Planning and Design From One Person

FAB WEDDING DAY is the wedding planning and decoration design business of Carina Nguyen, based at Brütschenmatt 2 in Wangen bei Olten. Its pages split the offer into two halves: wedding planning, from a first meeting up to full planning and coordination on the day, and the design of the decoration, from a mood board up to one-off decorative pieces made for the couple. The site's opening line says that FAB WEDDING DAY plans weddings "mit viel Herzblut und Liebe zum Detail" (with a lot of heart and love for detail), aiming for a fabulous day for the couple and a memorable experience for the guests.

The planning page adds that a professional planner can accompany a couple from the choice of venue to the day itself, pass on insider tips and keep them informed about current wedding trends. For a couple short on time, or planning from a distance, that is the practical selling point: one person who handles both the organization and the look of the day.

The Planning Services

The planning page lists five ways in. It starts with a first meeting, which the site says is free and where the first milestones for the planning can already be set. The Erstgespräch page describes that meeting as a chance to get to know each other: if the chemistry and expectations match, planning can begin, and Carina then prepares a first, non-binding offer.

From there, a couple can ask only for supplier recommendations, for partial planning or venue recommendations, or for full planning. The full planning page calls it the «All-in-one Sorglospaket» (the all-in-one carefree package) and says that it includes 4 to at most 5 consultation meetings. Full planning can be booked with or without coordination on the wedding day, and Carina writes that understanding the couple's individual wishes and needs precisely is what lets her support them well.

For couples who would rather plan everything themselves but want a professional on the day, day-of coordination is offered on its own, and the page says it can be combined with any of the other services.

Weddings Across Two Cultures

One line on the planning page is directly relevant to readers of this guide. It asks whether a couple is expecting guests of different nationalities, or whether the two partners come from different cultural backgrounds, and says such couples are in the right place, because Carina has experience with weddings that bring two cultures together. The site does not describe those weddings or name the cultures involved, but it is a direct invitation to mixed-nationality couples.

Decoration Design

The second half of the business is the design of the decoration. The page is written for couples who have booked a venue but have no idea for the decor, have too many ideas and no common thread, or already have a motto they want to carry through the invitations and decoration. Carina works out which colors and style suit the couple and their venue. The individual services are:

  • a mood board and color card, which act as the briefing for styling and decoration
  • a lookbook tailored to the wedding, for couples who want nothing left to chance in the styling
  • an individual wedding logo or pattern designed exclusively for the couple
  • one-off decorative pieces made as eye-catchers for the celebration, which remain afterward as keepsakes
  • help with the concept for an individual guest gift
  • Brautpaarhussen, personalized chair covers for the couple, made for a church wedding, a secular ceremony or the banquet venue
  • layouts for the seating plan and the decoration of the banquet venue, which the site says saves time during setup
  • a storyboard for the photographer, so that all the guests, the emotions and the details of the decoration end up in the pictures

The layouts page adds a practical condition: to draw up the seating and decoration plans, a joint visit to the venue is required. For a couple living abroad, that means planning a trip to the venue with Carina, or asking how she handles it otherwise. The site also mentions a login area with more decoration ideas for inspiration.

What the Site Does Not Settle

The pages describing the services give no prices. The site menu does include a Preise (prices) page, so a couple should ask for that list alongside the individual offer that follows the first meeting. The planning pages also give no figure for how far ahead a couple should get in touch, and no information on availability by season.

The site is written in German only and says nothing about working in English or other languages. Given the explicit welcome to couples from two cultures, the question is worth putting directly at the first contact. The site also does not say where she will travel for a wedding, beyond page titles that refer to wedding planning and decoration in Switzerland, and it does not say whether she works alone on the day or with help. The menu lists pages for a gallery and references, and the footer has headings for memberships and publications, but none are filled in on the pages that describe the services.

Who It Suits

FAB WEDDING DAY suits couples who want the planning and the look of the wedding to come from the same hand, and who like the idea of having it on paper beforehand: a mood board, a lookbook, a seating layout and a storyboard for the photographer. The flexible entry points, from a free first meeting and a few supplier tips to full planning with coordination, let couples choose the level of help they need. Couples with guests from several countries, or from two cultures, will find the planner explicitly open to them. The caveats are the German-only site, the lack of prices on the service pages, and the venue visit needed for the layouts, which matters for anyone planning from abroad.

Getting in Touch

The footer of every page lists the contact details: FAB WEDDING DAY, Carina Nguyen, Brütschenmatt 2, 4612 Wangen bei Olten, phone +41 76 306 05 04 and email info@fabweddingday.ch. The menu also has a contact page. The first meeting is free, and the offer that follows it is non-binding.
