A Stuttgart Filmmaker Who Travels to Swiss Weddings

Jasmine Chérie is a wedding videographer and photographer with a studio at Kniebisstraße 43 in Stuttgart, Germany. Her gallery page says she has been self-employed as a full-time videographer and photographer since 2013, and her photography page says she has accompanied couples on their wedding day for more than 10 years. For both her films and her photo reportages she travels across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and a dedicated page markets her wedding videos in Zürich, Geneva, Basel and Bern.

She offers both wedding films and photography, but not both at once. Her photography FAQ is direct about it: in theory she does both, but one person cannot produce high-quality wedding photography and film at the same time. A couple who wants both books her for one discipline, and she offers to help find a colleague for the other.

The Films

The video page describes her wedding films as between 10 and 20 minutes long, with the emotional moments and highlights of the day: the morning preparations, the ceremony, the couple shoot, the speeches, the first dance and the party. The Switzerland page gives 15 to 20 minutes, and the price table on her photography page lists a highlight film of about 8 to 12 minutes, so the exact length is worth confirming. She says her films are not classic wedding documentaries set to music but story-led edits with careful cutting and matching music, in a cinematic look, in Full HD.

Original sound is central. She calls it the red thread of her films: the vows, the words of the officiant, the parents' speeches, all the spoken moments that shaped the day. On the Switzerland page she describes the aim as making the couple feel taken back into the day through those words.

Coverage and Equipment

She writes that as a rule she is on site from the preparations, filming hair, makeup and the last details, and says a film is most complete when she stays from the preparations to the first dance or the party. The exact span is agreed individually, but the film package starts at 8 hours.

She films with several cameras from different angles, with professional Canon cameras and extra sound equipment, and uses sliders, steadicams, special tripods and a drone for aerial footage. She works either alone or with a colleague as a second videographer, and further videographers can be booked for a larger wedding. She says she does everything possible to stay unobtrusive while still getting every scene.

Because each film takes many hours of syncing, reviewing footage, choosing music, color grading and editing, she writes that she can only accept a limited number of films a year.

Packages, Prices and Booking

The price table on her photography page sets out three starting points without figures: a registry office package of about 3 hours with at least 150 edited images, a couple shoot and travel within Stuttgart; a reportage from 6 hours with at least 350 edited images, a couple shoot and travel within Stuttgart; and the wedding film from 8 hours, with a highlight film and original sound. No prices are published; the FAQ says each package is put together individually after a first meeting.

Photo packages include a personal first meeting (also possible by Skype), a wedding guide with planning tips for reportages from 8 hours, images edited in her natural style, an online gallery that can be password-protected, and private usage rights. Photo editing takes about 6 to 8 weeks, and images are delivered as high-resolution JPGs. The site does not give a delivery time for films.

The booking steps are spelled out. A date is reserved once she receives the signed contract and a deposit, a second installment is due 4 weeks before the wedding, and the balance plus any extras, such as extra hours, is invoiced after the wedding. She recommends inquiring 12 to 18 months ahead on one part of the page and 12 to 16 months in the FAQ. The first meeting takes place at her Stuttgart studio, and for longer distances a video appointment is always possible.

Weddings on Her Switzerland Page

The Switzerland page shows films from the Baur au Lac in Zürich and from Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall, plus a wedding at Molino in Neuried, each credited with the venue and other suppliers. Her film gallery adds Melanie and Christopher at the Waldhaus am See, described as an American wedding in Switzerland set against a mountain panorama. Most of the other films in her gallery come from venues such as the Steinbachhof in Vaihingen, Schloss Neuhaus near Sinsheim, the Goldbergwerk in Fellbach near Stuttgart, the Schlosshotel Kronberg and the Hofgut von Hünersdorff, and one couple is listed with New York.

What Couples Say

The video page quotes three short comments in German. One couple advises everyone not to ask grandfather to bring out his camcorder, because a film is a memory that stays. Another calls a look back at the wedding as a film priceless, and a third says they underestimated how lasting it is to sit on the sofa and be back in the moment at once.

What the Site Does Not Specify

The site publishes no prices for films or photos. It gives no film delivery time and three different film lengths across its pages. Travel costs to Switzerland are not stated; the listed packages include travel within Stuttgart only. The site is in German apart from a few English slogans, and it says nothing about holding the first meeting or working on the day in English, though her gallery includes an American couple's wedding in Switzerland. Couples from abroad should raise language and travel costs in the first contact, and ask whether a second videographer is advisable for their guest count.

Who It Suits

Jasmine Chérie suits couples who want a story-led film built around the vows and speeches, and who are happy to plan well ahead with a supplier who travels in from Stuttgart. Her Swiss films from the Baur au Lac and Schloss Laufen give couples marrying at comparable venues something to judge. She suits less well couples who want photos and film from one person, who need a price before the first meeting, or who are booking at short notice.

Contact is by phone on 0711 121 585 20, by email at mail@jasminecherie.de, or through the inquiry form on each page.
