Weddings in Verbier, planned locally

RSVP Verbier describes itself as "a bespoke wedding & event design and planning company". It plans luxury weddings, corporate events and private celebrations in Verbier and throughout the Alps, and its contact address is Ch des etales 35 in Le Chable, Valais. The site is written in English and speaks directly to international clients: the home page says its boutique approach and "white-glove service" are trusted by international clients "who expect the exceptional".

The home page names the range of events: mountaintop ceremonies and multi-day weddings, brand activations, milestone birthdays and ski-season parties. The wedding page opens with the line "Verbier is the perfect backdrop for a wedding or renewal of vows", so vow renewals are part of the offer as well.

What the wedding service covers

The wedding page describes the approach: weddings with personality and sophistication, attention to detail, innovative design and polished presentation, with the team taking care of everything from style and decoration to going-home gifts for guests. They see a wedding as a reflection of the couple's personalities and aim to make each event different by exploring new ideas each time.

The page then lists what the team handles:

  • menus and wine lists
  • venue choice
  • contract negotiation
  • staffing and security
  • hair and make-up
  • photographers and videographers
  • welcome parties and the day after
  • invitations
  • a custom website and wedding list
  • decoration, lighting and fireworks
  • flowers and design
  • music and entertainment
  • transportation and accommodation

For a couple flying in, the list is broad enough to cover the whole weekend, from a welcome party the night before to a gathering the day after. The page also invites couples to download a wedding collection brochure; the site does not reproduce its contents in the page text, so couples should ask for it along with a first proposal.

One line on the private events page is especially relevant for destination weddings: "we will even organize the accommodation coordination and concierge service for all of your guests at no extra charge to you." For a couple whose guests arrive from several countries, having one team coordinate where everyone stays is a real saving of effort.

Suppliers and experience

The private events page says that after 15 years of organizing events in Verbier, the team uses the best of the resort, sourcing caterers, cocktail makers, bar staff, florists, lighting and sound technicians, live bands, drivers and DJs. The wedding page describes a multilingual office with a combined 40 years' experience in Verbier and close relationships with suppliers in Switzerland and Europe, which it says lets the team produce weddings of any size.

The about page names one team member. Clare Parker, Event Director, arrived in Verbier in 1999 after studying art history and architecture at university in London. She began her career in hospitality and events with the Kings group, helping build up three four-star hotels, a number of restaurants and the Farm Club, and managing their marketing. She has run corporate and private events for clients including Moet & Chandon, ABN Amro, Tradition, Coutts, JP Morgan and Credit Suisse. The page describes the wider team as growing, with luxury event experience and a focus on organization and perfectionism.

Weddings sit alongside a wider events business. The home page and private events page mention birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas get-togethers, chalet gatherings, christenings, charity events and corporate work, and the site has a separate corporate section. For a couple, that means the same team can plan other family occasions in the resort, such as anniversaries or christenings, and it explains the depth of the supplier list: bands, bar staff, drivers and technicians are people the team books all season, not only for weddings.

Activities for a wedding weekend

The private events page lists activities that can fill the days around a wedding: igloo building, mountain olympics, mountain guides, sheep herding, skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, torch-lit descents, treasure hunts on and off the mountain, wine tasting in the local vineyards, cooking classes with star chefs, cow milking in the pastures, dinners in mountain huts, DJ lessons in a Verbier nightclub, escape rooms, heli-skiing and heli lunches with entertainment. Many are clearly winter activities, others summer ones, so the list doubles as a guide to what a guest weekend could look like in each season.

For families, a kids section covers everything from baby showers to christenings, birthday parties and teenage parties, with themes such as discos with a DJ, survival in the woods and on the mountain, making a music video, a classic tea party, igloo building and dog sleigh rides. The page adds that RSVP donates to children's charities every time it arranges a party.

Equipment rental

The site has a rental section, introduced as the way to add finishing touches to an event with tents, lanterns, lighting, heating, table decoration, furniture and floral decoration. The equipment page lists table name holders, a jeep, festoon and fairy lights, lanterns, vintage wine barrels, an easel, shade, shepherd's hooks and blackboards. Every item shows a price of US$0.00, so the prices are clearly not maintained on the site, and rental has to be quoted. The menu also links to a separate tent rental page.

What the site leaves open

The site publishes no prices for planning, and no minimum budget or minimum guest count. It does not describe how the team charges, whether as a fee, a percentage or per service. It does not state how far ahead to book, or whether summer and winter weddings are handled differently. It calls the office multilingual but does not name the languages, although the whole site is in English. It lists transportation among the wedding services without saying whether that covers airport transfers for guests or only transport in and around Verbier, which is worth asking for guests arriving by plane. Some pages on the site, such as one titled "Location", still carry placeholder text.

Who it suits

RSVP Verbier suits couples planning a wedding in Verbier or elsewhere in the Alps with guests traveling in from abroad, who want one team with an English-language site to handle venues, suppliers, guest accommodation and activities across several days. The long local experience and Clare Parker's hospitality background are its main credentials. The caveats are the lack of any published pricing and a site that is partly unfinished, so a couple should ask for the brochure and a sample proposal early.
