A Schaffhausen planner for the whole wedding or a part of it
Promessi Sposi is the wedding planning business of Laura Darmstadt-Medoro, based at Im Schweizersbild 7 in Schaffhausen. The name is Italian for "the betrothed", and the home page greets visitors with "Benvenuti!" before switching to German. She offers full planning, partial planning, day coordination as master of ceremonies, destination weddings and other celebrations, and every route in starts with a free, non-binding consultation.
Her home page states the promise plainly: a stress-free wedding that reflects the couple's personality, with every detail planned so they can enjoy the day without worrying. She describes her aim as reflecting the couple's personality in every moment of the wedding and giving them room to enjoy each part of it.
The planner behind it
The about section explains how she came to the work. She writes that weddings have fascinated her since childhood, and that her own wedding, which she organized herself down to the smallest detail, was a turning point: it showed her how fulfilling it is to turn plans into reality, and since then she has wanted to accompany other couples.
In 2020/2021 she completed training as a certified wedding planner (diplomierte Hochzeitsplanerin) at the AWEE Schule in Wädenswil. She also brings over 20 years of experience in event planning, which she credits with her organizational skill and her eye for detail and personal wishes. That combination of a long events background and formal wedding training is the strongest credential the site offers.
The about section closes with a passage from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, the familiar reading that begins "Die Liebe ist langmütig, ist gütig" (love is patient, love is kind). Couples who want that kind of reading in their ceremony will feel at home; couples planning a secular wedding can simply take it as the planner's own note.
The services
The home page lists four offers under "Meine Angebote":
Gesamtplanung (full planning). She takes over the entire planning, so the couple can sit back while the day is organized to match what they have in mind.
Teilplanung (partial planning). For couples who have already organized parts of the wedding themselves. She supports them exactly where they want help, whether in choosing suppliers, the creative design or coordination. If a couple finds partway through that they want to hand over more, she says she is happy to take on the rest.
Zeremonienmeister/Tätschmeister (master of ceremonies). In Swiss German weddings, the Tätschmeister is the person who runs the day's program. As the couple's master of ceremonies, she takes over the complete coordination on the day, from the first moment to the last part of the celebration, so the couple can concentrate on the day itself.
Weitere Anlässe (other occasions). She also plans anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions.
How the process runs
The page describes the method in a short paragraph headed "Mein Vorgehen". After the free consultation, where planner and couple get to know each other and talk through wishes and ideas, each further meeting makes the plans more concrete until the day takes shape. She writes that she keeps the budget in view as closely as the couple's enjoyment. There is no fixed package: the plan is built meeting by meeting around the couple.
The site's main call to action is the phone. A "Rufen Sie mich an" (call me) button sits at the top of the page, the number is repeated beside the about section, and several sections end with an invitation to book the free consultation. The page addresses couples with the formal "Sie" throughout, where many Swiss wedding sites use the informal "ihr", which gives it a more traditional tone. The home page also says she works with passion for unusual weddings and draws on long experience to match each moment to the couple's wishes, whether they want help with single parts or hand over the whole organization.
Destination weddings
"Destination Wedding" has its own item in the site's menu, and the home page says she plans weddings "ob in der Heimat oder an Ihrem Traumziel" (whether at home or at your dream destination). The destination section on the home page is thin, though: it carries the heading and the line "Perfekt abgestimmt auf Ihre Wünsche" (perfectly matched to your wishes), next to image slides that still show placeholder text. The site does not name destinations she has worked in, show past destination weddings or explain how she handles planning abroad. A couple considering her for a wedding outside Switzerland, or coming to Switzerland from abroad, should ask about concrete experience at the first consultation.
Contact and hours
The site gives a phone number, 077 497 96 77, an email address, promessi-sposi@gmx.ch, and the address Im Schweizersbild 7, 8200 Schaffhausen. Unusually for a wedding planner, it also publishes opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 18:00, Tuesday 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 22:00, closed on weekends. The late Tuesday slot is useful for couples who work during the day or who are calling from another time zone.
What the site does not say
The site publishes no prices for any of the services and no guidance on budget ranges. It does not name venues or suppliers she works with, and it shows no testimonials. It does not state a lead time or how early to book. It does not say whether she travels throughout Switzerland or mainly works in the Schaffhausen region.
Language is the other open point. The site is in German, with an Italian name and greeting, and it does not say which languages she plans in. A couple who needs to work in English, French or Italian should raise it in the first email.
Who it suits
Promessi Sposi suits couples in and around Schaffhausen who want a planner with a long events background and formal wedding training, and who like the option of handing over everything, just a part, or only the running of the day. The published hours and the free first consultation make it easy to start. The caveats are the lack of prices, testimonials and concrete destination examples, so the first conversation has to do the work that the site does not.
