Sassy Wedding

Sassy Wedding is the wedding planning and decoration business of Stéphanie Besse, whose site title presents it as a wedding planner for Valais, Vaud and Switzerland. She introduces herself as "le cerveau et le cœur derrière Sassy Wedding" (the brain and the heart behind Sassy Wedding), a lover of weddings and of design. The offer runs from full planning to day-of coordination, with decoration as a strong thread, and the site is written in French.

What she offers

The home page sums up the approach in one paragraph: from organization to decoration, she takes charge of every detail according to the couple's needs, expectations and wishes, and she supports them throughout. The same paragraph makes three concrete promises: "Je travaille avec des prestataires de confiance, respecte les budgets, et crée des mariages de tous types" (I work with trusted suppliers, respect budgets and create weddings of all kinds).

Under the heading "je m'adapte à vos besoins" (I adapt to your needs), the page lists twelve services:

  • coordination complète (full coordination)
  • conception et décoration (design and decoration)
  • planification de cérémonie (ceremony planning)
  • gestion des invités (guest management)
  • choix de lieux (venue choice)
  • sélection de prestataires (supplier selection)
  • gestion du budget (budget management)
  • coordination du jour J (day-of coordination)
  • mariages intimistes (intimate weddings)
  • mariages à l'étranger (weddings abroad)
  • consulting
  • services personnalisés (custom services)

The list shows how modular the offer is. A couple can hand over everything, book only the decoration and the day, or ask for help with a single piece such as the venue search.

A small team, not a solo act

The home page speaks in Stéphanie's voice, but the reviews and the Instagram feed make clear she does not work alone. Taylor Nachtigal thanks "Stéphanie and her team". Matilde Greco writes that on the wedding day it was Stéphanie's colleague Léonore who was on site, coordinating the suppliers, the key moments and the entertainment, and helping with the decoration: bringing and installing material, setting up the evening before and making final adjustments on the morning. An Instagram post embedded on the page introduces Léonore as "la rigoureuse" and another pillar of the business. Couples should ask at the first meeting who will be present on their day.

What the reviews describe

The page reproduces a long run of Google reviews and shows a rating of 5.0 out of 5 based on 56 reviews. They are unusually specific.

Taylor Nachtigal, writing in English, lives in Los Angeles with a husband who is originally from Switzerland. They had to part ways with a first planner about a month and a half before the wedding. Their venue required bringing in all food, suppliers and materials. Stéphanie organized that, found a dance floor solution for the venue's uneven paving, found a hairstylist a few weeks out, and reworked the flowers. When rain forced the outdoor plan indoors, she reworked the setup for the ceremony, aperitif, dinner and dancing, remade the seating charts the night before, provided umbrellas and offered smaller plates for the venue's small tables. Taylor's summary: she "was able to help us plan from another country, correct the previous planner’s mishaps, and deal with all the unpredictability of the rain on the day of."

An excerpt at the top of the reviews describes her as calm and gentle but "prête à montrer les dents pour nous défendre" (ready to show her teeth to defend us) in negotiations with suppliers. Maeva Tonus booked her only a few months before the wedding to coordinate the day and finalize the logistics, and writes that she handled the timing "avec beaucoup de discrétion, sans jamais nous mettre de pression" (very discreetly, without ever putting pressure on us). Elsa and Lionel, who wanted to organize the wedding themselves, write that she collected all the suppliers' contacts and briefed them in advance, and that having someone run the wedding day is "vraiment un must" (really a must).

Léa and Colin booked day-of coordination too, and write that she blended in with their guests so well that she felt like part of the family that day. Another couple admits they were skeptical at first, then found her most useful in the stressful final weeks before the wedding and say they would choose her again without hesitation. Two reviews come from the supplier side: Lorenzo Baccassino, who has worked with Sassy Wedding several times and praises how she anticipates every detail, and a DJ who writes that everything was precisely planned.

How to get in touch

The contact form on the home page asks for name, email, phone, an approximate budget, the preferred wedding date and a message. The menu also links to a contact and FAQ page, a gallery of recent weddings, a blog and an about page. Instagram posts on the page show a mountain wedding and other recent work.

What the site leaves open

The site publishes no prices for any service, no packages and no day rate. Budget is asked for in the form, not answered on the page. It does not state how far ahead to book, although one review shows she took on a wedding a few months out and another stepped in about a month and a half before the date. It lists weddings abroad as a service but gives no destinations or examples. It mentions no formal training or professional association.

Language is the other question. The site and most reviews are in French. The English review from Los Angeles shows she has worked with an English-speaking couple, but the site does not state which languages she works in, so an English-speaking couple should say so in the first message.

Who it suits

Sassy Wedding suits couples marrying in Valais or Vaud who want planning and decoration from the same person, and couples who have done the planning themselves but want the wedding day handed over. The reviews point to someone who holds firm with suppliers and copes well when plans change, which matters for a couple planning from abroad. The caveats are the absence of prices and a French-only site, and couples should confirm who from the team will run their day.
