Tap a star to rate
dinnercatering is a catering company in Zurich, run as Dinnercatering GmbH from Oberwiesenstrasse 61 in 8050 Zurich. It is unusually open about what it serves and what it costs: its offer page sets out complete sample menus with guideline prices, including a wedding package from CHF 140 per person.
How the company presents itself
The offer page is headed "Kreativ. Frisch." (creative, fresh). It says the team supports you with your event, whether that is an apéro for staff, a gourmet dinner for clients or a birthday party, and that "Alle Speisen bereiten wir immer frisch und mit viel Herzblut zu" (we always prepare all dishes fresh and with a lot of heart). The kitchen puts weight on "regionale sowie saisonale Lebensmittel und Zutaten", regional and seasonal food and ingredients.
Two points in that introduction matter when reading the prices. The menus can be adapted to individual wishes, and "Die angegebenen Preise sind Richtpreise und können sich je nach Angebotszusammenstellung ändern": the prices given are guideline prices and can change depending on how the offer is put together. So the published figures are a starting point, not a quote.
The wedding package
The Hochzeit menu is listed "Ab 140.-/P. pro Person", from CHF 140 per person, in three parts.
Vorspeisebuffet (starter buffet). Crispy breads; olives, dried tomatoes, melon with cured ham, vitello tonnato, hummus and Teufelsöhrchen (small savory puff pastries); tortilla española, salmon crêpes, octopus salad, mixed leaf salad and cucumber salad with dill; pasta salad, tomatoes with burrata, a vegetable and quinoa salad, and carrot salad.
Hochzeitsmenü (main course). Beef filet with a veal truffle jus, potato gratin and a vegetable bouquet. The vegetarian alternative is a quinoa patty with a mushroom cream sauce, potato gratin and vegetables.
Dessert buffet. Assorted cakepops, tiramisu with pistachios, limoncello mousse, crema catalana with forest berries, panna cotta with strawberry coulis, fruit skewers, and a selection of exclusive cheeses with grape and fig mustard.
That is a generous, crowd-pleasing structure: a long buffet to open, a single main course with a vegetarian option built in, and a dessert and cheese buffet to close. The page does not say how the main course is served, whether drinks are part of the price, or what staff and tableware add.
The other menus
The rest of the page is useful for building a wedding weekend or choosing a different format. All prices are "ab" (from) and most are stated for 100 guests:
- Apéro, from CHF 40 per person for 100 people: parmesan, salami, olives, pickled vegetables and grissini on the table, with crostini, tartlets, crêpes with salmon and horseradish, and wraps on étagères.
- Apéro-Riche, from CHF 80 per person for 100 people, adding prawns with tandoori pineapple.
- Flying Dinner, from CHF 80 per person for 100 people: an apéro, then small dishes "aus dem Gläsli" (in little jars) such as cured salmon trout or beef tartare, warm bowls such as veal ragout with morels, and desserts.
- Gourmet-Dinner, from CHF 120 per person for 100 people, with an apéro and a four-course menu including veal filet with veal ravioli and morels.
- Italian Buffet, from CHF 120 per person, with antipasti, roast beef, sea bream and salsiccia, porcini risotto and a dessert and cheese buffet.
- Tavolata, from CHF 120 per person for 50 people, an Italian-style shared table with pinsa, burrata, brasato and saffron risotto.
- Grill Buffets, from CHF 100 per person for 100 people, in several versions (grill buffet, BBQ buffet, US BBQ, a Gaucho buffet, a chicken grill and a table grill with skewers you cook yourself).
- Streetfood, from CHF 90 per person for 1000 people, with stations themed by country.
A Christmas dinner, a birthday menu and a seminar day are listed too.
The detail in these menus says a lot about the kitchen's range. The flying dinner alone moves from cured salmon trout with cucumber and dill, beef tartare with cured egg yolk on brioche, green asparagus salad and a small pea soup with bacon foam, to flamed leeks with brown butter and fregola sarda, and a miso eggplant with yuzu rice marked as vegan, before chocolate mousse, cheesecake with raspberry coulis and a rhubarb tiramisu. The Gaucho buffet brings whole beef entrecôte and veal loin from the charcoal grill with chorizo, corn on the cob, alioli, guacamole and chimichurri. A couple with a vegan guest or two can see at a glance that the kitchen already cooks that way. The Tavolata, the only format listed from 50 guests, may suit a smaller wedding, and a flying dinner is a natural fit for a relaxed reception where guests stay on their feet.
Venues and rentals
The page ends with an offer that helps a couple planning from abroad: "Sind Sie auf der Suche nach Mietmaterial oder einer Location ? Auch da stehen wir Ihnen unterstützend zur Seite." (Are you looking for rental equipment or a venue? We can help with that too.) The site also has an Event Locations section in its menu. A recruiting notice on the page asks for qualified staff for kitchen and service; the page does not say what service a wedding booking includes.
Contact
The contact block gives Dinnercatering GmbH, Oberwiesenstrasse 61, 8050 Zürich, the email info@dinnercatering.ch and the phone number +41 (0)79 631 99 31. Each menu has an "Angebot anfragen" (request an offer) button.
What the site leaves open
The site does not state a minimum guest count for the wedding menu, what the per-person price includes beyond the food, how far from Zurich the team travels, lead times, deposits or cancellation terms. It is written in German and says nothing about English. For a couple abroad, a short email in English with the date, venue, guest count and the menu that appeals is the natural first step.
Who it suits
dinnercatering suits couples marrying in or around Zurich who want to see the food and a price range before the first conversation. The wedding package gives a clear benchmark, and the range of formats, from apéro to tavolata to grill, makes it easy to plan a welcome evening or a day-after gathering from the same kitchen. The caveats are that the prices are guidelines, that service, drinks and rentals are not itemized, and that the site is German only.
