A Zurich planner with a design studio attached
Weddings by Viviana is the wedding planning business of Viviana Altorfer, with a contact address at Rennweg 50 in 8001 Zürich. Her about page says she founded it in 2020, after training as a diploma-holding wedding planner (diplomierte Hochzeitsplanerin), and she sells three kinds of planning help: full planning, partial planning and wedding day coordination. Alongside that sits The Studio, which the home page introduces as new: a design service for wedding signs and what she calls decorative branding.
The site is written in German with plenty of English phrases mixed in ("Let's vibe. Let's meet.", "Hi! I'm Viviana"), and its menu includes a Destination Wedding section and a page for couples who plan themselves (Für Selbstplaner). The tone is casual and confident. Her stated approach is clear structures and smart planning, so that everything runs in the background without the day looking scripted, and she says she wants a celebration that is authentic rather than staged, whether it is a big party or an intimate one.
The about page fills in her priorities. She says every wedding has its own story and that she is drawn to unusual concepts, personal touches and the small details that set the mood. She lists four things that inspire her: the moment when everything fits and everyone feels it, bringing order to chaos by turning wild ideas into clear concepts, twists and new approaches (rules are fine, she writes, but breaking them is more interesting), and pure emotion. She says she does not believe in a picture-book wedding, only in the couple's own story, and that her job is to turn it into an experience that feels like them.
The three planning services
The home page numbers the offer.
Gesamtplanung (full planning). For couples who want to hand the whole wedding to a professional. Altorfer takes on everything, in her words from the first idea through venue and suppliers to the last dance.
Teilplanung (partial planning). For couples who have already organized a lot themselves but need targeted help. She describes it as flexible and selective, helping where she is actually needed while keeping the overview.
Wedding Day Coordination. On the day she handles all on-site coordination and organization, keeping the schedule, timing and suppliers in view. The planning page expands on this: she makes sure every supplier is in the right place at the right time and that problems are solved discreetly before the couple notices them. She calls herself the invisible director of the day and the go-to person for everyone involved.
The planning page publishes prices, which is rarer than it should be among Swiss planners. Concept and planning work, which covers creative ideas, venue scouting and full service, is billed at CHF 130 per hour. Wedding Day Coordination starts at CHF 2,150 ("ab 2'150.-"). Because full and partial planning are both billed by the hour, the total depends on how much of the work a couple hands over, and the site gives no estimate of typical hours.
How the first meeting works
The first conversation is free ("Kostenlos"). The planning page describes it as a short call followed by a meeting over coffee, or a glass of Prosecco, where the couple talks about their ideas and wishes and Altorfer asks questions to get a feel for what matters to them. They also talk openly about what the couple expects from a planner, whether that is occasional support or the full package.
She pitches the value of a planner on three points: experience combined with a sense for trends, aesthetics and structure; a personal portfolio of hand-picked suppliers, so couples get targeted recommendations instead of endless searching; and taking over the project management so the couple can concentrate on the anticipation.
The Studio
The Studio designs pieces meant to give the wedding a single visual line. Wedding signs cover a welcome sign, table numbers, bar signs and individual statement signs, in wood, acrylic or fabric, with looks described as clean and modern, warm and natural, or soft and elegant. Decorative branding covers fabrics used as a recurring signature element, place cards, and pieces in acrylic, glass or metal.
The process has four steps: a conversation and briefing, a moodboard and design concept, corrections and fine-tuning until the result fits completely, and production with on-time delivery or setup. The studio recommends starting the design ideally 4–5 months before the wedding, and says special materials, individual illustrations or special requests can take longer; for rushed cases it will check whether an express delivery is possible. Studio work is priced individually according to material, scope and idea, with a tailored quote after a first exchange. Couples who already have a moodboard are invited to send it.
What the site leaves open
The site does not say whether Altorfer plans in English. The pages are German with English slogans, which is not the same as English-language service, so an international couple should ask. The Destination Wedding section exists in the menu, but the site's main pages do not describe what it covers, so whether she plans weddings abroad, coordinates couples who live abroad, or both, is a question for the first call. There is no statement of a travel area within Switzerland, travel costs for venues outside Zurich, or whether the day-of rate covers a set number of hours. The main pages show no reviews or case studies, and it names no team members besides Altorfer, although The Studio pages speak of "wir" (we).
Two practical details: the contact page notes that the Rennweg address takes no mail ("Keine Postzustellung möglich!"), and the legal notice lists a separate address, Rebenweg 16a in 8132 Egg ZH.
Booking and who it suits
Contact is by email to info@weddingsbyviviana.ch, by phone on +41 79 326 10 78, or through the forms on the site, which ask for the wedding date.
Weddings by Viviana suits couples in and around Zurich who want a planner with a strong design eye and one supplier for both organization and styling. The published hourly rate makes it easier than usual to control spend on partial planning, and the day-of price gives a clear floor for coordination only. Couples from abroad should confirm the working language and what the Destination Wedding service includes before booking, and allow the 4–5 months the studio asks for if they want custom signage.
