Gourmet Star AG is a catering company at Wassergrabe 3 in Sursee, in canton Lucerne, that caters weddings, private parties, company events and funeral meals, runs a lunchtime takeaway called the Esserei, and offers a set of its own event venues around Sursee. Its tagline, repeated in the page title and the main heading, is "Catering für gute Gastgeber" (catering for good hosts).
The company in its own words
The homepage states the company's aims in one sentence: personal and professional advice, and the best quality at fair prices, are its top goals. It says its business rests on "nachhaltigen Kundenbeziehungen" (lasting customer relationships) and describes itself as "das sympathische und leistungsstarke Cateringunternehmen" (the friendly and capable catering company), drawing on innovation, a feel for detail and the long experience of its staff in event catering and party service.
On the corporate side the site gives a concrete figure: for 20 years, it says, it has been helping loyal company clients be good hosts. The company also mentions its "grossen Kapazitäten" (large capacities) and says it plans an event "von Anfang bis Schluss" (from start to finish).
The news section records a change at the top. From 1 January 2026, Barbara Bachmann and Tino Gebauer took over the management of Gourmet Star AG jointly as co-managing directors. A second news item announces that the Esserei concept is being planned for Hochdorf as well, and a third that the company is again catering the open-air cinema season in 2026.
The wedding offer
Weddings have their own section, headed "Hochzeits Catering". The text is short and personal in tone: you have found your partner for life, the company would like to support you on your big day, and creating something out of the ordinary and planning with care is its passion. The line that carries the most weight for a couple is this one: "Es sind die Details, die uns am Herzen liegen und unsere Erfahrung hilft uns, keines zu vergessen" (the details are what matter to us, and our experience helps us forget none of them). The private-events section makes a similar point in slightly different words, "Es sind die Details, die am Ende entscheiden" (in the end it is the details that decide).
The services section describes the working method. The team says it accompanies hosts "von der ersten Idee an, über die Planung bis hin zur Durchführung der Veranstaltung" (from the first idea, through the planning, to the running of the event), and that its main aim is to look after guests with dishes from around the world. The contact block adds that catering is a matter of trust, so the company puts special weight on individual advice and personal care, and would like to meet clients in person.
Menus come in three formats, according to the site's menu section: finger food, buffet and a served menu. The menu suggestions are described as "ein Querschnitt unseres Schaffens" (a cross-section of our work). The site notes they are written without particular regard for seasonal products, so that clients can combine them freely according to their needs and wishes. A new offer card with various menu creations is linked from the homepage, along with an allergen list, and the company offers to put together a personal offer that includes an "Anlass-Hochrechnung", an estimate of the total cost of the event.
Party service for couples who organize themselves
For couples who want to run their own celebration, the site describes a separate "Partyservice". It covers family parties, wedding celebrations and birthdays with hot food, cold drinks, the whole equipment "vom Zapfenzieher bis zum Küchentuch" (from the corkscrew to the tea towel), and the infrastructure a party needs. This is the more hands-on route: the couple hosts, Gourmet Star supplies.
Event venues
Gourmet Star presents a set of venues as "unsere Eventlokale" (our event venues), saying its locations suit an invitation of 10 to 1,500 people, "vom historischen Saal bis zum modernen Loft mit Bar" (from the historic hall to the modern loft with a bar). Five are named on the homepage:
- Festhalle Seepark, Sempach
- Stadthalle, Sursee
- Esserei, Sursee
- Solitaire, Schenkon
- Moschti, Dagmersellen
Moschti, Solitaire and Festhalle Seepark are singled out as highlights in the footer. The homepage does not give a capacity for each venue, describe the rooms, or say which are suited to a ceremony; the 10 to 1,500 range covers the set as a whole. A map view and a services page for the venues are linked from the navigation.
What the homepage does not settle
The homepage publishes no prices for wedding menus, apéros or the party service, and no per-person figures; costs come with the personal offer. It gives no minimum guest count for catering, no deposit or cancellation terms, and no lead time for booking. It does not state the capacity of each venue individually or whether a venue can be booked for exclusive use on a weekend.
The site is in German throughout and does not say whether the team advises in English, French or Italian. For a couple planning from abroad, that is the first thing to settle, by phone on 041 925 00 40 or by email to info@gourmetstar.ch. The site does not say how far outside the Sursee area the team caters, which matters for a wedding elsewhere in Switzerland, and it names no delivery radius or travel charge.
It also does not say whether the company coordinates other suppliers such as florists, decoration or music. Its role, as described, is food, drinks, service and the venues.
Who it suits
Gourmet Star suits couples marrying in the Sursee and Sempach area of canton Lucerne who want one company for the food and, if they like, the room as well. The spread of venues, from 10 to 1,500 people, covers a small family lunch as well as a very large celebration, and the choice between full catering and a self-organized party service gives two quite different budgets a route in. With a corporate catering business, its own venues and a lunchtime takeaway, this is a regional catering company that speaks of its own large capacities, not a one-chef studio.
The caveats are that a couple has to ask for everything concrete, from price to room size, and that an international couple will need to confirm the working language before planning goes further. Couples who want a small, highly personal chef-led wedding may find a large regional catering company a different kind of partner, while those with a big guest list and a Lucerne-area venue in mind will find the scale here useful.
