Simply Food
Tap a star to rate
Simply Food is a catering business built around a food trailer, run by chef Thomas Krättli and Patrick Lipp, which has been on the road since April 2024. The homepage presents it as a regional party service "für Hochzeiten, Firmenevents und private Feiern in Bad Ragaz, Graubünden und der ganzen Ostschweiz samt Liechtenstein", for weddings, company events and private parties in Bad Ragaz, Graubünden and all of eastern Switzerland including Liechtenstein. The idea is simple: the kitchen comes to the wedding, wherever it is held.
The about section sums up the attitude in one line, "Wir kochen auf Rädern und das mit Leidenschaft!" (we cook on wheels, and with passion), and says the business stands for "ehrlichen Genuss und Qualität, die man schmeckt", honest food and quality you can taste, cooked with fresh, seasonal, regional ingredients.
The people
Thomas Krättli is the head chef. The site says he brings years of experience in party service and catering, and that in his main job he has cooked for guests at the Hotel Stoffel in Arosa for many years. Patrick Lipp makes sure events run smoothly, from writing the quote to all the organizational work, and also helps Thomas in the kitchen. For a couple, that means the person who writes the quote is also on site on the day.
The wedding offer
The catering section lists the occasions: company events, anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, christenings, Aufrichtungsfeiern (topping-out parties) and barbecues. It says the trailer suits couples who want a flexible, uncomplicated solution at their preferred location, "Ob im malerischen Wald, in charmanten Weingütern, in gemütlichen Hütten oder in modernen Werkhallen" (in a forest, at a wine estate, in a cozy hut or in a modern industrial hall). Couples can choose "eines unserer bewährten Konzepte" (one of the proven concepts) or share their own wishes, and Thomas helps with the planning.
The site names the range: hearty BBQ, freshly made pasta and traditional Capuns, the chard-wrapped dumplings of Graubünden. The reviews add detail from real events. One wedding couple, David and Petra Kressig, describe "ein erstklassiges 5-Gänge-Menü" (a first-class 5-course menu) at their wedding at Schloss Wartenstein. Another bride, Angela Greter, writes about fine tapas and a main course made exactly to their wishes, and says the team had no problem when traffic forced them to push dinner back. A third guest mentions a herb risotto with braised beef in red wine jus.
What the inquiry form covers
The form is the most detailed part of the site, and it answers several questions most caterers leave open:
- Guests. It asks for the number of adults and of children up to 14 years.
- Format. Catering with the food trailer or not, and a buffet or a served menu.
- Equipment. Crockery, cutlery and glasses can be provided, and so can tablecloths with matching decoration such as candles or flowers.
- Drinks. Drinks can be offered to match the menu, including wine. They are charged "nach gebrauchten Flaschen", by the bottles actually used, and coffee crème and espresso are made on professional machines, with coffee from their partner Don George.
- Budget. There is a field for the budget in CHF, so a couple can state a figure and let the team build the menu around it.
Renting the trailer
The trailer can also be rented without the team. It has stainless steel counters on both sides, a double sink with hot and cold water, a 170-liter fridge, an extractor hood, 7 sockets (230 V) and 1 high-voltage connection (16 A). Outside dimensions are 3.7 x 2 x 2.5 m, the empty weight 630 kg and the payload 670 kg, for a total weight of 1,300 kg. Rental with self-cleaning and pick-up in Bad Ragaz costs CHF 250 for 1 day, CHF 400 for 2 days, CHF 600 for 3 days and CHF 800 for a week, with a refundable deposit of CHF 500. Fryers, induction plates and other equipment can be rented too. For most couples the catering service is the relevant offer, but the rental shows the kit that arrives at the venue.
The site also notes the business works with equipment from Grill Sheriff, and that the trailer appears year-round at public events such as street-food festivals and Christmas markets. The calendar lists the Postremise Chur on 7 November 2026.
What guests say
The site shows Google reviews with an overall rating of "AUSGEZEICHNET", based on 38 reviews. Gina Parpan writes that from planning to teardown everything ran smoothly and the food was a hit with all 130 guests. Christina Boll, at a party of 60, praises how they took over clearing the kitchen and tables, and describes the team keeping "einen kühlen Kopf" (a cool head) when it looked as if the access road was blocked. Gernot Lang recalls that when the beer ran out at a hot summer garden party, they organized more on the spot. Gaby Vesti, writing for the Fasnachtsgesellschaft Sargans, which Simply Food fed at its 2026 general meeting, adds that the price-to-value ratio was right, the only review on the page that speaks to cost.
What the site does not settle
- Prices. No per-person catering prices are published; only the trailer rental rates are.
- Language. The site is in German, and it does not say whether the team works in English.
- Guest limits. No minimum or maximum is given. The largest party mentioned in the reviews had 130 guests.
- Terms. Deposit, cancellation and booking lead time for catering are not stated. The site links to a FAQ page.
- Travel. The area is named, but the site does not say how travel to a remote venue is charged.
Who it suits
Simply Food suits couples marrying in eastern Switzerland, Graubünden or Liechtenstein at a venue without a kitchen: a forest clearing, a wine estate, a hut, a barn or a hall. It also suits couples who want something personal, a menu shaped by the chef, and a team that, going by the reviews, stays calm when the day does not go to plan.
The caveats are the ones of a young business. It has been running since April 2024, there are no published catering prices, and the site does not address English. A couple from abroad should write early, fill in the form in full and ask about language in the message field.
