Globetrotter Travel Service

Globetrotter Travel Service is a Swiss travel agency with branches in towns across Switzerland, and its honeymoon page (Hochzeitsreisen) is built around one idea: you tell a personal honeymoon advisor what you picture, and they plan the trip. For couples it adds a second service that matters around the wedding itself, a Globetrotter wedding website through which family and friends can give you the honeymoon as a gift.
How the honeymoon service works
The page opens by asking what, from Globetrotter's point of view, is the nicest part of getting married, and answers that it is the honeymoon, which the agency likes to plan together with the couple. The one thing couples have to do, in the page's words, is tell the agency "was oder welchen Ort ihr in Gedanken seht, wenn ihr an eure Flitterwochen denkt" (what or which place you see in your mind when you think of your honeymoon). It offers two examples, "paradiesische Strände" (paradise beaches) or "ein Outdoor-Abenteuer" (an outdoor adventure), and says the planning stress can be left to "euren persönlichen Hochzeitsreisen-Berater*innen", your personal honeymoon advisors.
A later heading sums up the pitch: "Hochzeitsreisen – plant mit uns eure erste Auszeit als verheiratetes Paar" (honeymoons, plan your first time away as a married couple with us). Couples are invited to come in, take inspiration from the agency's travel ideas and then build the trip with its honeymoon specialists. The page has buttons to book a consultation appointment and to discuss your travel wish.
The "Why travel with Globetrotter?" block explains the model. Couples get individual offers for flight routes, accommodation, rental cars, campers and tours rather than a fixed package ("Massgeschneidert statt abgefertigt", tailor-made instead of processed). The agency does the searching, research, planning and quoting. Its experts share their own travel tips. And during the trip, among other things, a 24-hour helpline is available.
The wedding website
The feature that makes Globetrotter different from a straightforward booking agency is the Globetrotter-Hochzeitswebsite. The page asks whether couples knew they can create a wedding website with the agency and have their honeymoon given to them by family and friends. In its words, "Wir richten, gemeinsam mit euch, eine eigene Seite ein, auf der ihr eure Hochzeit ankündigen und den Honeymoon planen könnt" (together with you, we set up your own page where you can announce your wedding and plan your honeymoon). The opening paragraph returns to the idea: perhaps you will let your loved ones give you the honeymoon, via the agency.
The honeymoon page links to a step-by-step guide ("Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung") for how it works, but does not reproduce it. So the page itself does not say what the website costs, how guests pay, or how contributions are credited to the trip. For an international couple with guests in several countries, those details are worth reading on the linked guide or asking about before sending out invitations.
Trip ideas on the page
The page lists a long run of "Reiseerlebnisse", travel experiences, as inspiration. A few are explicitly honeymoons: a honeymoon tour of Cambodia with beach time on a private island ("Honeymoon Rundreise in Kambodscha mit Badeferien auf einer Privatinsel"), a honeymoon combining South Africa and Mauritius, a honeymoon 4x4 trip through Namibia from Windhoek via Etosha and Sossusvlei, and a Seychelles honeymoon.
The rest cover a wide spread. Beach and island stays include the Maldives, Mozambique, Pemba in Tanzania, the Andaman Islands, Bahamas island hopping and Barbados. There are ship journeys: a catamaran cruise in the Seychelles, a cruise to the Yasawa Islands in Fiji, the Aranui 5 to the Marquesas, a ship to Pitcairn and a Queen Mary 2 Atlantic crossing. Self-drive trips run through New Zealand's South Island, Ireland, Hawaii, the US Southwest and the Dominican Republic. Safaris include Botswana by houseboat on the Chobe River, Zimbabwe fly-in safaris and Zambia. There are also Canada by train, Rajasthan, Myanmar, Oman by 4x4, Colombia, Lapland, Tonga and a two-week Galapagos trip combining adventure and relaxation. A Bhutan trip is billed as a group trip.
A separate paragraph of ideas for each type of traveler suggests a traditional ceremony in French Polynesia, mountain biking in Iceland, a camper trip through New Zealand, kayaking with orcas in Canada, a multi-day hike on La Réunion, or, for less active couples, the Maldives, wine in South Africa or a sunset sail in the Seychelles.
Advisors and branches
The page names its honeymoon experts one by one, each with a branch: Globetrotter Aarau, Baden, Basel, Bern, Biel, Chur, Fribourg, Luzern, Rapperswil, St. Gallen, Thun, Winterthur, Zug, and in Zurich both Rennweg and Stadelhofen. For a couple living in Switzerland, that means a named specialist in a nearby town rather than a call center. Each name links to a profile.
The service hotline is (+41) 0848 000 844. The page notes that from Switzerland it costs the landline rate and that international charges apply from abroad, which matters for couples still living outside the country.
Language and other services
The site is published in German and French, with a language switch labeled Deutsch and Français. The honeymoon page carries no English version, and it does not list which languages the advisors speak. Couples who do not read German should ask when booking a consultation whether an advisor can work in English.
Beyond honeymoons, the footer lists sports travel, business travel, premium travel, group travel and a visa service, plus catalogs, travel vouchers and travel items to order, and online booking for flights, rental cars and holiday apartments. A monthly newsletter and two honeymoon blog posts, a packing list and a destination ideas article, round out the page.
What the page leaves open
The honeymoon page publishes no prices, budgets or per-person rates, for the trip ideas or for the wedding website. It gives no lead time for booking. Most trip ideas state no length; the Galapagos and La Réunion ones say two weeks. The details of the wedding website sit on a separate guide.
Who it suits
Globetrotter suits couples in Switzerland who want to sit down with a named honeymoon specialist in their own region and build a trip from scratch, especially one with a self-drive, safari or ship element. The wedding website suits couples who would rather receive the honeymoon than household gifts. It suits couples less if they want prices before a conversation, or if they need to work entirely in English, which the site does not promise.
