Travelhouse is a Swiss travel brand, part of DERTOUR Suisse AG according to its footer, that sells "Grosse Reisen & Rundreisen nach Mass" (long-haul trips and tailor-made round trips). Its honeymoon page, "Flitterwochen - Honeymoon", presents a set of ready-made honeymoon itineraries alongside the offer to plan one from scratch with its travel experts, who work from branches and online.

How Travelhouse frames a honeymoon

The page's subtitle is "Der Beginn Ihres gemeinsamen Abenteuers", the beginning of your shared adventure, and its opening line reads "Ihre Hochzeitsreise ist mehr als eine Reise" (your honeymoon is more than a trip), the start of a new chapter together. It mentions trips by the sea, in the mountains or on a remote island, and invites couples to be inspired by destinations offering calm, exclusivity and unusual experiences.

The practical promise follows: "Unsere Reiseexpertinnen und Reiseexperten helfen Ihnen dabei, Ihre Flitterwochen genau nach Ihren Vorstellungen zu planen" (our travel experts help you plan your honeymoon exactly as you imagine it), from luxury resorts and private beach villas to unusual adventures.

Ready-made honeymoon itineraries

The page lists 15 honeymoon "Erlebnisreisen" (experience trips), of which six are shown with their titles and tags:

  • A Maldives honeymoon billed as the classic, tagged as a self-guided round trip.
  • A Mauritius honeymoon focused on relaxation and food.
  • Beaches in the Bahamas, combining Nassau, Harbour Island and Long Island.
  • A sailing cruise in French Polynesia, the "Bora Bora Dream Cruise", the only one tagged as a guided small-group trip.
  • Island-hopping in the Seychelles.
  • A Mauritius trip staying with the Beachcomber Resorts.

"Unbegleitete Rundreise", the tag on most of them, means a self-guided round trip: the itinerary and bookings are set up in advance and the couple travels on their own. The Maldives trip carries the most theme tags: adventure and discovery, active and sports travel, food, and lifestyle and entertainment.

Where the page suggests going

A section on the most popular honeymoon destinations describes four regions. The Maldives are called the epitome of a honeymoon by the sea, with private villas with direct ocean access and dinners under the stars. Mauritius combines beaches, green hills inland and Creole cuisine and traditions, with boat trips along the coast. Greece offers Santorini and Mykonos, and also Paros, Milos and Folegandros, for sunsets over the Aegean and meals in small tavernas.

The South Seas section is the most detailed. French Polynesia has many islands beyond Bora Bora, from flat coral atolls to mountainous islands, which can be combined into an island-hopping trip with a stay in an overwater bungalow or a short cruise on a sailing catamaran. In Fiji, a stay at a romantic island resort can be combined with a cruise on the Fiji Princess or a rental car round trip on the main island, Viti Levu. On the Cook Islands, small romantic resorts or private villas are suggested.

For couples who want something less mainstream, the page recommends the Seychelles for their granite beaches and tropical forests, Bali for rice fields, temples and villas, and the Azores for volcanic landscapes, hot springs and coastal paths. The destinations grid at the bottom adds the USA.

A closing paragraph, "Jetzt Ihre perfekte Hochzeitsreise planen" (plan your perfect honeymoon now), sums up the three directions the agency has in mind: islands in the Indian Ocean, remote places away from the crowds, or a journey by ship. Elsewhere on the page, other trip themes are linked that a couple could fold into a honeymoon, among them road trips by rental car, camper and motorhome travel, island-hopping and ship journeys. The footer also links to sister sites for the Azores, the Cape Verde islands, Hurtigruten voyages and golf travel.

Styles of honeymoon

Under "Von entspannt bis abenteuerlich" (from relaxed to adventurous), Travelhouse lists five styles it will build: honeymoon suites and villas, often with a private pool and sea view; honeymoons on a cruise; exclusive honeymoon hotels with personal service, spa and direct beach access; adventures such as a safari, a balloon ride or dinner under the stars, "Erlebnisse, die wir gerne für Sie organisieren" (experiences we are happy to organize for you); and themed trips with a cultural focus to Italy, Japan or South America.

A linked blog post by Katarina Chollet, dated 10.10.2025, adds more unusual ideas: a safari tent in Botswana, husky sledding and a glass igloo under the northern lights in Lapland, and rice terraces and fishing villages in the Philippines.

Contact and service

The contact block offers four routes: visit a branch ("Besuchen Sie uns"), send an inquiry, call +41 58 569 90 95, or book an appointment. A separate button requests a honeymoon offer. The service promises listed beside it are "Über 40 Jahre Reiseerfahrung" (over 40 years of travel experience), individual advice from travel experts, a personal contact person in the branch and online, support with unforeseen events, and a "24/7 Service", quick and simple help in an emergency. The footer links to a list of travel agencies, gift vouchers, a travel blog, the travelbooks catalogs and sustainability pages.

For a honeymoon far from Switzerland, the 24/7 emergency line and a named contact person are the most useful items on that list.

Language

The site is available in German and French (de and fr). There is no English version, and the page does not say which languages the travel experts speak. A couple who prefers English should ask for it when booking an appointment or sending the inquiry.

What the page leaves open

The page shows no prices for its honeymoon itineraries, no trip lengths, and no deposit or cancellation terms (the general terms are linked in the footer). It does not mention honeymoon discounts or extras for newlyweds. It gives no booking lead time. It does not say which branch is nearest or list opening hours, though a branch finder is linked.

Who it suits

Travelhouse suits couples who want an operator with branches to visit, a range of ready-made honeymoon itineraries to start from, and an emergency line while they are away. Its South Seas and Indian Ocean material is the richest on the page, so couples considering French Polynesia, Fiji, the Cook Islands, the Maldives or Mauritius will find the most to work with. It suits couples less if they want prices on the page or a site in English.
