Wonder Events

Tap a star to rate

Alice Nessi's About page tells you where she went to fashion school, who she worked for before this, and what convinced her to leave a career in luxury fashion for weddings. It does not tell you where Wonder Events is actually based. No page on the site, not the homepage, not About, not either of the 2 package pages, not Events, not Contact, not even the privacy policy, names a city, a street, a phone number or a company entity. "Based in Switzerland" is the only geographic claim the business makes about itself, repeated almost word for word on both the homepage and the About page. There is no Impressum, a fixture on nearly every other Swiss vendor's site in this catalog, because Squarespace does not require one and nothing here fills the gap. Even the footer's own "Terms & Conditions" link goes to a page that returns a 404. The only way in is an email address, alice@wonderevents.ch, and the Contact page's one operational detail: "Calls by Appointment Only."

The bio itself is unusually specific for a business that discloses so little else. Alice studied Fashion Design in Milan, then moved to London for a job as a graphic designer at the Couture Gallery, a bridal-wear store, before adding a master's degree in Luxury Brand Management. She worked as Philipp Plein's personal assistant, then trained as a planner and designer at The Lake Como Wedding Planner under Rachel Birthistle before starting her own studio. None of that traces to a date: no page states when Wonder Events was founded, so this write-up does not guess at one.

The nav item labelled Investment does not lead to a price list. It leads to the Weddings page, and the word never appears on it again after the label itself. What's actually there are 2 named products. The Complete service, styled "Wedding planning + design package," bundles budget management, supplier sourcing and negotiation, full design work and wedding-day execution into a single line. The Design package strips out budget and supplier management and keeps everything else: the mood board, the supplier coordination for florists, photographers and lighting, and almost the same wedding-day task list, arrivals, table markers, resolving last-minute emergencies, managing guests on site. There is no third, cheaper tier for a couple who only wants someone running the room on the day; that work sits inside both packages and is never sold on its own. Neither page states a fee, a percentage, an hourly rate or a minimum spend, and nothing anywhere states how many weddings Alice takes on in a given year.

Everything that actually sells the business, the homepage hero, the About page, the gallery, every testimonial, is a wedding. But a separate Events page exists for couples who are not marrying at all: private events, graduations, quinceañeras, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate events, birthday parties, baby showers, holiday parties and engagement parties, "and more." 9 occasion types share that single page, and corporate events is a single line among 8 personal ones, not a distinct division with its own case studies or named clients. The honest read is a wedding specialist first, with a life-events sideline bolted on for anyone who emails asking, rather than a corporate-events firm that also happens to plan weddings.

Ticino and Lake Como, not Tuscany or Sardinia

The tagline promises 4 places: Lake Como, Tuscany, Sardinia and Switzerland. The gallery's own 14 titled, named-couple weddings tell a narrower story. Every one that states a location sits on one side or the other of the Ticino/Lombardy border: Lugano, Morcote, Vico Morcote, Giornico and Collina d'Oro in Switzerland; Bergamo, Varese and Lake Como across the frontier in Italy. None of the 14 is set in Tuscany. The closest the site comes is Elisabetta and Oscar's "Chic Tuscany-Style Wedding in Lugano," a style borrowed for a wedding that actually took place in Ticino. Sardinia fares worse still: it appears nowhere in the portfolio at all. The only trace of an actual Sardinia wedding is an outside credit, a Wedding Chicks feature titled "Sardinian Shores of Love" that the homepage links to directly under "Featured in." The site is not always careful about telling its own 2 countries apart, either. The gallery index titles the Graciella and Martin entry "Ticino, Switzerland Wedding"; that same entry's own web address reads "lake-como-wedding," and Lake Como sits in Italy, not Switzerland.

6 countries named, and total silence on the paperwork

The Contact page is more specific about reach than the tagline. It lists Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, Austria and the UK by name as "Event Planning Areas," plus "surrounding Europe," and it speaks directly to a couple planning "your dream destination wedding from the US." That's a wider, better-documented footprint than the homepage's 4-place tagline suggests. What it doesn't do is answer the practical questions a foreign couple actually has. Nothing on the site, home, about, either package page, events or contact, mentions Switzerland's civil preparatory procedure, apostilled documents, certified translations or a registrar. The topic simply never comes up. The site itself is written entirely in English, so the pages themselves work in English; nothing states that planning meetings, contracts or the wedding day itself are conducted in English rather than Italian, worth asking about directly given how much of the actual work happens across the Italian border.

7 testimonials and 2 traceable press credits

Wonder Events has no Google Reviews, Knot or WeddingWire presence linked from its own site, but it isn't short of testimony. 7 distinct couples are quoted across the homepage, About, Weddings and Contact pages: Silvia and Gianluca, Andrea and Tessa, Martin and Graciella (who namecheck their own 80 guests), Carina and Daniel, Estelle and Dario, Robert and Melanie, and Giacomo, who thanks Alice and a second team member, Laura, by name, the only place Laura appears anywhere on the site. Press coverage is thin but real: a Wedding Chicks logo sits under "Featured in," and the homepage links straight out to a Style Me Pretty piece on Villa Malliana in Bergamo, dated December 2025 by its own web address, the same venue named in the site's own Marko and Jasmine gallery entry.

What that leaves a couple with is a genuine, currently active practice with a real, checkable body of work behind it: a detailed career story, a clear 2-package structure, and more than a dozen named, dated weddings clustered around one specific cross-border corner of Europe rather than the 4-region spread the marketing promises. The gap sits on the other side of the ledger. Price, minimum spend, availability, team size, even the country Alice actually lives in, all wait on the first email getting a reply. For a business that tells a couple so much about its founder, it tells remarkably little about itself.
