Kreativista

Tap a star to rate

Kreativista is a small creative business in Malix, near Chur in Graubünden, that rents out one photo booth it designed and built itself. The booth pairs a full-frame mirrorless camera with a professional flash and a fast printer, comes with a layout designed for each event, and is always set up by the Kreativista team in person rather than shipped. The published price starts at CHF 659.

The company behind it is KREATIVISTA GmbH at Hauptstrasse 67 in Malix. The site's menu shows the photo booth is one part of a wider business, alongside an online shop, events and a space for hire, and the whole site is written in German in the informal "du" form.

One booth, built in-house

The page is candid that there is only one: "Wir besitzen lediglich eine einzige Fotobox" (we own just one photo booth). The team says it spent a year designing and building it from top to bottom, and that it does not like compromises. The camera is a Canon R full-frame system camera, the same kind the team uses on its own photo shoots. Light comes from a TTL flash with a large beauty dish, which the page describes, with a wink, as the thing influencers like to use to show themselves off. The printer delivers a photo in 12.4 seconds, and guests operate the booth by touchscreen.

The props deserve a mention because the business designs some of them itself. The page calls those stick props "der absolute Running-Gag auf allen Veranstaltungen" (the running gag at every event). A props box is part of every rental.

The single booth has a practical side for a couple: there is no fleet, so a popular summer Saturday can only go to one event, and an inquiry should go in early.

The layout and the guestbook

Every rental includes a layout designed for the event, and the page puts the promise bluntly: "Du tust nichts, erhältst aber alles" (you do nothing, but get everything). For a company event the logo takes center stage; for a wedding the team may ask for a photo of the invitation so the print layout matches it. The included package offers up to 4 different layout templates, and a fully individual layout is an extra.

Guests take their prints home straight away. If the couple has a guestbook on site, each photo can be printed twice (up to 2 prints per photo), one for the guest and one for the book. Kreativista also makes a personalized guestbook on request and provides pens and photo glue for the guests. The backdrop can come from the business's own range, or be a neutral canvas, a green screen, or a logo or sponsor wall.

After the event, all photos arrive by email within 72 hours. On request they come on a USB stick by post, or in an online gallery.

Price and what is included

The base price of CHF 659 covers delivery and collection within 25 km of Chur, setup and commissioning by the team, the Canon R camera, the TTL flash with beauty dish, touchscreen operation, up to 4 layout templates, up to 400 prints, up to 2 prints per photo, the props box, all photos by email within 72 hours, and personal support by phone or WhatsApp.

The inquiry form lists the extras with their prices: a backdrop (CHF 50), an individual photo layout (CHF 90), unlimited prints (CHF 200), a string of lights (CHF 8), illuminated LOVE letters (CHF 12), and a personalized guestbook of 48 pages (CHF 56) or 72 pages (CHF 64).

Booking starts with that inquiry form. It asks first for the desired date and the venue or town, both required, then for the chosen extras, and on a second step for the contact details: name, street address, postcode, town, phone and email, with an optional company name and a comment field. Anyone who prefers not to fill in a form can call, write on WhatsApp or send an email, which the page offers in so many words for people who do not like the phone.

Travel across Switzerland

Kreativista says it is at home in Graubünden and can be booked in all 26 cantons. Travel is where the regional base shows. The page explains the policy in its own words: "Wir legen viel Wert auf Regionalität und möchten Unternehmern anderer Regionen nicht in den Rücken fallen." In English: the business values regionality and does not want to undercut entrepreneurs in other regions. The first 25 km from Chur are included, and every further 20 km costs a flat 30 francs.

On the day, the team arrives about 3 hours before the party starts and tests the booth on site for function, completeness and print quality. The page is explicit that the booth is set up in person at every event and never sent by post. The requirements are an ordinary 230-volt socket and about 2 x 3 meters of space.

What the page leaves open

The page does not say whether someone from the team stays with the booth through the evening or leaves once it runs, and it does not state when the booth is collected. It does not say whether the booth can stand outdoors. There is no mention of English or other languages, no cancellation rule on the page itself (the inquiry form asks the customer to accept the terms and conditions, which sit on a separate page), and no reviews. Couples writing from abroad should ask whether the team can handle the booking and the layout design in English.

Who it suits

Kreativista suits couples marrying in and around Chur and the Graubünden valleys who want a carefully made booth with good light, a layout designed around their invitation, and a small team that turns up hours early to test everything. The published prices, down to the string of lights, make budgeting simple.

It suits less well a couple marrying far from Chur. The business accepts bookings anywhere in Switzerland, but the travel charge grows with every 20 km, and the page makes clear that it would rather not compete with suppliers in other regions. With a single booth, date availability is the other limit, so couples should ask early.
