Gioia-Genuss auf drei Rädern

Tap a star to rate

Gioia-Genuss auf drei Rädern (the name means enjoyment on three wheels) is a mobile bar and catering business based in Stäfa, run by Julia and Franzi from a Piaggio Ape three-wheeler called Gioia and a vintage Empolini called Gianni. It comes to the host's chosen location and lists weddings among the occasions it serves, alongside christenings, birthdays, company parties, openings and anniversaries. The drinks lean toward organic and regional products, and the food comes from chefs the business works with.

What the vehicles can be

The name, the site explains, comes from the Italian word for joy, and the owners say they had their Piaggio Ape built to their own design. The offer section lists what the three-wheelers, or a Vespa, can be hired as, and the list is long:

  • a bartender, barista or sommelière service
  • a cocktail course, a barista crash course or a wine training session
  • an aperitif bar or a Champagne bar
  • a café bar, a cocktail bar or a truck serving pinsa
  • a bar truck, a food truck or a candy bar
  • a photo shoot prop or a DJ booth
  • an eye-catching trade fair stand or an advertising space with a logo

For a wedding that range is useful: the same vehicle could serve coffee after the ceremony, Champagne at the aperitif, or act as a backdrop for photos. The site says the vehicles' distinctive look makes them a real eye-catcher.

Drinks and food

The business says it puts great value on fresh, regional and seasonal specialties, in Demeter or organic quality wherever possible, sustainable and ecological. Its offer includes barista coffee specialties, its own cocktail creations, organic spritzers and organic beers, selected wines, exclusive aperitifs and complete food catering.

On food, Gioia works with selected chefs, so the meal a couple wants is possible. The site names the formats: a simple aperitif, an Apéro Riche (a more substantial standing aperitif), a wedding buffet or a multi-course menu. The owners say the quality of the products and the presentation of the dishes matter a great deal to them, and each offer is put together individually. The menu tabs on the page are headed drinks, food, dessert and winter, so the business has a winter offer too.

At its mobile bars, guests can also take cocktail courses, wine training or wine tastings with Julia, who is a sommelière and bartender, with food alongside. The site says these are very popular at bachelor and bachelorette parties, team events and gatherings with friends at home, so they fit the days around a wedding as well as the wedding itself.

The two owners

Julia's story on the site is a hospitality career. After a 1-year hotel school course she knew her heart belonged to gastronomy, and she moved from Bavaria to Switzerland in 2005. Seasonal jobs at the Carlton Hotel St. Moritz and the Schweizerhof Davos were followed by positions in upscale restaurants and venues such as the Park Hyatt Zürich and the private club HAUTE. After qualifying as a diploma sommelière she worked for 5 years at the Höcklistein winery in Rapperswil-Jona, then managed the Ritterhaus in Uerikon, an event venue on Lake Zurich, for 2 years.

Franzi was born on the Baltic coast and came to Zurich via Hamburg in 2012. She has worked in healthcare in various roles for more than 15 years, and the site presents Gioia as her chance to follow a passion for food and drink. Julia's quote about her partner is direct: "Mit ihr zusammen sind unsere Möglichkeiten unendlich" (together with her, our possibilities are endless). The business is registered as Gioia-Genuss auf drei Rädern GmbH.

The two describe their roles in short quotes on the page. Franzi says of Julia that she is a host "mit Leib und Seele" (heart and soul) who can now realize herself fully with Gioia. Julia's own view of the work is that food and drink have history, tradition and culture, and that they bring people together. For a couple, that translates into a small team whose main experience is hospitality in hotels, restaurants, a winery and an event venue, rather than a large catering company with many crews.

Where to find them and how to book

The site lists public events where the vehicles appear, including the Grüningen spring market in April 2026, the Grüningen autumn market in October 2026 and the Christmas market in Bubikon in December 2026. For a couple based in the Zurich area, these are a chance to see the bar before booking.

Contact is by email at info@gioia-genuss.ch, by phone on +41 76 603 20 05, or through the form on the page, and the address given is 8712 Stäfa. A references section points to the business's 5 Google reviews.

What the site does not settle

The site publishes no prices, no minimum spend and no guest numbers, and it does not say how many guests one Piaggio bar can serve in an evening. It does not say how far the vehicles travel from Stäfa or whether distance adds a charge. It gives no booking lead time.

The page is published in German, and it does not say whether the team works in English. A couple planning from abroad should ask about language in the first contact. The page also does not say what happens in bad weather at an outdoor event, which is worth raising for a compact, open vehicle bar.

Who it suits

Gioia-Genuss auf drei Rädern suits couples marrying in the Zurich region who want a bar with character and a sommelière behind it. Couples who care about organic and regional products, or who want wine to be a real part of the day, will find the most here. The option to add food through partner chefs, from an aperitif to a wedding buffet, means one contact can cover more than drinks.

It is a small, owner-run business, and the page gives no sense of how large a wedding one vehicle can handle, so couples with a long guest list should discuss capacity early. The lack of prices and of any word on English service are the other points to settle before booking.
