif or at the start of dinner). The caregivers are on site and stay discreetly in the background until they are needed. In their experience, the earlier the care begins, the faster the ice is broken, and the children then join in easily until the end of the celebration.

One-to-one care for under-3s

For guests up to 3 years old, kids2events offers individual care on request, "Sei es für den ganzen Tag, zur Trauung oder bis tief in die Nacht" (for the whole day, for the ceremony, or late into the night). The page stresses that such a child stays part of the family gathering during the care and joins in all the highlights, "liebevoll beschäftigt und versorgt" (lovingly kept busy and looked after). That matters for parents of babies and toddlers who want their child nearby rather than in a separate room.

Weddings it has worked at

The wedding page carries reference letters, several naming the venue. Weddings listed include the Hotel Uto Kulm in Zurich, Schloss Laufen in Schaffhausen, Villa Sunneschy in Stäfa, Golf Sempach and the Hotel Wetterhorn in Hasliberg. Alessia, 7, a guest at the Uto Kulm wedding, is quoted saying, in Swiss German, that it had been like the kids' club on holiday. The couple from the Golf Sempach wedding write that booking childcare was the best decision they made: they could celebrate freely, and the children did not want to go home. The Villa Sunneschy couple report that even guests without children were impressed. Other quotes come from family celebrations in Zurich and Lucerne; one of them thanks the team for looking after 17 children aged 2 to 8 during a brunch. Another praises a play area with a creative corner, games, quality toys and a cuddle corner for the smallest.

The wider network

The company-events page lists further options, among them a face-painting lounge, clowns, a bouncy castle, a bubble machine and a children's photo booth. The wedding page does not list them, so couples who want one should ask.

It does not say whether children's meals are part of the service or arranged with the venue.

Who it suits

kids2events suits couples who expect a group of children at the wedding and want an organized play area run by trained educators from the ceremony to the end of the night, with materials, decoration and small gifts included in the planning. The one-to-one option suits parents of babies. It suits couples less if they need an English-speaking team confirmed in advance or a price before the first conversation.
