Planning Weddings in Zermatt
Marry Me is the wedding planning business of Maria Mazzone Zurbriggen, who writes that many people call her "Mary". Her site presents her as "Your wedding planner in Zermatt at the foot of the Matterhorn", and it is written in English, which makes it easy for a couple from abroad to assess. She works from Bahnhofstrasse 47 in Zermatt and offers full planning, partial planning, wedding coordination, marriage proposals and bachelor parties.
Her pitch is local knowledge. The about page says she has lived in Zermatt since the day she was born and now lives there with her husband and their two daughters. She writes that she knows almost every corner and stone in the village, and that the sight of the Matterhorn is still a "wow" moment for her every time. Her promise is that couples will move through the planning without stress and enjoy the day with the people they love. The homepage frames the offer around the setting: it invites couples to let Zermatt and the Matterhorn be the backdrop for their day, and asks whether they need support with planning, recommendations and more, which is exactly the ground the five services cover.
Her Network
Under the heading "My Network", the site puts it simply: "I am local" and "Everyone knows everyone". She writes that she works in the hospitality industry, has been involved in several events, plays music in the band Wintershome and loves meeting new people. From that, she says, she has built an extensive network of professional service providers in Zermatt, from churches and chapels to hotels and restaurant venues, and from photographers and florists to caterers and musicians, and she helps couples choose and work with the ones that fit their style.
The site lists partners by name: Chez Vrony, Backstage, Paradise and the Suitenhotel Zurbriggen. These are partners she works with, not venues she runs, and each will have its own terms and prices.
The Five Services
The services page sets out what each option includes.
Full Planning, "From the idea to the big day", covers the selection of and recommendations for venues and suppliers; booking accommodation, ceremony venues, dinner and party locations or transport; organizing and coordinating the photographer, videographer and musicians; floral decoration from quotes to planning and coordination; menu and table decoration; a detailed schedule; and personal support and coordination on the day. For a couple flying guests in, the booking of accommodation and transport is the key line.
Partial Planning, "Support exactly where you need it", keeps the venue and supplier recommendations, the coordination of photographer, videographer and musicians, the floral planning, the schedule and support on the day, without the bookings of accommodation, locations and transport.
Wedding Coordination, headed "I take care, you celebrate", includes supplier recommendations, an optional schedule, coordination of photographer, videographer and musicians, floral decoration and personal support on the day.
Marriage Proposal covers recommendations for venues and suppliers, booking and preparing the venue, floral decoration from quote to execution, an optional photographer, videographer and music, a schedule and support for a smooth proposal. Bachelor Party covers recommendations and bookings of venues and services, a customized party plan and optional support on the day.
Cost and First Contact
Under "Costs & Initial Consultation", the site says the first consultation, by phone or video, is free and non-binding, and is where she learns the couple's wishes, ideas and needs. She then prepares a detailed offer to match. No prices are published for any service. The contact form asks for name, email, phone and a message, and lets couples choose whether they prefer to be contacted by phone or email. The phone number is +41 77 400 33 69 and the email address is info@marrymezermatt.ch.
Weddings She Has Planned
The portfolio lists four weddings, three of them with testimonials in English and photographer credits.
Bridget and Jon (2022, photos by Robin Egli) flew in on two private helicopters to exchange vows on a glacier, followed by lunch with close friends in a private restaurant with a customized menu, and a black-tie dinner and concert. They describe Maria as "charming and completely professional."
Melanie and Jean-Michel (2025, photos by Kuenzli Photography) say she made their Zermatt wedding "an absolute dream", and credit her attention to detail, organization and local network for letting them enjoy the day relaxed and full of joy. They add that she was "far more than a wedding planner" for them.
Sarah and Pietari (2024, photos by wild.souls.united) met her only a few weeks before their wedding at several locations in Zermatt. They write that "Coordinating 130 guests uphill and downhill (from the village to Chez Vrony and back) was no easy task", but that she made it seem effortless, and that she even sang live during their first dance.
A fourth portfolio entry is titled Wedding Sarah & Martial.
What the Site Does Not Settle
The site publishes no prices and no packages with fixed contents beyond the lists above. It does not say how far ahead to book, how many weddings she takes each season, or whether she works outside Zermatt. It also gives no guidance on the mountain side of a Zermatt wedding, such as weather alternatives, altitude or how guests reach venues above the village, although the Chez Vrony wedding shows she has moved a large group up and down the mountain. The site has an FAQ page, which may answer some of these points. It does not mention the civil formalities, which a couple from abroad needs to settle separately.
Who It Suits
Marry Me suits couples who have chosen Zermatt, and especially couples from abroad who want an English-speaking local planner with a network in the village. The range from a proposal or bachelor party to full planning with accommodation and transport bookings means she can handle anything from a single event to a whole wedding weekend. The helicopter glacier ceremony and the 130-guest wedding at Chez Vrony show both ends of what she has organized. Couples planning a wedding elsewhere in Switzerland should ask first whether she travels, and couples who need a price before a first call will have to request one.
