Zauberer Martin Iarrera
Tap a star to rate
Zauberer Martin Iarrera is a children's magician from Unterengstringen in the canton of Zurich who performs as Nobi, a character the site calls "charmant-eigenwillig" (charmingly headstrong) and known for his speech impediment. His website, kinder-zauberer.ch, sells three children's magic shows of 45 to 60 minutes each, pitched at children aged 5 to 12, for birthdays, children's parties, kids' events, kindergartens and schools. The site does not mention weddings by name. Its event show, "Nobi & der Zauberer" for Feste & Events, is the one that fits a reception with a group of children, and the prices for it are on the page.
The Performer
According to the references page, Martin Iarrera has been on stage full time since 1991, and more than 5,000 gala performances have made him the flexible all-rounder he is today. He is an accredited artist of Schule+Kultur, the culture program of the Zurich cantonal school office, a member of the Magischer Ring Schweiz (MRS), and a primary school teacher since 2024. The homepage ties the two together: as a primary teacher, it says, he knows how to entertain children and support them at the same time.
For an international guest list, the languages matter most. The references page lists "Mundart, Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch" (Swiss German dialect, German, English and French), and the homepage advertises the children's shows "in Dialekt, Deutsch oder Englisch" (in dialect, German or English). The safe reading is that an English show is on offer, and a couple wanting French for the children's show should confirm it, since the homepage lists only three languages for the kids' programs.
The Three Shows
The homepage describes three shows, each built around Nobi.
The birthday show. Nobi greets the children with his motto "Nobi is perfect!" and nonstop tricks, and during the show a young skunk wanders onto the stage and chaos breaks out. It runs 45 minutes. On the price page it is the Kindergeburtstags-Zaubershow, for up to 20 children plus 5 adults, described as the show for the party at home, at CHF 520.
"Nobi und der Zauberer" (Nobi and the magician). Nobi is only supposed to announce his boss, the great magician, but curiosity gets the better of him and he starts playing with the props, to the children's delight. Then, as if by magic, the great magician is suddenly standing there and the real show begins. The show page asks whether it was a lightning-fast costume change or real magic; the price page answers it plainly with "1 Künstler - 2 Figuren" (one performer, two characters). The tricks it lists include rings that seem to melt into each other, knots that dissolve into thin air, three separate ropes that suddenly become one, and a table that floats. The page gives 45 minutes for events and up to 60 minutes for school performances. The events version costs CHF 950 for 45 minutes; the school version costs CHF 750 for one hour.
"Nobi's Sternenzauber" (Nobi's star magic). Captain Nobi travels to distant galaxies in his spaceship with the mission of spreading laughter through the universe, and an unruly robot causes trouble along the way. The price page calls it the galactic magic show for the little ones, for kindergarten to second grade, 45 minutes, CHF 550.
For a wedding, the event version of "Nobi und der Zauberer" at CHF 950 is the listed option. The school and kindergarten prices are specific to those settings.
The Card Trick Workshop
On request, the children can take a 15-minute magic course in which they learn a card trick they can keep. The show page recommends it for budding magicians from age 8, and closes with the line "Wer weiss, vielleicht ist dies der Beginn einer zauberhaften Karriere?" (who knows, maybe this is the start of a career in magic?). At a wedding with older children, it gives them something to do with their hands after the show, and a trick to show the adults at dinner.
Prices and What They Leave Out
The price page is one of the clearest in this category: four show variants with the duration and a CHF price for each. The small print matters. Travel expenses and a technical surcharge (from 60 people) are not included, groups of 200 people or more should ask for a quote, and the prices are subject to change. The show page adds that the fee can be negotiated for schools and kindergartens with a tight budget and for clients who are flexible on dates. The price page also has a separate link for public events and evening shows, and the site menu lists shows for adults, so a couple who wants something for the adult guests too has a place to ask.
Booking
The price page has an availability checker for every show ("Verfügbarkeit prüfen") and invites visitors to check free dates and book right there. The contact page gives the address as Kinder-Zauberer Nobi, c/o Martin Iarrera, Untere Bergstrasse 4, CH-8103 Unterengstringen, with the email address info@zauberer.show, the phone number 079 205 77 66 (+41 79 205 77 66 from abroad) and a contact form. Schools can also book through Schule+Kultur.
References
The homepage and the references page both quote Gisela Schödler, a kindergarten teacher: "Super Zaubershow - perfekt zugeschnitten auf Kindergarten bis 3. Klasse. Absolut empfehlenswert!" (Great magic show, perfectly tailored to kindergarten to third grade. Absolutely recommended!). The references page also shows a gallery of customer letters, and the menu lists Press, Video and Feedback pages.
What the Site Leaves Open
The site says nothing about weddings, so a couple should describe the setting: when in the day the show would run, where the children would sit, and whether the adults will be in the same room. It does not state how the travel expenses are calculated, what the technical surcharge costs, or what space and setup the show needs. It gives no cancellation terms on the pages shown here. The whole site is in German, although the show itself can be done in English.
Who It Suits
This is a stage show, not background entertainment. The children need to be gathered and watching for 45 minutes, which suits the gap between the meal and the dancing, or an afternoon slot while the adults have drinks elsewhere. It suits a wedding with a real group of children in the 5 to 12 range, and a couple with guests from abroad, since an English show is advertised. The price is published, so a couple can see what it costs before inquiring.
The caveats: CHF 950 before travel is a real line in the budget, a group of toddlers is younger than the stated age range, and the performer's address is in the canton of Zurich, so a venue far from there will raise the travel expenses.
