Magusii Termen

Magusii Termen is a village shop, bistro and party service at Dorfplatz 1 in 3912 Termen, run by Magusii Termen GmbH. The homepage describes it as "mehr als nur ein Lebensmittelgeschäft" (more than just a grocery store): a family business on the central village square that since 2020 has combined regional produce, a bistro and event catering under one roof. Its events page is titled "Partyservice für Anlässe im Oberwallis" (party service for events in Upper Valais), and weddings are named on it alongside birthdays, company parties and apéros.
A village business, not a banquet caterer
It helps to be clear about what kind of supplier this is. The site does not present Magusii Termen as a restaurant kitchen producing plated dinners for a hall of guests. It is a local shop and bistro that prepares cold platters and finger food, supplies drinks, and rents out the equipment a self-organized celebration needs, from refrigerated trailers to beer taps. For a relaxed wedding apéro in a village, a garden or a barn in the Upper Valais, that combination can be exactly what a couple needs. For a formal served dinner the site describes nothing beyond "gekochte Spezialitäten auf Anfrage" (cooked specialties on request), so a couple wanting a seated meal should ask exactly what that covers.
The events page opens in Valais dialect, "Planeder es Fäst? De mäche wir ew froh" and "Will d‘ Rustig bringe wier, miesst nur sägu wenn und wo!", roughly: planning a party? We'll make you happy; we bring the gear, you just have to say when and where. In standard German it then says that whether for a birthday, a wedding, a company party or an apéro, the team will help with the organization and deliver everything needed for a successful event, "damit Sie sich auf den grossen Tag freuen können" (so you can look forward to the big day).
The food
Under "Kulinarische Highlights", the page lists what the kitchen prepares:
- cold platters, for example Valais platters or cheese platters
- Schinkengipfeli (ham croissants)
- bruschettas
- wraps
- fruit skewers
- desserts and small pastries
- cooked specialties on request
The page says the team will put together an individual selection to suit the couple's taste and the occasion. The homepage adds that the shop sells fresh bread from the Bäckerei Arnold, Valais cheese specialties and meat from local production, which gives an idea of what goes on a Valais platter here.
Drinks and equipment
The drinks and equipment section is the most detailed part of the page, and it is what makes Magusii useful for a wedding party held away from a restaurant. It offers:
- a drinks service delivering water, tea, coffee, beer "und vielem mehr" (and much more)
- equipment for hire: refrigerated trailers, fridges, standing bars, beer taps, fryers, grills, raclette ovens, tents and other event equipment
- return of drinks: unopened, sealed drinks are taken back
The equipment carousel adds a line on each item. Mobile fridges and refrigerated trailers mean no warm drinks. Standing bars are "bei Apéros sehr beliebt" (very popular at apéros). The mobile beer tap removes any obstacle to a beer. The fryer is for homemade fries. The mobile gas grill is easy to use and has room for enough steaks and sausages. The page also rents tents, raclette ovens and beer kegs.
Service
Under "Unser Service für Sie" the page lists delivery and setup ("Wir liefern pünktlich und bauen alles nach Ihren Wünschen auf", we deliver on time and set everything up the way you want it), personal advice and help with planning, and a separate business service supplying companies and canteens with drinks and snacks. The page closes the section with "Vertrauen Sie auf unsere Erfahrung" (trust our experience) and suggests that the best approach is to get in touch so the event can be organized together.
How to ask for a quote
The page has a no-obligation inquiry form ("unverbindliche Anfrage") that asks for name, email, the type of event, the date and a message, with tick boxes for the equipment wanted: cooling, standing bar, beer tap, fryer, grill and other material. The homepage also invites customers to "testen Sie uns" (try us out) or order a no-obligation quote. Contact details on every page are +41 79 265 40 79, +41 27 923 14 19 and termen@magusii.ch.
The homepage shows a rating of "Ausgezeichnet" (excellent) based on 22 reviews, without saying which platform they come from.
The bistro and the shop
Beyond events, the bistro is described as the village meeting point, for a coffee break, a snack or a stop on a walk on the Brigerberg, inside or on the sunny terrace with a view of the mountains, with coffee, tea and homemade cake. The shop sells regional products and everyday goods, sends a promotional leaflet by email twice a month, and sells vouchers. Opening hours are listed on a separate "Öffnungszeiten & Kontakt" page of the site.
What the site leaves open
The site publishes no prices for platters, drinks or equipment hire, and quotes come only on request. It does not state how many guests the kitchen can cater for, how far from Termen it delivers, or how far in advance an event should be booked. It does not say whether service staff are available on the day or whether the service is delivery and setup only. It says nothing about vegetarian or allergy-friendly options, beyond the fact that most of the listed items can be chosen individually. The site is in German, with some Valais dialect, and does not say whether the team works in English or French.
Who it suits
Magusii Termen suits couples holding an informal wedding party or apéro in the Upper Valais who are organizing much of it themselves and want one local supplier for platters, drinks, a beer tap, a grill and the fridges and tent to go with them. The take-back of unopened drinks is a practical detail that keeps costs tied to what is actually drunk.
The caveats: the site does not present a seated wedding dinner service, the site publishes no prices or capacities, and a couple who does not speak German will need to check the working language early.
