What Fotobox-Deluxe offers
Fotobox-Deluxe is a photo booth rental run by the Dürr family from Oberdorf 3 in 9422 Staad SG, trading as Dürr's Fotobox-Deluxe. Its St. Gallen page describes it as a regional provider for the city of St. Gallen, the Rheintal and the whole canton, and the site has further regional pages for Thurgau, Appenzell, Graubünden, Liechtenstein, Toggenburg and Lake Constance (Bodensee). The booth is built by the team itself, "In Eigenproduktion hergestellt" (made in-house), and marketed as Swiss-made. Packages start at CHF 299, and the site shows a 5.0-star Google rating. Everything is in German.
The booth is aimed at events with high expectations, and weddings head the list, followed by birthdays, company events, Christmas parties, trade fairs, New Year's Eve parties, stag and hen nights and housewarmings.
The booth
The homepage sums up the advantages in a list: 24 MP image resolution, unlimited pictures, professional lighting, automatic start-up, live view, an online gallery, an 8-second printer, photo download by QR code, quick setup, individual layouts and 24-hour support. The booth has a touchscreen and connects to the internet automatically, records GIFs as well as photos, and lets guests load photos to their phones or send them by email.
Automatic start-up is a point the site makes more than once: after switching on, the booth starts all its programs and sets up every system by itself, with no instructions needed. After the event, the Dürrs put all the pictures in a password-protected online gallery as quickly as possible, where the couple and their guests can download them at the full 24-megapixel resolution.
The St. Gallen page puts the pitch in one sentence: thanks to a professional camera, optimal lighting and simple operation, the booth produces high-quality photos that guests can take with them at once or share digitally. The homepage describes the image quality as uncompromising. A gallery of sample pictures is the place to judge that claim for yourself, and a references section lists customers who have used the booth, which gives a couple a sense of the events it has worked at before.
Packages and prices
The booth comes in four packages: Basic at CHF 299, Advanced at CHF 439, Premium at CHF 499 and Deluxe at CHF 619, with one marked "Beliebt!" (popular). On the site's price list, all four show the same items: the touchscreen booth, unlimited photos, the online gallery, 24 MP resolution, automatic internet connection, GIFs, phone download and email sending, a high-speed printer with 200 prints, a backdrop system with a backdrop of your choice, and delivery, setup, dismantling and return transport. The differences between the packages are not spelled out, so ask for the price and performance overview the site links to, or ask directly. The site also says that if the combination you want is not listed, there is a solution for everything.
The prices cover 1 working day or 1 weekend. Each extra day adds a flat CHF 259, and the site links to a worked example. Extra photo paper can be booked on top of the 200 prints.
The small print on delivery needs reading carefully. The package prices are pickup prices in Staad, and delivery is booked separately at CHF 149 for up to 140 km cumulative, then CHF 1.00 per km. Cumulative means both the delivery and the collection trip count, each there and back. For a venue some way from Staad, those kilometers add up quickly, so ask for the total before choosing a package.
Extras
The "Funartikel" (fun extras) menu lists an audio guestbook, props to rent or buy, a Magic KI-Hintergrund (an AI background feature), your own layout template, a buzzer and a choice of backdrops. The site says the props in particular are very popular. Prices for the extras are on their own pages, not on the price list.
Service
The service promises are specific. Every package is covered by a 24-hour emergency service: if the technology fails, the team can reach the booth by remote maintenance and fix the problem, provided there is a 4G mobile connection at the venue. That condition is worth checking for a cellar or a remote mountain venue. Unused whole rolls of photo paper can be returned after the event. The St. Gallen page says the team works regularly in the region, in urban venues and rural settings alike, and promises reliable, punctual delivery and quick setup. It also mentions that St. Gallen hosts fairs such as the Olma, the OBA and a wedding fair. Under "Kundennähe" (closeness to customers) the Dürrs write that they like to meet their customers in person when delivering or collecting the booth.
The team
The about page introduces three people. Oliver Dürr is described as the driving force, constantly developing new ideas, for whom good quality at fair prices matters a lot. Carina Dürr brings the creative side and cares about positive feedback and customer satisfaction. Max Dürr is retired but still travels the world, and as an experienced mechanic complements the team. The team's stated aim is to make events of all kinds better, with a lot of quality at fair prices.
What the site leaves open
The site does not say how the four packages differ, and it does not say whether anyone stays with the booth during the event. It publishes no lead time for booking and no deposit on these pages, though there are AGB (general terms), an FAQ and a service and transport page. It says nothing about English. The enquiry form asks what you are interested in, from booth only to booth with printer, backdrop and delivery. Contact is +41 79 550 70 60 or welcome@fotobox-deluxe.ch.
Who it suits
Fotobox-Deluxe suits couples marrying in St. Gallen, the Rheintal or nearby who want a well-equipped booth at a modest starting price, with 200 prints included and remote help if something goes wrong. The rental covers a whole weekend, which takes the pressure off setup and return, and for a longer celebration the flat CHF 259 per extra day is published, so the cost of keeping the booth for several days can be worked out before writing. The caveats are the unclear differences between packages, the distance-based delivery charge for venues further away, and a German-only site: write in English and see how the reply comes back.
