Wedding catering from Egerkingen
Plus Catering is a full-service caterer based at Oltnerstrasse 11 in Egerkingen, in the canton of Solothurn, and it cooks in its own kitchen at the Gasthof Kreuz Egerkingen. The homepage headline is "Hochzeitscatering & Event Catering in Aargau, Basel, Bern und Solothurn", and weddings are one of its 2 stated focus areas, alongside company events. It is also one of the rare Swiss caterers that publishes guide prices per person for every format, which makes early budgeting much easier for a couple planning from abroad.
The team describes itself as a mix of «alten Hasen» (old hands) and young catering professionals, with the shared aim of spoiling the guest. The site signs off its introduction with "Aus Spass am Genuss", for the fun of good food.
The formats and their guide prices
The homepage presents "Sieben Formate für Ihren Anlass", seven formats, and states that all prices are per person and a guide value (Richtwert); the binding offer follows the inquiry.
- Apéro. An elegant reception with fine bites and drinks, for company events, weddings and anniversaries. From CHF 45.00 per person.
- Grill, BBQ & Food Truck. Rustic food with a street-food feel, for summer parties and open-air celebrations. From CHF 80.00 per person.
- Buffet. A wide, fresh and seasonal selection. From CHF 100.00 per person.
- Flying Menü (Walk & Taste). Guests move around freely and eat small, handmade courses. From CHF 110.00 per person.
- Serviertes Menü. "Gehobener Service am Tisch – Gang für Gang", upscale table service, course by course, for festive dinners and galas. From CHF 110.00 per person.
- Hochzeit. Tailor-made wedding packages "von der Begrüssung bis zum letzten Tanz" (from the welcome to the last dance). From CHF 120.00 per person.
- Private Feier. Birthdays, anniversaries, christenings and family parties, at home, in a garden or a club room, "auch dort, wo keine Küche steht" (even where there is no kitchen), for 20 to 500 guests.
The wedding menu in the navigation splits into 3 sub-pages: Hochzeits-Apéro, Die Hochzeits-Party and Die Tageshochzeit (a wedding that runs through the day). The wedding section on the homepage says the catering is put together to measure, from an elegant apéro through Walk & Taste concepts to a served menu, "in der ganzen Schweiz".
A footnote matters: the website prices are for information only, the prices in the personal offer apply, and price changes are reserved. The CHF 120 wedding figure is a starting point, not a quote.
What full service includes
Under "Alles aus einer Hand" (everything from one source), the page lists what the full-service catering covers: menu planning and advice tailored to the event; cooking in the company's own kitchen at the Gasthof Kreuz; regional and seasonal ingredients; service and decoration by an experienced team; drinks and wine service; and setup and clearing away. A line of badges adds "Ab 20 Gäste" (from 20 guests) and "Schweizweit buchbar" (bookable across Switzerland).
That list answers several questions most caterers leave open. Service staff, decoration, drinks and the setup and teardown are all within the offer, so the quote should show them rather than leaving them to separate suppliers.
Four venues of its own
For couples without a venue, the page says: "Wir bringen vier eigene Häuser mit – und cateren selbstverständlich auch an Ihrem Wunschort." The company brings 4 houses of its own and also caters at a location of the couple's choosing. They are listed under the heading Locations & Partnerbetriebe, under the Genuss Gastro Plus name:
- Gasthof Kreuz Egerkingen. Restaurant, banquet and hotel in the Gäu. For a wedding with guests from abroad, a hotel attached to the kitchen is a real advantage.
- Triibhuus Rothrist. A greenhouse event space for up to 150 people.
- Mühlerama Seon. A historic mill by the water in the Seetal.
- Stadtgarten Wangen a. Aare. A steakhouse with grill events on the Aare.
Each has its own page, linked from the homepage, with the details of the space.
Region and booking
The page says the Egerkingen base is central and that the team is "schnell und flexibel in der gesamten Nordwestschweiz und im Mittelland unterwegs", quick and flexible across northwestern Switzerland and the Mittelland. It names Aargau, Basel Land, Basel Stadt, Bern, Solothurn and the Mittelland as its area, while the badges say it can be booked across Switzerland.
Inquiries go through a form or to +41 79 510 09 80 and catering@genuss-gastro.plus. The page promises "2–4 Tage bis zur Offerte": a personal quote within 2 to 4 days. It links to conditions (Konditionen), general terms (AGB) and a FAQ page.
What guests say
The homepage shows 5.0 out of 5 stars from 26 Google reviews, dated 04.09.2026, with excerpts it says are shortened in meaning. Jasmin B., reviewing a wedding, writes "Tolle Organisation, hervorragendes Essen und sehr zuvorkommendes und herzliches Personal!" (great organization, excellent food and very attentive, warm staff). Claudia N. writes that the catering was "absolut perfekt auf uns zugeschnitten" (perfectly tailored to us) and the crew competent, flexible and reliable. Other excerpts mention a flying dinner served indoors and on a terrace, and a topping-out party for around 180 guests.
What the site does not settle
- Language. The site is in German and does not mention English. Ask in the first message.
- Dietary needs. The homepage does not describe vegetarian, vegan or allergy options.
- Deposit and cancellation. The homepage states neither. It links to the conditions and the AGB, which a couple should read before booking.
- Lead time. The page notes that December dates are in heavy demand from late summer for Christmas parties, but gives no general booking lead time for weddings.
Who it suits
Plus Catering suits couples marrying in the Mittelland, Solothurn, Aargau, Bern or the Basel area who want a caterer that can take on the whole day, from apéro to dinner, with staff, drinks, decoration and setup included, and possibly a venue and hotel as well. The published guide prices help couples who need a number before they start.
For a winter wedding, the Christmas section is worth a look too: it lists table grill, Fondue Chinoise, raclette and a served winter menu for 20 to 500 guests, and says the team brings kitchen, service, material and infrastructure even where no kitchen exists. The caveat is that every price is a starting point, and a German-only website means the language question has to be answered early.
