Tap a star to rate
clipinc is a small media studio in Bern that makes films, photos and design work, and also rents out a photo booth called "Happy". The rental page is plain about what it is: "Wir wissen, Fotoboxen sind teuer", we know photo booths are expensive, so here is an affordable one. The price is Fr. 350 per event, and the booth is collected by the client in the Bern or Interlaken region. The page names weddings, birthday parties and company events as the occasions, and the site is in German.
What the booth does
The booth is controlled by an iPad and has a built-in printer that prints photos "im Nu im Postkartenformat", in no time in postcard format. Besides single photos, guests can make collages. The booth also records short GIF videos at the moment each photo is taken, and after the event the client gets the photos digitally along with those clips, which the page calls "eine echt witzige Sache", a really fun thing.
The page says openly that the camera is the iPad's own. That keeps the price down, and one customer review addresses it directly: Martin writes that the fact it is "nur" (only) the iPad camera did not bother them, that the resolution is quite sufficient and the printed pictures look great.
What the Fr. 350 includes
The page lists the contents of what it calls a "Rundum Sorglos-Paket", an all-round no-worries package:
- the photo booth with iPad camera
- short videos as well as photos, with a fun video edit included
- a download link for the photos and the video after the event
- 100 free prints
- a white background
- the printer (postcard format)
- customizable collages with filters, emojis and more
- fun accessories such as glasses, moustaches and emojis
- professional studio light
- free support
Couples who want more than 100 prints can order extra packs through the page; it says that 2 packs are normally enough for a party of up to 100 people. The page does not give the price of an extra pack.
Collection, not delivery
The booth is picked up by the client in the Bern region or the Interlaken region. The page does not mention delivery or setup by the studio, so a couple should plan for someone to collect the booth, set it up at the venue and bring it back. For a wedding in the Bernese Oberland, the Interlaken pickup is a real convenience. The page does not say how long the rental period runs, when the booth can be collected before a Saturday wedding, or how much space and power it needs; those are questions to ask with the booking.
The studio behind it
The team page introduces the people. Thomas Roder is CEO and production lead; he writes that he knows how to stay focused in hectic moments, whether on stage or as a "Blaulicht-Fotograf" (emergency services photographer). He plays guitar in the rock band The MinX, heads multimedia at Schutz und Rettung Bern, and lists training at the Red Bull Media World Academy (2021), as a social media specialist (2018), a web and multimedia publisher (2017) and a federally certified marketing specialist (2015). Robin Kull, also listed as CEO and content creator, came to video and photography through action sports, starting motocross at 5 and later moving to downhill and enduro riding. Jessica Ladanie is the graphic designer and Trix Liechti handles accounting.
The studio's equipment list names Canon EOS R5 and R6 II cameras, Canon f/2.8 lenses and Godox and Aputure lights, used for its photo and film work. The footer places the business in the Bern, Biel, Thun and Interlaken region.
Other services
The menu shows what else the studio does: photo shoots, couple shoots, pet shoots, concert, event and sports photos, aerial and drone photography, landscape photography, video production, image and advertising films, music and concert videos, travel films, and design work from websites and logos to game design and 3D animation. A couple could ask about a couple shoot or a wedding video alongside the booth, although the booth page does not offer a combined package or a discount.
What couples say
The page carries 3 short reviews. Lea writes about her wedding: "Die Fotobox war für unsere Hochzeit eine grosse Bereicherung. Die Gäste vergnügten sich selbständig bei der Box, so konnten wir den Abend geniessen." In English: the booth added a lot to the wedding, the guests entertained themselves at it, and the couple could enjoy the evening. Rilana thanks the studio for its support and says she will recommend the booth. Martin's comment on the iPad camera is quoted above.
Running it on the day
Because the studio does not staff the booth, it has to work without anyone minding it, and Lea's review describes exactly that: guests used it on their own while the couple enjoyed the evening. In practice a couple should name one person, a witness or a friend who is comfortable with an iPad, to collect the booth, set it up with the white background and studio light, check the printer, and swap in a second print pack when the first runs out. The page promises free support, so that person should have the studio's number to hand.
Booking and contact
The booking form ("Ja, ich will unverbindlich anfragen", yes, I want to inquire without obligation) asks for the preferred date, name, email, phone and comments. The contact details are Thomas Roder, info@clipinc.ch and 079 747 70 10.
What the site does not settle
The site does not give the rental period, pickup and return times, the booth's footprint or power needs, the price of extra print packs, or cancellation terms. It does not say whether anyone from the studio can attend the event. The site is in German only and says nothing about English. The booth's on-screen language is not mentioned either.
Who it suits
clipinc suits couples in the Bern or Interlaken area who want a photo booth on a modest budget and are happy to collect and set it up themselves, or have a helper who will. At Fr. 350 with 100 prints, a white background, props, studio light and a GIF video edit, the price on the page is clear and low. The trade-offs are the iPad camera, the postcard-size prints and the self-collection. Couples who want a DSLR booth delivered and attended by staff will find that this is a different, simpler product.
