Jidori

Tap a star to rate

Jidori is a photo booth rental business in Solothurn, run by Imagemedia GmbH from a showroom and store at Gibelinstrasse 25. It rents four photo booths with instant printing, vintage-telephone audio guestbooks, games and screens for weddings, birthdays and company events, and it delivers across Switzerland or lets renters collect the equipment for free. Prices are published per day, which is rare in this market.

Four booths, one camera standard

All four booths shoot with a Canon reflex camera, print on the spot, pass the pictures on by QR code, and need about 2 by 2 meters of floor space. The site says the difference between them lies in looks, transport and price. Prices are per day and exclude VAT.

The Smile is the signature booth: solid wood on a wooden stand with an illuminated Smile sign and a separate printer on a table. The site pitches it at weddings and events where the booth itself should catch the eye. It is height adjustable for children, comes with AI effects, props and filters, travels in an estate car or by delivery, and takes 20 minutes to set up. It costs CHF 299 Monday to Thursday and CHF 399 Friday to Sunday.

The Mirror is a magic mirror, a full-height mirror with a light ring and animations, aimed at evening dress: weddings, galas and company events with a stage feel. Its height is fixed for adults, delivery is recommended, setup takes 20 minutes, and it costs CHF 399 on weekdays and CHF 499 at weekends.

The Woody is a compact wooden cube on a stand with an external flash and a separate printer, meant for birthdays, club parties, garden parties and anyone collecting it themselves. The Pearl is a slim, light case with the printer built in and no side table, for tight rooms. Both offer GIF and Boomerang, fit in any car trunk, set up in 5 minutes, and cost CHF 199 Monday to Thursday and CHF 299 Friday to Sunday.

What the day rate includes

The site's line is "Der Tagespreis ist der Preis" (the day rate is the price). Every rental includes unlimited shooting, instant printing, all images in digital form, a short briefing, a hotline during the event and a standard photo frame. The FAQ adds the digital gallery to that list. The homepage says the booths rent without a deposit ("ohne Kaution").

Extras are priced openly: photo paper at CHF 99 for 200 prints or CHF 169 for 400, a cloud download of the photos at CHF 39, a custom frame design at CHF 69 and a props case at CHF 45. Paper is booked to match the guest count, the site's event planner tool suggests the right amount, and unopened packs are refunded. Weekday events cost about a third less for the booths, because demand sits almost entirely on Friday to Sunday.

More than booths

The homepage lists the other rentals as separate ranges. The audio guestbooks, vintage telephones into which guests speak their wishes, are listed as 3 items from CHF 149 a day. The games range includes a Marvel pinball machine, a table football game ("Töggelichaste") and games for indoors and outdoors, from CHF 29 a day. Screens and accessories, including instant cameras and a red carpet, start at CHF 49 a day.

Delivery, collection and setup

Delivery has two parts, according to the FAQ: a flat CHF 120 for the person who sets up, briefs and dismantles, and CHF 1.20 per kilometer driven from Solothurn, counted four times (there and back to deliver, there and back to collect). The minimum delivery charge is CHF 180, and the site puts Bern at about CHF 300 to 340 depending on the address. The booking form calculates the exact amount from the venue address. Collection from Solothurn is free, by appointment on 079 530 60 60.

The site lists road distances from Solothurn to the towns it names, from Biel (25.2 km) and Bern (40.2 km) to Zürich (96.6 km) and St. Gallen (176.6 km), and says it delivers everywhere in between. Its Bern page says the team reaches Bern in about 40 minutes, close enough to set up in the afternoon and collect the next day without anyone on site having to do anything.

On the day, the team arrives before the guests, sets the lighting and makes a test print; after that the booth runs unattended. The wedding page repeats this ("Läuft ohne Betreuung", runs without an attendant) alongside a frame with the couple's names. A standard 230 V socket is enough and the team brings extension cables. No internet is needed, since the booth works offline and stores every image locally; only the optional live upload to the online gallery needs WLAN. For narrow access (an old town, a courtyard, a third floor without an elevator), the site asks to be told in advance so it can bring the right booth and enough time.

Booking

Booking is online: choose the dates and the booth, see availability at once, add extras, with no phone call needed. Jidori confirms within 24 hours, and payment is by invoice, Twint or card. For weddings between May and October the site recommends booking three to six months ahead, as weekends go early, but says a call is worth it at short notice too. The showroom lets couples see and test every booth by appointment. Contact is 032 665 72 55, info@jidori.ch or WhatsApp. The site also states that 1 % of revenue goes to removing CO₂ from the atmosphere.

What to ask, and who it suits

The site is in German only and says nothing about English, so couples booking from abroad should ask whether the briefing and the event hotline can run in English. The rental conditions sit on a separate page, and the homepage does not summarize cancellation terms, so read them before paying.

Jidori suits couples who want a clear total before they book: a day rate, a paper pack, and a delivery fee the form calculates from the venue address. The choice between a showpiece wooden booth, a magic mirror and two compact booths covers most venues. For weddings far from Solothurn, the per-kilometer delivery adds up, and couples who want an attendant at the booth all night should note that the booth is designed to run on its own.
