Mobile structures since 1934

Hunziker AG is a Swiss company for temporary structures, with its head office at Menznauerstrasse 43 in Willisau and a branch at Gewerbestrasse 19 in Gampelen. It describes itself as "der Schweizer Pionier für temporäre Bauten" (the Swiss pioneer for temporary structures) and says it has stood for mobile structures since 1934. It rents tents, halls and special tents, stages and stands, a wooden pavilion called the Roya, interior furnishings and a tarpaulin service, and it counts private events among the occasions it plans for.

The home page states the mission in one sentence: "Punktgenau, sicher und nachhaltig planen und realisieren wir mobile Lösungen für Kultur-, Sport-, Firmen- und Privatveranstaltungen, vom Fundament bis zur Zeltspitze." In English: precisely, safely and sustainably, the company plans and builds mobile solutions for cultural, sports, corporate and private events, from the foundation to the tip of the tent. For a couple, the key words are the last ones. Hunziker is set up to deliver the whole structure, not just the canvas.

What the range covers

The menu lists the range under "Unser Sortiment":

  • Zelte, tents
  • Hallen / Spezialzelte, halls and special tents
  • Bühnen / Tribünen, stages and grandstands
  • Roya, Holzpavillon, a wooden pavilion
  • Raumausstattung, interior furnishings
  • Blachen-Service, a tarpaulin service

There is also a marketplace section (Marktplatz), a project support section (Projektbetreuung), references, a team page, a "Zahlen & Fakten" (facts and figures) page and an FAQ. The home page offers two entry points: one for people who want advice on an event, and one for people who want to browse the range. That advice route is the natural starting point for a wedding. For a tent reception, the interesting combination is the tent or hall itself, the furnishings section for the interior, and a stage if there will be a band or speeches. The home page does not describe what each section contains, so the menu names are all a couple has to go on before the first conversation.

The site does not mention weddings by name. It speaks of private events alongside cultural, sports and corporate ones, and its news section is dominated by public events. A couple should expect a company used to large installations, and should explain early that the project is a wedding and what size it is.

The Roya wooden pavilion

The newest item is the Roya, a wooden pavilion. A news item dated 23 June 2026 introduces it as new at Hunziker and says that with the Roya the company continues its history of mobile structures and sets a new standard. The Roya had its world premiere at Iheimisch 2026 in Ennetbürgen, held from 14 to 17 May, where Hunziker was co-sponsor and full infrastructure partner with tent structures and the pavilion. For a couple who find a white marquee too plain, a wooden pavilion is worth asking about, including its size, how it is furnished and how far ahead it books.

Recent work

The news section gives a sense of the scale Hunziker works at:

  • Ice Hockey World Championship 2026. The company built the official fan zone at the Swiss Life Arena in Zurich and put up the merchandise tent next to the BCF Arena in Fribourg: two sites, one team.
  • Boulder World Cup 2026 in Bern. From 22 to 24 May it assembled the Layher scaffolding system for the climbing walls in the Festhalle Bern, for 166 athletes from 35 countries.
  • Spargelfest Fräschels. From 1 to 3 May it supplied infrastructure for the asparagus festival of the Seeland asparagus growers.
  • Arc Jurassien Expo 2026 in Saignelégier, where it built the complete temporary infrastructure for one of the most important cattle shows in western Switzerland.

None of these is a wedding, but together they show an active company working in German- and French-speaking Switzerland at once.

Credentials

Hunziker AG is part of the Messerli Group. It says it is certified to ISO 20121 for sustainable event management, and it is a member of Tectum, the Swiss association of festival tent builders. For couples who care about the environmental side of a large event, the ISO certification is a point to raise: ask how it shows up in practice, for example in transport or materials.

Contact and what the site does not settle

The head office in Willisau and the Gampelen branch share one phone number, +41 41 972 53 53, and one email address, info@hunziker.ag. There is a contact form and the company is on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. A useful first message names the date, the site and its ground, the guest count, whether you want a seated dinner and dancing, and whether you are interested in a tent, a hall or the Roya.

The home page leaves several questions open for a wedding:

  • Prices. None are published. Every project starts with a consultation.
  • Tent sizes and capacity. The home page gives no dimensions or guest numbers, although the dedicated tent and hall pages in the menu may. Give the team your guest count and the layout you want.
  • Weddings. The site does not mention them. Ask whether a single private event of your size fits the company's scheduling in the summer season.
  • What is included. The mission covers everything from foundation to tent peak and there is a furnishings section, but whether setup, dismantling, furniture and lighting come as one package is for the quote.
  • Language. The home page is in German and says nothing about English. With a branch in Gampelen and projects in Fribourg and Saignelégier, ask whether the team works in French or English as well.
  • Lead time. No booking lead time is given.

Who this suits

Hunziker suits couples planning a larger wedding who want a supplier that builds the full structure, from the foundations up, with stages, furnishings and weather cover from one company, and who like the idea of an unusual structure such as the Roya pavilion. Its bases in Willisau and Gampelen and its projects around Zurich, Bern, Fribourg and the Jura show it working across a wide part of the country.

It suits less well a couple who want a small tent with a quick online price, or who need an English-language website to plan from. The caveat for a small wedding is fit: the news section is full of championship fan zones and trade shows, so ask directly whether a private celebration of your size is something the team takes on.
