A handmade confiserie in Zurich and on the lake

Confiserie Honold AG is a Zurich confiserie with its flagship, Le Pavillon Honold, at the Herkulesbrunnen on Rennweg/Bahnhofstrasse in the city center, and shops in Zürichberg, Witikon, Küsnacht, Erlenbach and Herrliberg. Wedding cakes sit in a section of its range called "Spezial- und Hochzeitstorten", special and wedding cakes, and that section is built around a downloadable brochure rather than an online catalog. Orders and questions go to a central ordering office, the Bestellbüro, in Küsnacht.

For a couple marrying in Zurich or near the shops in Küsnacht, Erlenbach and Herrliberg, that means an established house with several shops to visit, a single office that handles the order, and a range that reaches well beyond cake.

How the house describes its work

Honold's philosophy page is short and specific. It says the company's identity is defined by handcraft, and that it is proud to create all its products "vom kleinsten Truffes bis zur grössten Torte", from the smallest truffle to the biggest cake, by hand, with care and skill. The foundation of the work, it goes on, is the quality of the ingredients: a large share of the raw materials comes from Switzerland, and the company works with local partners. The trades of chocolatier, pâtissier and baker are described as a living culture that is practiced, developed and passed on in the house every day, and the company's history of traditional methods and recipes is presented as the starting point for new creations. The aim, in the page's closing line, is work that brings customers real enjoyment and pleasure that keeps coming back.

The About section also links to pages on the company's history, its partners, sustainability and commitment, press coverage and news, which the wedding pages do not draw on.

The special and wedding cake section

The wedding cake page itself holds almost no text. It offers the "Broschüre für die Spezial- und Hochzeitstorten", the brochure for special and wedding cakes, and lists the locations. The brochure is where the designs, sizes and prices would be, if the company publishes them; the page does not reproduce any of that. Couples should download it first and then contact the ordering office with questions.

The rest of the range, listed on the assortment page, is useful for planning around the cake: an apéro range, a traiteur (catering) section, chocolate, pâtisseries and cakes, a boulangerie, Konfekt, ice cream (Glaces), menus, brochures and a range of vegan products, plus a seasonal line that the site headed "Herbst 2026", autumn 2026. The site's main menu also has a Lieferdienst, a delivery service, and a section for business customers. For a wedding, the apéro, traiteur and vegan ranges are the ones to ask about alongside the cake, and the vegan line is worth noting for couples with vegan guests, though the pages do not say whether a vegan wedding cake is part of it.

Ordering and contact

The contact page lists one channel for "Bestellungen & Auskunft", orders and information: phone +41 (0)44 211 52 58 and info@honold.ch, with a contact form for a consultation or an order. Business customers have their own address, firmenkunden@honold.ch, on the same phone number, which is the route for a company that wants to host or gift something around a staff wedding. For a couple abroad, the form is the easiest way to put the whole request in writing: date, venue, guest count and the brochure design they like. The ordering office at Obere Heslibachstrasse 9 in Küsnacht is staffed Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and closed at weekends, which matters for couples abroad planning calls around a time difference.

The shops keep these hours:

  • Le Pavillon Rennweg, Rennweg/Bahnhofstrasse, 8001 Zürich: Monday to Friday 07:30 to 18:30, Saturday 08:00 to 18:00, closed Sunday.
  • Zürichberg, Gladbachstrasse 108, 8044 Zürich: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 18:30, Saturday 08:00 to 16:00, Sunday 08:00 to 13:00. The English site gives summer hours from July 13 to August 16, 2026, closing at 5 p.m. on weekdays.
  • Küsnacht, Obere Heslibachstrasse 9, 8700 Küsnacht, and Herrliberg, Dorf 12, 8704 Herrliberg: the same hours as Zürichberg.
  • Erlenbach, Seestrasse 69, 8703 Erlenbach: the same hours, with parking in the blue zone on Bahnhofstrasse and Lerchenbergstrasse.
  • Witikon, Witikonerstrasse 279, 8053 Zürich: Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 18:30, closed Sunday.

The English version of the site also lists a shop at Rennweg 53 in 8001 Zürich, and the German menu carries a notice headed "Umbau am Rennweg", building work on Rennweg, so the city center shops are worth checking before a visit. The Sunday opening in Zürichberg, Küsnacht, Herrliberg and Erlenbach is convenient for couples who fly in for a weekend of wedding planning.

Language

The site has an English version with the locations and a "Customer desk" for the ordering office, but the special and wedding cake section appears on the German site. The pages do not say in which languages the ordering office handles consultations.

What the site does not settle

The web pages themselves publish no wedding cake prices, sizes, flavors or lead times; any of that is in the brochure or has to be asked. They do not say whether wedding cakes can be tasted before ordering, whether a cake is delivered to the venue and set up, or how far the delivery service reaches. For a wedding in Zurich or nearby, delivery is the first question; for a venue elsewhere in Switzerland, it is whether Honold delivers there at all.

Who it suits

Honold suits couples marrying in Zurich or near one of its shops outside the city who want a wedding cake from a handmade confiserie with several shops close to the venue, and who may also want apéro, catering or ice cream from the same supplier. The Sunday opening of most shops and the central ordering office make it practical for couples who visit Zurich only occasionally.

The caveat is how little the web pages say about the wedding offer itself. Everything specific sits in a brochure, and the process after that is a phone call, an email or the contact form. Couples who want to see a portfolio of wedding cakes and a price range online before making contact will have to download the brochure and ask.
